10 Things You Didn't Know About Former WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn (Celeste Bonin)

Even though she was not in WWE for a long time, former WWE Superstar Kaitlyn made an impact during her time there. Kaitlyn's real name is Celeste Bonin, and she uses that name for all of her appearances in recent years.

She is from Houston, Texas, and is only 35 years old. Given her young age and athletic ability, she is still in the prime of her life. Celeste has used her time to make a name for herself in multiple industries. In her short WWE career, Kaitlyn was able to build a huge following, but there are many things that fans did not know about her.

Bonin started out her career at a young age and won the John Sherman Classic Bodybuilding Figure and Fitness Championship at just 21 years old. She would then go on to participate in the Arnold Classic, coming in fifth place in her category.

She was 2008's Miss November for the HardFitness calendar and placed in the top 20 of the NPC Junior Nationals that same year. In 2009, she appeared in a feature for Flex Magazine and has maintained her bodybuilder figure since then.

Bonin made her wrestling debut in 2010 under WWE's Florida Championship Wrestling. She competed in a bikini contest using the ring name of Ricky Vaughn. She then started using the name Kaitlyn in FCW right before her on-screen debut on season three of NXT.

Given that the original model for NXT called for the NXT stars to have a mentor, Kaitlyn was assigned to Vickie Guerrero. This would spark a feud between her and Guerrero leading to her becoming the season three winner of NXT, declaring herself as the "Breakout Diva" of WWE.

While on the main roster, she became an instant star after winning the NXT tournament. Kaitlyn started to team with AJ Lee who would turn out to be her biggest rival during her time in WWE. As a team, they were known as The Chickbusters. Kaitlyn also had notable feuds with stars like Natalya and Tamina Snuka.

She would go on to win WWE's Divas Championship; carrying the Women's Division at the time. She would have some interesting storylines with Cody Rhodes as well as Dolph Ziggler. In 2014, she would leave WWE in hopes of building her career in the fitness industry.

In 2018, Bonin would make her return to professional wrestling, competing under her real name. She would go on to work an independent event called Breaking Chains where she would compete against current Impact Wrestling star Rachael Ellering.

She is a former Defiant Women's Champion and is currently the Slamforce Africa Women's Champion. She returned to WWE in 2018 and in 2019, making one-off appearances. She also competed in the Mae Young Classic, but she only made it to the second round.

Bonin was born in 1986 and has one sister. Not much is known about her family, but she has made it clear that they are very important to her.

Growing up, Bonin idealized WWE Hall of Famer and former World Champion, Goldberg. Her move-set and athletic ability are very similar to Goldberg's, so it should not come as that much of a surprise. Though Goldberg and Kaitlyn were not in WWE at the same time, both are in the video game WWE 2K14.

Most of Bonin's relationship history is not known, but she did have a very public relationship with fellow body builder PJ Braun. The body building pair were married in 2014, but they divorced in 2017 due to multiple reasons.

Bonin would then go on to meet Grant Dziak, who is another person whose life revolves around the fitness industry. She announced on Instagram that the two were recently engaged to be married.

4 Her Fur Baby

Most people would consider their pets as a member of the family and Bonin is no different. She has an adorable French bulldog that goes by the name of Simon. Bonin has stated that Simon is her best friend and has been there for her in times of need.

She has described him as a "therapeutic experience" and he is there for her when she is feeling the most anxious. Overall, there is no bond like a dog and their owner, and Bonin has made it known that her bond with Simon is a special one.

There are many current and former wrestling stars that have jumped into podcasting; Bonin is no different. She has a podcast with her long time friend Laurin Conlin and called it The Unglamorous Life. The two launched the show in 2017 and kept it going for about two years.

In 2015, Bonin and her ex-husband PJ Braun opened up a smoothie bar inside a Busy Body Fitness Center in Florida. In 2014, however, she started her own clothing line; Celestial Bodiez. That business became her brand and primary focus, but she is also a spokesperson for Prime Nutrition as well as Blackstone Labs.

Currently, she is also working with her fiancé on his business #Projectthisisme.
