10 Current WWE Wrestlers Who Look Nothing Like They Did Before WWE
Since Triple H has become the head of WWE creative, many fans feel the product has been on a huge upswing. The ratings have steadily increased and there are constant surprises seemingly every week. At this point, it's also fair to say WWE might have the most stacked wrestling roster in the world.

Although the company is full of homegrown talent, many superstars arrived to WWE later in their careers. This means that many of them looked totally different than they do today. Sure, Cody Rhodes was able to bring his "American Nightmare" AEW look to WWE but the same can't be said for the stars on this list of wrestlers who look nothing like they did before arriving to WWE.
10 Karrion Kross
Karrion Kross was one of the big names that Triple H brought back to WWE at the start of his regime. Kross' arrival was met with praise and his first major feud with Drew McIntyre has been great.
Although he did make a name for himself in WWE, Karrion Cross looked a little bit different when he adopted the "Killer Kross" gimmick before his time in the WWE. Unlike today, Kross sported a shaved head and little facial hair. He returned to the company in 2022 with a full head of hair and a beard.
9 Sami Zayn
"The Honorary Uce" had a great run on the independent circuit before arriving to WWE. Long before he was Sami Zayn, he competed as El Generico at various wrestling promotions.
Instead of showing off his long red hair, El Generico sported a mask with red colors and a red cape. The gimmick may seem strange but Zayn did have many great matches and feuds at ROH as El Generico.
8 Matt Riddle
Matt Riddle has become a top star in WWE. Since feuding with Seth Rollins, Riddle has done away with his goofy gimmick, hopefully in an attempt to ground the character for a run at the top of the card.
Before arriving to WWE, Matt Riddle was a professional MMA fighter in the UFC. There, he sported short hair and competed with seemingly no body fat.
7 Dexter Lumis
The Dexter Lumis "crashing Raw" storyline intrigued the audience so much that Dexter is now a well-known name in the company. Although many know him for his comb-over and peering eyes, Lumis didn't always look like this. As "Samuel Shaw," Dexter looked more like a frat guy than a peeping tom with gloves.
6 Ricochet
Ricochet is arguably the most entertaining high flyer on the WWE roster. He has a ton of potential to be a star but is still suffering from aimless booking in WWE. Ricochet first made a name for himself in wrestling as "Prince Puma."

Although he was still as entertaining with the "Puma" gimmick as he is today, he wore a mask and tights that made him appear like an actual puma. He's been unmasked his entire career in WWE.
5 Xavier Woods
Xavier Woods had a run as Consequences Creed in TNA before arriving to WWE. The gimmick portrayed Woods as a boxer and was, somehow, less goofy than his current gimmick as "Xavier Woods".
Sporting boxing tights and an Afro, Woods looked completely different in TNA than he does today. Although he debuted in WWE with a similar look, Woods looks nothing like an "over-the-top boxer" as a member of The New Day.
4 Butch
Next to Sheamus and Ridge Holland, Butch has had a solid debut on the WWE main roster. Even at NXT, Butch was known for his trademark beard and flowing hair.
Before arriving to WWE, Butch sported wrestling tights that were much higher and was a clean/shaven wrestler. He also had much shorter hair which makes him look like a completely different person.
3 Chad Gable
Chad Gable is one of the best wrestling technicians on the WWE roster. Although he struggled to find a solid solo run in the company, Gable has done well next to Otis in the tag team division.
Before arriving to WWE, Gable was actually an amateur wrestler. Instead of sporting a clean-shaven baby face like he does today, Gable rocked a full beard and longer hair.
2 Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio debuted in WCW with his trademark mask. He's worn the mask in WWE for over 2 decades and some fans forget that he was actually unmasked for a long time in WCW. Yes, before arriving to WWE, Mysterio spent his last years in WCW without a mask.

The vignettes that prepared fans for his arrival to WWE showed Mysterio rocking a new version of the mask they all remembered at WCW. Mysterio's face is often portrayed as a big mystery in WWE, but his face used to be all over WCW television.
1 AJ Styles
AJ Styles is one of the biggest stars in the history of TNA. Many long-time Styles fans remember his time in the X-Division and his multiple runs as TNA World Champion. Another thing they remember is how different he looked at the company.
AJ styles didn't have his trademark beard or his trademark long hair. He was clean-shaven and had spiky hair that often looked like it needed a puka shell to complete the look.
