10 Best Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Ranked
While the wrestling industry is quite a secretive one that many on the outside aren't overly familiar with what actually goes on behind the curtains, thankfully, wrestling shoot interviews exist to lift the lid on all those secrets.
While many shoot interviews are simply done for a wrestler to just complain (Normally about WWE), there are some fantastic interviews that are a mix of positive and negative as the wrestler in question tells stories and breaks things down for the fans.

Of course, fallouts and controversies always make a shoot interview great as that is the dirt that fans look for, and there have been plenty of great ones over the years, as we are about to reveal.
10 Jim Cornette
Jim Cornette is well-known for not mincing his words, having no problem in saying things exactly as he sees them, regardless of who that might offend or upset, which is why he has been part of so many different shoot interviews.
Cornette has made all his thoughts and opinions well known, often taking shots at the likes of Triple H, Eric Bischoff, and WWE in general and even nowadays he is constantly critical over people like Joey Ryan.
Cornette has been very vocal about his dislike for ECW as well, and whether you agree with him or not, watching a Cornette shoot interview is always entertaining.
9 X-Pac
Unlike Jim Cornette, X-Pac's shoot interviews tend to be a lot more positive, with the WWE Hall Of Famer being a lot more upbeat about his WWE career in general, often discussing funnier stories during his in the interviews.

X-Pac's most famous interview came when he broke down and revealed the famous 'Plane Journey From Hell' story that is beloved by wrestling fans as he revealed all the details of that famous flight.
From Mr. Perfect and Brock Lesnar wrestling in the aisle to Ric Flair getting naked or X-Pac himself cutting Michael PS Hayes hair, this interview is legendary for this story alone.
8 Honky Tonk Man
The Honky Tonk Man might be a WWE Hall Of Famer, but that doesn't mean he treads the company line like many WWE legends do, in fact, he often does quite the opposite which leads to some funny interviews.
During one interview Honky Tonk totally destroyed Bret Hart by labeling him as "one dimensional" while he also mocked Shawn Michaels for when he lost his smile, holding nothing back.
While he may not ever have been the headline name during his career, he is still respected enough that people trust his opinion and listen to him, which is why he often gets asked to do lots of interviews.
7 Sunny
Sunny is never one to hold back during a shoot interview, often revealing incredibly personal details (see, her Dolph Ziggler comments) while also spending the time to take shots at some of her fellow wrestling legends.
Sable is someone who Tammy Sytch has often fired at, claiming she never liked her backstage with issues being based upon Sable's first husband, who according to Sunny, Sable was happy died.

While Sunny's career hasn't always been ideal, with the former WWE Superstar having plenty of personal troubles herself, her interviews are at least always entertaining.
6 Dean Ambrose
This is an interesting example because his appearance on the Stone Cold podcast on the WWE Network was obviously not intended to be a shoot interview, as it was something being promoted by WWE.
However, a shoot is what it ended up turning into, which was so controversial that it actually resulted in the podcast series being canceled on the WWE Network, with no more episodes happening.
Ambrose complained about a lack of opportunities, despite his work ethic and complained about Brock Lesnar, calling him out for being lazy while he appeared incredibly awkward with Stone Cold.
5 Ryback
The Big Guy has been very vocal after his WWE career came to an end, which all started with him firing back at comments made by CM Punk about him being unsafe, but continued on to so much more.

Ryback has gone on to claim Vince McMahon originally wanted him to squash AJ Styles in his WrestleMania debut, and also made a case for how pay should work in WWE, with winners earning more, despite the results being scripted.
Ryback's podcasts and interviews have been very interesting, to say the least, and while sometimes he does talk a lot of sense, other times you are left wondering what he is thinking.
4 Bret Hart
To say he had such an incredible career, there always seems to be an element of bitterness and anger when Bret Hart is interviewed, and while that's a shame to see, it does produce some incredible moments.
Hart is never one to hold back and keep his opinions to himself and he proved that during an interview where he blasted Triple H, making his feelings about The Game incredibly clear.
The Hitman famously claimed Triple H's Hell in a Cell match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania was a 4/10 and was overrated, which is a quote that people have continued to use to this day.
3 Batista
While the relationship between Batista and WWE seems to be great right now following his retirement match against Triple H, but during the period of time when he first left WWE, Batista wasn't all that positive about the company.
Not being a fan of the fact WWE was heading in a PG environment, Batista wasn't exactly quiet about his feelings, taking to interviews to make it clear that he didn't agree with the direction the company was moving in.

He has also been vocal about how he was booked in his first return to WWE, and the fact that the fans reacted poorly to it, being very outspoken which is rare in a current talent.
2 CM Punk
This shoot interview has gone on to cause a ton of legal problems and actually resulted in CM Punk and Colt Cabana no longer being friends, but it is an incredibly iconic shoot interview where Punk appeared on the podcast following his WWE exit.
Everyone wanted to hear stories from Punk and why he quit the company and, as expected, the former WWE Champion didn't hold back in calling out WWE for all its faults.
From the double-standard of Brock Lesnar being allowed personal sponsors to shooting on Ryback for seriously injuring him, Punk spoke from the heart and created a fantastic interview.
1 Kevin Nash
Who can forget the much-hated phrase, "vanilla midgets," which Kevin Nash so fondly offered to smaller wrestlers in WWE during his interview with ESPN's Grantland.com, which certainly caused a lot of controversies.
The fact that Nash actually named Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero, who were two of the greatest wrestlers of all time, stating that they didn't have the in-ring personality to match their ability was something that fans hated.
Nash didn't end with that though as he trashed the hug that the two shared at the end of WrestleMania XX, claiming it ended the business. But considering the infamous curtain call moment, that might be the pot calling the kettle black.
