10 Hidden Details You Never Noticed In These WWE Matches
When wrestling fans watch different WWE matches take place, they normally take them at a face value, simply seeing what is happening from an entertainment point of view. Audiences often get wrapped up in the encounter, and that can lead to them missing specific hidden details in the encounters.

Sometimes they are things that the wrestlers themselves throw into the matches intentionally with a bid to have an Easter Egg or to catch fans off guard. Other times it is a mistake or something that happens that people just do not catch, even though they can be happening in plain sight.
10 Never Leaving The Ring (AJ Styles vs. John Cena - Royal Rumble, 2017)
John Cena and AJ Styles created magic together whenever they got into the ring, and their Royal Rumble encounter in 2017 is often considered to be the greatest. Fans were in awe at everything these two legends were doing inside the ring, mainly because it was such an entertaining encounter.
But, what a lot of people might not be aware of is the fact that they never left the ring throughout the entire match. Going to the floor is commonplace nowadays in wrestling, but they kept everything between the ropes in this one.
9 Dealing With A Broken Foot (The Undertaker vs. Mankind - King Of The Ring, 1998)
The Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Mankind is one of the most iconic wrestling matches in the history of the business, and because of that fans tend to know a lot about this. People often recall this one because Mankind took an unholy amount of punishment.

It was an insane situation for him, from being thrown off the top to being sent through the steel roof to hit the ring. However, what people might not be aware of is the fact that the Deadman himself went into that match injured, and he did the entire thing with a broken foot.
8 Carrying The Bulldog (Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog - SummerSlam, 1992)
The SummerSlam main event between Bret Hart and British Bulldog is another iconic wrestling match and one that fans have watched consistently over time. The two men have been praised heavily for their work on this night, but what people don't know is that it is the Hitman that deserves all of that credit.
That is because Bulldog was not 100% that day due to things he was doing in his personal life, and it meant that he had forgotten everything that was supposed to happen in the match. Hart had to guide him through every single aspect of the encounter.
7 Having Fear (Mr. T & Hulk Hogan vs. Paul Orndorff & Roddy Piper - WrestleMania 1)
The first-ever WrestleMania event was a huge match in wrestling history, and it was a legitimate gamble on behalf of Vince McMahon at that time. He took a serious risk in making that match happen, especially since it involved a celebrity in Mr. T.
While things worked inside the ring and on television, behind the scenes there were issues taking place between the wrestlers involved. Because of that, Mr. T was legitimately scared throughout the match that his opponents would intentionally do damage, but that isn't something people would have noticed.
6 Fighting A Hangover (The Rockers vs. The Twin Towers - WrestleMania 5)
There are a lot of stories about Shawn Michaels from the first section of his career, as he was notorious for having an attitude problem behind the scenes. He lived a true rockstar lifestyle, and that was clear heading into WrestleMania 5 when he decided to party the night before.
Things were so bad at that point that he ended up performing in the tag team match with a serious hangover, which could have been an issue. Fortunately, HBK was able to coast through things and still deliver a great performance, and fans likely wouldn't have noticed any difference.
5 Re-Tapes Take Place (Edge vs. Randy Orton - Backlash, 2020)
The match between Edge and Randy Orton and Backlash in 2020 was being billed as the greatest wrestling match ever, and the two veterans certainly put it all on the line in an attempt to try and live up to that. WWE worked hard to ensure that as well, especially since there were no crowds at the time.

The company took full advantage of there being no audience and opted to re-tape certain sections to ensure that the match was up to the standard they wanted. However, it was in the re-tape situation that Edge ended up suffering his injury.
4 Charlotte Remembers (Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey - Backlash, 2022)
Charlotte Flair is a smart wrestler who knows how important it is to feature callbacks in her matches, and that is something she did when facing Ronda Rousey at Backlash in 2022. She recalled a spot from her Falls Count Anywhere classic with Sasha Banks, which is something long-term fans could appreciate.
However, it's the type of hidden detail many will have forgotten. During that match, it was Flair who ended up between the steel rails between the fans, but at Backlash, she turned it around and place Rousey in that situation, showing she had learned.
3 Mocking CM Punk (The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler - Backlash, 2016)
CM Punk is someone that has often rubbed people the wrong way in the wrestling business, and that led to Dolph Ziggler and The Miz mocking him during their excellent Intercontinental Championship match at Backlash in 2016.
This match came just after Punk's disastrous UFC fight against Mickey Gall where he was beaten comfortably, and the two men decided to tap into that. They opened their encounter with the same moves as that fight, subtly mocking Punk.
2 Checking For History (Elimination Chamber Match - Elimination Chamber, 2010)
In 2009 before competing inside the Elimination Chamber, Kofi Kingston ended up being ambushed by Edge, with the Rated-R Superstar taking him out from behind. Kingston wasn't able to compete because of it, and he lost his spot in the match to Edge, who would go on to win.

It was a crafty heel move, but the year after Kingston brought in a very smart detail that many missed. He wasn't the big name in the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Heavyweight Championship, but before he entered the structure, he took the time to look behind him to ensure it didn't happen again.
1 Paying Tribute To A Friend (AJ Lee, Naomi, & Paige vs. Natalya & The Bella Twins - Raw, 3/30/15)
This random six-woman tag team match ended up being AJ Lee's final ever match for WWE, and as it stands, the final match of her entire career. That is something people didn't know about at the time, but the former Divas Champion did, and she took the time to pay tribute to her friend at that moment.
She wrestled the entire match in a Bayley shirt, making it clear that she was a big fan of the NXT star. At the time, Bayley wasn't the big name that she went on to become, and the fact that she did that was a cool detail that people likely didn't pay much attention to at the time.
