10 Forgotten WWE Women From The 2000s: Where Are They Now?

WWE's modern day Women's Evolution has been one of the brightest spots of today's WWE television. Women have become main event performers, known for their in ring skill rather than as eye candy. Women such as Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley have been as popular as their male counterparts. No longer are women wrestling in lingerie matches or pillow fights. Women are looked as equally strong and athletic sports entertainers.

Yet, in the first decade of the 2000s, the evolution was nowhere near Raw and Smackdown television. Coming out of the Attitude Era, WWE would head into the Ruthless Aggression Era. The era would see an increase in the model turned wrestler headlining the Women's Division. To add more women's talent, WWE would introduce the Diva Search, whose winners became household names. Christy Hemme, Ashley Massaro, Layla El, Eve Torres, Eva Marie all had memorable runs in WWE. Yet, during the same time period, many Divas came in and headed out with less fanfare.

10 Joy Giovanni

After finishing third in the 2004 Diva Search competition, WWE signed Joy Giovanni. Giovanni would debut on Smackdown as a massage therapist. At No Way Out 2005 Giovanni won the Smackdown Rookie of the Year contest, beating 3 other females that would include future superstar Michelle McCool. After months of bikini and lingerie appearances Giovanni was release in July 2005. Giovanni would appear at WrestleMania 25 in 2009 to compete in the Miss WrestleMania Battle Royal.

After her WWE career, Giovanni would open up a massage therapy business in San Diego, California. Today Giovanni is a medium, offering help for those feeling separation from loved ones passed on. Giovanni also offers a 6 month mentoring program.

9 Kristal

Kristal would finish 4th in the 2005 Diva Search competition, yet WWE would sign her and send her to Deep South developmental. By December 2005, she was on the Smackdown roster. Kristal defeated Jillian Hall in her debut Smackdown match. Kristal would compete in a Four Way Bra and Panties match at Great American Bash 2006. In 2007 Kristal would start a romance angle with Theodore Long. Theodore would suffer a heart attack, during his in ring wedding to Kristal. She would be released from WWE weeks later.

From 2007 to 2010, Kristal was in a relationship with Bobby Lashley. Kristal and Lashley have two children. Since leaving WWE, Kristal has become an artist. She highlights her art on social media.

8 Carmella DeCesare

The original WWE Carmella competed in the 2004 Diva Search contest. Carmella would feud with Diva Search winner, Christy Hemme. Carmella and Hemme would wrestle in a Lingerie Pillow Fight on ppv at Taboo Tuesday 2004. Carmella lost the match and soon left WWE. Carmella would also win the Playboy Playmate of the Year in 2004.

After leaving WWE, Carmella would marry NFl quarterback Jeff Garcia in 2007. In 2008, Carmella would pose for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. Today, Carmella is involved in real estate.

7 Rebecca DiPietro

Rebecca DiPietro would compete on the 2006 Diva Search competition, after a successful modeling career. Her modeling career included winning Hawaiian Tropics International Pageant and appearing in Playboy magazine. While Rebecca would be eliminated early from the Diva Search competition, she would get signed quickly by WWE. Rebecca would be sent to Deep South developmental and appear in many bikini segments. In October 2006, Rebecca became a backstage interviewer for the ECW brand. Rebecca would be a lumberjill at Cyber Sunday 2006 and then ask for her release in March 2007.

Since leaving WWE, Rebecca has continued to model and travel all around the world. Rebecca currently has over 70K social media followers. Her instagram tagline is "busy building a business, but I'll be back".

6 Cherry

Cherry

Cherry would debut as the valet to Deuce N Domino in 2007. In April of the same year, Cherry was with Deuce N Domino as they captured the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. At the 2008 Backlash, Cherry would make her ppv debut in a 12 divas tag team match. Deuce N Domino would dump Cherry for Maryse. Cherry would then be involved in Natalya's debut feud. Cherry was released in April 2008.

Today, Cherry is still close personal friends with Natalya. Cherry is on cameo and has prowrestlngtees merchandise. Cherry is also a dog mom, who calls her Yorkie the love of her life.

5 Anastacia Rose

Anastacia Rose would only spend 3 months in WWE. The beautiful model had performed on the reality tv show The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For The Next Doll. After not becoming a Pussycat Doll, Anastacia auditioned for WWE in October 2007. Anastacia would become a backstage interviewer for the Smackdown brand. Her position would only last a few weeks, and WWE officials felt she did a poor job. In January 2008, Anastacia was released from WWE, on social media she said "on to bigger and better things".

She was correct! Anastacia has gone on to have a great career in television and movies. IMDb gives her credit for 27 roles as an actress. She is best known for her roles in House of Lies and Vacation Home Nightmare.

4 Amy Weber

In November 2004, Amy Weber debuted as JBL's image consultant. Yet, the former WWE Diva Search contestant would resign from her WWE position in February 2005. During her brief time, she would feud with the aforementioned Joy Giovanni, who she has a win over in her one career match. Weber would resign from WWE with allegations of harassment and bullying. Weber named Edge and Randy Orton as bullies in a frat house like environment.

Since leaving WWE, Amy Weber got married to film producer David Dginger in 2008. She continued to model and work in music and film. Today, she is active in real estate.

3 Lauren Mayhew

Lauren Mayhew would only be in WWE for one month. Her short term contract allowed her to be the ring announcer for the ECW brand. Mayhew and WWE discussed a longer contract but could not reach agreements and the talented artist moved on from World Wrestling Entertainment.

Mayhew has found a lot of success since her month stint in WWE. She has been a successful songwriter, who has had songs performed on The Voice. Mayhew has released her original music and has also been a host on TheStream.TV. Mayhew has found her most success as a deejay.

2 Nidia

Nidia would win the first Tough Enough in 2001. While the win guaranteed her a year contract with the company she would stay around until 2004. She is best known for her partnership and then rivalry with Jamie Noble. Nidia and Noble would play the part of "trailer park trash" on WWE Smackdown. Nidia was blinded by Tajiri's black mist which led to her wearing dark sunglasses to ringside. Noble would use Nidia's blindness to his advantage which eventually angered her. This led to a match between Nidia and Noble at No Way Out 2004. In November 2004, Nidia was released from WWE.

After WWE in 2010, Nidia would enroll in culinary school in Houston, Texas. Nidia would marry and have 2 children after WWE. She is currently involved in real estate.

1 Linda Miles

In 2002, Linda Miles won the second season of Tough Enough. After being placed on the Raw brand and having a botchfest match with fellow Tough Enough winner Jackie Gayda, Miles was sent to developmental. In June 2003, she would re-debut as Shaniqua, the heel valet of the Basham Brothers. The 6 foot, 166 pound female, dominated the divas of the era. She was released in 2004.

After WWE, the former Rutgers' basketball star went back to the sport. She is currently a college basketball referee. In a 2017 interview, Miles said she still wrestles, but now it's with her son.
