10 Real-Life Wrestling Couples That Work For Different Promotions
The land of WWE can sometimes feel like a soap opera, with outrageous storylines that center around long-time rivalries, friends turning into enemies, and sometimes love and relationships. But what about the romance (and drama) that occurs behind the curtain and backstage? Wrestlers and talent often fall in love, sometimes breaking up, but sometimes sticking together even when things get rough.

While couples that work for the same promotion have it made, as they get to share their time together through travel and work, there are some wrestling couples out there that continue to stay together, despite being in different promotions.
10 Shawn Spears and Peyton Royce
These two met during their NXT years, fell in love, and have enjoyed an iconic relationship for years now. While Royce has seen some incredible tag team success in the WWE with a Women's Tag Team Championship reign under her belt (along with partner, Billie Kay), Spears left the company in 2019.

After requesting his release, he would move on to join AEW, and while both have busy schedules working for different wrestling brands, the two ended up getting hitched in August 2019, and seem to be living their "happily ever after".
9 John Morrison and Taya Valkyrie
John Morrison made an explosive return to the WWE in early 2020, after an eight-year absence in the company. He's experienced some success since his return, reuniting with The Miz, and the two are currently enjoying a nice run with those SmackDown's Tag Team titles. Meanwhile, his wife, Taya Valkyrie, whom he met during his years at the Lucha Underground promotion and would eventually wed in June 2018, currently works for Impact Wrestling. Will she ever jump to the WWE and join her hubby? Only time will tell, but the couple does still seem happy, despite working for different companies.
8 Darby Allin and Priscilla Kelly
Darby Allin and Priscilla Kelly are a happily married real-life wrestling couple. Most fans may be familiar with Allin's work within AEW, the company he is currently signed with. Meanwhile, Kelly might be fairly unknown to some wrestling viewers, as she works for Major League Wrestling (MLG); however, she has also been featured on AEW and WWE programs in the last couple of years. She participated in AEW's All Out Casino Battle Royal Match, was part of a match against Britt Baker on a January 2020 episode of AEW Dynamite, and worked WWE's 2018 Mae Young Classic Tournament.
7 Jon Moxley and Renee Young
Most mainstream WWE fans are quite familiar with Jon Moxley and Renee Young's relationship. The two met and fell in love while they both worked together in the WWE, and would end up getting married in 2017. While the "Lunatic Fringe" would jump ship to AEW in 2019, Young has remained an on-air personality for the WWE . Despite working for different wrestling promotions, the two make it work.
In fact, during a recent WWE Backstage episode, where Young, as well as guests Booker T and Xavier Woods, were broadcasting from their homes (due to the COVID-19 quarantine), Moxley crept into Renee's shot (with their dog), just as the team was breaking down the events on the past week of RAW.
6 Jake Something and Ruby Riott
Ruby Riott just made a splashing return to the WWE after recovering from an injury, and recently participated in the main event match during the 2020 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view (PPV). While Shayna Baszler ended up winning that bout and moving on to WrestleMania 36 to battle Becky Lynch for the RAW Women's Championship, at least Riott is lucky in love. She's currently dating Jake Something, known as Jake Deaner to Impact audiences, who also works the Indies circuit.
5 Adam Cole and Britt Baker
Wonder if Adam Cole calls Britt his ultimate "Bay-Bay?" Fans of NXT know Adam Cole all too well as the longest-reigning NXT Champion, as he and his Undisputed Era faction continue to dominate storylines within WWE's yellow and black brand.

He is currently in a relationship with AEW darling (and dentist), Britt Baker, who is making incredible waves within the promotion's women's division.
4 Will Ospreay and Bea Priestley
Currently signed to New Japan Pro Wrestling, and best known for his work in Ring of Honor (ROH), (plus and that little Twitter spat he had with Seth Rollins, circa 2019), Will Ospreay is currently in a relationship with Bea Priestley, who is signed to AEW. The couple has been together since 2017, and despite working within different promotions, they seem to make it work well. The two are set to move to Japan together, so clearly things are getting serious with the couple.
3 Nick Aldis and Mickie James
Nick Aldis (also known as Magnus in the squared circle) and Mickie James met during their years together at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). The two welcomed a baby boy into this world in September 2014, and in 2015 they got married. Mickie returned to the WWE in 2016, and in July of 2019 suffered a torn ACL injury during a match with Carmella. She has had knee surgery since, and works as a color commentator on WWE's Main Event program. Meanwhile, Aldis is signed with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), and is the company's current World Heavyweight Champion.
2 Marty Scurll and Deonna Purrazzo
As an NXTer who has also appeared within matches on Monday Night RAW, Deonna Purrazzo is making some significant strides within the wrestling business and WWE. She is currently dating Marty Scurll, a superstar signed to ROH, who has held the promotion's World Television and World Six-Man Tag Team titles in the past. This young couple continues to juggle the demands of the wrestling business, plus romance, and if their social media handles are any indication of how well they are managing all this, then these two are doing just fine.
1 Cedric Alexander and Big Swole
Part of WWE's RAW brand, Cedric Alexander continues to wow audiences with his incredible athleticism and aerial moves. His better half, Aerial Monroe (who wrestles under the name Big Swole), is currently signed to AEW, and is making a tremendous impact within this promotion's women's division. The couple has been married since 2018, and share an adorable daughter together.
