10 Things Wrestling Fans Need To Know About The Flair Family
The Flair wrestling family began with patriarch Ric Flair, who started wrestling in the 1970s. Flair's sons David and Reid would wrestle alongside their father Ric in WCW, and Ric's daughter Ashley has become better known by her WWE ring name Charlotte Flair. According to WWE records, Ric Flair is a 16-time World Champion over his time wrestling in NWA, WCW, and WWE, though the actual number of reigns is above 20.

While Reid and David Flair tried to break into professional wrestling, against Ric's wishes, Charlotte has become the most successful of Ric's children in professional wrestling. Charlotte has also taken after her father's footsteps in her relationships with Charlotte celebrating her third wedding, this time to fellow professional wrestler Andrade, in 2022.
10 One Of Ric's Kids Didn't Become A Wrestler
Ric Flair's wrestling offspring are relatively well known. Both David and Reid Flair wrestled alongside their father in WCW, while Charlotte has gone on to become a star in her own right. However, one member of Ric Flair's family didn't follow his steps into professional wrestling, and that is his eldest daughter Megan. Megan is Ric's daughter from his first marriage to Leslie Goodman. Goodman and Flair are also the parents to Ric's eldest son David, while Reid and Charlotte are from Ric's second wife Elizabeth Harrell. Despite not stepping into the squared circle herself, Megan still has a connection to professional wrestling beyond her family members.
9 Conrad Thompson Is A Member Of The family
Megan Flair is married to famous wrestling podcaster Conrad Thompson, making him Ric Flair's son-in-law. While many may believe that Thompson used his relationship with Megan Flair to break into professional wrestling podcasts, the two met after Thompson had already begun creating wrestling podcasts. Thompson interviewed Shane Douglas and Jim Cornette for podcast episodes, which helped him break into the world of professional wrestling.

That isn't to say that Thompson's connection to Flair has hurt his career. Since marrying into the Flair family, Thompson has hosted podcast series with several famous wrestlers. Thompson has also become a wrestling promoter, creating the Starrcast wrestling conventions that began in 2018.
8 Charlotte Appeared In WCW
Long before Charlotte became the dominant force in WWE, she appeared in WCW long before she became a wrestler. At 14 years old, Charlotte was on camera after her half-brother David and Vince Russo invaded Flair's home during the feud between David and Ric Flair. Charlotte was also at ringside at Great American Bash 2000, where she and Reid Flair stopped Russo from interfering in the match by handcuffing Russo.

Charlotte would also appear on WWE television years before signing for the company a few times in the 2000s. Due to it being years before she was signed to a WWE contract, she was always called by her real name, Ashley.
7 Flair's Marriages
In May 2022, Charlotte Flair married fellow wrestler Andrade. Both Flair and Almas come from strong wrestling families, with several members of Andrade's family wrestling in Mexico. If the two were to have children together, there would undoubtedly be a lot of pressure for that child to follow in the family's footsteps. The child would be a third-generation Flair, as well as a fourth-generation wrestler from Andrade's family.

However, Andrade is not Charlotte's first husband, or even her first husband in the business. Charlotte was previously married to a man named Rikki Johnson, whom she accused of assaulting her during their marriage. Charlotte's second marriage would be with fellow wrestler Bram from 2013 until their divorce in 2015.
6 Reid Wrestled In All Japan
Many fans remember Reid Flair from his short stint in WCW as a part of Ric's feud with David and Vince Russo. Reid and Charlotte became involved in the angle after David invaded the family house on Nitro. At Great American Bash, Reid and Charlotte would attack Russo to stop him from interfering in Ric's match against David. Reid continued to wrestle in 2009, a long time after the fall of WCW. Reid would wrestle for some independent promotions.
In 2013, Reid traveled to Japan to wrestle for All Japan Pro Wrestling, where David Flair had also worked in 2005. After two months in Japan, Reid returned to the United States shortly before passing away due to a drug overdose.
5 Charlotte Following In Ric's Footsteps
As previously stated, Charlotte is currently on her third marriage. This leaves Charlotte only two weddings behind her father Ric, who has been married five times. Ric's first marriage, to a woman named Leslie Goodman, lasted 12 years and produced Ric's oldest children Megan and David. Ric's second marriage to Elizabeth Harrell lasted 23 years and Harrell is the mother of Charlotte and Reid.
After divorcing Charlotte's mother, Ric would go on a bit of a marriage tear, marrying Tiffany VanDenmark and Jackie Beems within three years before most recently marrying his fifth wife Wendy Barlow. In 2022, rumors began to swirl that Flair and Barlow had split, but the pair later reconciled.
4 David Flair Once Wrestled Dustin Rhodes
Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes had a legendary rivalry throughout their respective careers. Flair and Rhodes often stood toe-to-toe against each other through their days in the NWA and into WCW. Flair and Rhodes would face off against each other over 130 times in singles matches and countless more matches involving Flair's Four Horsemen faction. Their children, David Flair and Dustin Rhodes, faced off one time in a singles match at an event for the United Wrestling Federation in 2007, which was run by Earl Hebner and his brother David.
David would eventually retire from professional wrestling, wrestling his last match in 2009. Meanwhile, Dustin would return to WWE as Goldust, before leaving for AEW in 2019.
3 David Was in WWE Developmental
All in all, David Flair had a forgettable wrestling career, perhaps because Ric never wanted him to become a wrestler in the first place. David wrestled for WCW until the promotion closed, and when WWE purchased WCW, David's contract was picked up by WWE. Instead of being used during the Invasion angle, David was sent to WWE's developmental program, OVW..
In 2002, David would make his one and only WWE televised appearance, losing to The Undertaker in a squash match on SmackDown during Taker's feud with Ric Flair. David was briefly released before being resigned in 2003 to another developmental contract. At the time, David Flair continued to wrestle for OVW, but this time wrestled several dark matches on Velocity and Sunday Night Heat before being released again.
2 Reid Was Mentioned On WWE TV
In 2013, Ric Flair's youngest son and Charlotte's brother Reid Flair passed away due to a drug overdose. After his death, Charlotte would get a pair of tattoos in tribute to her brother. Charlotte later followed in the footsteps of the rest of the family, aside from Megan, becoming a professional wrestler. During a feud between Charlotte and Paige for the Divas Championship, Paige mentioned Charlotte's brother.
During a contract signing segment, Charlotte stated that she was doing this for Reid before Paige replied that he "didn't have much fight in him". Ric would claim that WWE never asked for permission to mention his son before running the angle, though WWE responded with a statement that implied that Charlotte approved the comment before it was said on camera.
1 David Dated Stacy Keibler
While in WCW, David was paired on-screen with Daffney and Crowbar. However, behind the scenes David Flair began dating a different WCW talent, Miss Hancock. As a result of the relationship, Flair would dump Daffney on-screen and align himself with Miss Hancock on television as well. It's unclear how long the relationship lasted, but David would go on to marry his wife in 2004. Miss Hancock, she would later be known as Stacy Keibler in WWE.
Keibler would mainly work for WWE as a valet who occasionally wrestled. Stacy's last match was against Jillian Hall on an episode of Velocity in 2005. In 2011, Keibler made a cameo appearance on Tough Enough and in 2019, she inducted Torrie Wilson into the WWE Hall of Fame.
