With over 30 years under his belt as a competitor, he has worked a ton of gimmick matches to cull ideas from, even if not every one was a classic, or instantly memorable. Here are a few gimmick matches that The Game participated in that fans may have forgotten about.

One of the strangest storyline stretches of Triple H’s career towards the fall and end of 2011. He had a mini-feud with CM Punk, but that got shuttered over to The Game against his old buddy, Kevin Nash who decided to attack CM Punk, because Triple H ordered the hit via text. It eventually led to Nash assaulting his old friend with his own weapon of choice. At TLC 2011, vengeance for The Game came in the form of a Sledgehammer Ladder Match. Naturally HHH was able to defeat his frenemy by snagging the hammer and smashing Big Daddy Cool.

Solely because of the fact that Triple H would wind up with all kinds of mud and pig slop on him, it’s easy to think that The Hog Pen Match against Henry Godwinn was part of his long list of post-Curtain Call crow eating. But the match actually took place several months prior to that infamous moment. As for the match itself, it was standard fare for The New Generation Era with the Connecticut Blue Blood getting heaved into the pen.

7 Boot Camp Match Vs. Sgt. Slaughter - In Your House 19: Degeneration X

It was more of a backdrop for the DX vs. Corporation feud as Shane McMahon and The Boss Man quickly started to beat down HHH until DX made the save.

Of the Three Faces Of Foley, Triple H might the only one to have brought the absolute best out of them. But none more than Mankind. Heading into the Unforgiven PPV, there was a Six Pack Challenge scheduled for the vacant WWE title. Triple H was at odds with Mr. McMahon during this time and has to win at least three matches in five match gauntlet series to be allowed in the match. One of those matches was against Mankind in a Booker Room Brawl, which he was able to survive after Mankind missed a huge leap, and HHH escaped the room.

Thankfully the Katie Vick nonsense was a week earlier, which made fans want to vomit for all the wrong reasons, but gave Kane a storyline reason to want to bury The Game. It took both Kane and an assist from HBK to do it, and it wasn’t for the title, but The Big Red Machine got the job done.

When Raw came to Las Vegas, they held the first ever Raw Roulette. Plenty of matches on the card were the equivalent of Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal, and the wheel landed on a Blindfold Match for Triple H and D-Lo Brown. The WWE Champion Triple H drew a non-title match too, but somehow was still able to pull out the W thanks to interference from Ric Flair.

1 Street Fight Vs. Randy Orton - Raw January 11, 2021

Triple H Vs Randy Orton Street Fight Cropped

In what would turn out to be Triple H’s final match, it was poetic that it was in a Thunderdome Street Fight against Randy Orton. The two members of Evolution fought all over ringside before Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss interfered to jump Orton, continuing their march to WrestleMania 37. Had his health not put him in jeopardy, chances are this wouldn't have been both The Game's final match and gimmick match, but hopefully the WWE Creative Director is at peace with retirement.
