10 Things You Need To Know About Karrion Kross & Scarlett
It's time to pay attention to Karrion Kross and Scarlett. They are here to overthrow the hierarchy of the black and gold brand, and turn it all to black. No one has come into NXT with quite as much immediate impact, instant intrigue and devastating effect as the dark duo.

When he awoke from the Kross Jacket, Tomasso Ciampa must have felt like 'In Your House' had turned into "In Kross's House'. The stunningly dominant victory over NXT's "Daddy" has forced the WWE Universe to sit up and take note. But just who is this enigmatic duo forcing the NXT roster to 'Fall and Prey'?
10 Name Change
For a show where people are routinely beaten with chairs and slammed through tables, the WWE are surprisingly particular when it comes to promoting a certain image with wrestler's names. Just look at the recent War Raiders to Viking Raiders name change debacle.
If 'War' didn't make the cut then 'Killer' Kross wasn't going to get the nod of approval. After 5 years of wrestling under his previous name, a change was needed. Kross spoke recently about the inspirations for 'Karrion'; “I exercised some mythology to the presentation in terms of Charon. He was a ferryman and would carry the souls from the land of the living to the land of the dead. There is another character named Cheiron, who was the son of Cronus, the god of time. My inspirations come from many different places, and I’ve rolled everything into one presentation.”
9 He's Being Compared to Brock Lesnar
During Kross's match with Tommaso Ciampa at In Your House, he executed a flawless and effortless looking F5 on the 200 pound Ciampa. Memories of Brock rag-dolling countless superstars around the ring with his signature move were evoked, leading commentator Tom Phillips to remark, "shades of the Beast Incarnate."
Speaking about the fan's comparisons between himself and Brock after the PPV, Kross said "I was personally flattered especially if you’re going to be compared to the greatest people in the business. It’s not a bad thing." Kross has also faced Brock's great adversary Cain Velasquez, at Triplemania 2019.
8 Real-Life Couple
The two first crossed paths at Impact Wrestling in 2018. Kross's June 14th debut was followed by Scarlett's first appearance on July 26th. Although the pair didn't professionally team up during their stint at Impact, they did pair up behind the scenes.
Talking about their in-ring connection Kross said "We have a synergy where we’re essentially one. I would describe her as the angel of death. She’s going to be the very first thing you’re going to see before everything comes to an end."
7 Not Scarlett's First Time In WWE
Scarlett has made a few appearances for WWE before her NXT debut. She first appeared in 2014 as one of Adam Rose's 'Rosebuds' at the Payback PPV. She retained this role 15 times before moving on.
Her only in-ring performance came in a 2016 squash match against Nia Jax. Billed as Scarlett Bordeaux and sporting a Sasha Banks top, she was quickly dispatched by a then-rising star Jax.
6 Not Kross's First Time In WWE
You're telling me you don't remember the February 16th 2015 RAW tag team match up with Darren Young against The Ascension, a match that resulted in a no-contest when Titus O'Neil inserted himself into the mix? I'm not surprised, Kross wasn't even introduced before The Ascension interrupted the announce team, who didn't even seem to know who he was anyway.

It was on-screen time, albeit brief, that wouldn't be repeated again until this year on NXT.
5 Undefeated So Far
Kross is currently undefeated in WWE. That previous no contest outing against The Ascension aside, Kross is three wins out of three as Karrion in NXT. The first two came as no surprise, against the little known Leon Ruff and Liam Gray. Given the magnitude and production value of Karrion's entrance, it was clear that Kross was getting a push as something special by NXT.

That special something was confirmed at NXT's In Your House with the emphatic defeat over veteran stalwart and former champion Tommaso Ciampa. All three victories have come by submission, a sign that WWE are painting Kross as a dominating force. Don't be surprised to see him go undefeated all the way to winning the NXT Championship.

3 Company Players
It was rumoured recently that as free agents, Kross and Scarlett had the opportunity to choose between joining NXT or jumping straight to the main roster on RAW or SmackDown such was the companies belief in them.
However, it seems that they have as much belief in the company; "I submitted myself to the process of whatever WWE wants to do with me. I’m going to trust this process. So whatever direction they were going to point me in I was going to go full speed. And, respectfully, I had no specific desire to go in one direction or another because I was going to trust the process.”
2 Creative Freedom
Not since The Fiend has a debut entrance caused so much excitement. According to Kross himself, he was given a lot of creative input when it came to how it was presented and the imagery used in his entrance.

The music, in particular, demonstrates the creative freedom the hot prospects have been given. All the vocals including the voice repeating the premonition that "the end is here" and the ominous "Fall and Prey" chant is none other than Scarlett.
1 Future Champion
The future looks very bright (or should that be dark) for Karrion Kross & Scarlett. After just 3 matches it appears that NXT is ready to put Kross in the Championship picture. The decisive victory over Ciampa proved his worth, and an ominous message from Scarlett, leaving an egg-timer counting down in the ring in front of Adam Cole, has proved his interest.
Takeover SummerSlam has been touted as the event that Cole finally relinquishes the title, but will it be Velveteen Dream or Karrion Kross to carry the brand forwards. Only time will tell.
