10 Wrestlers Who Avoid Social Media Like The Plague
Social media has become an important part of society that businesses must try to use. WWE, AEW and every other wrestling company tries to bring in new fans or enhance the overall experience with platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Wrestlers typically use those platforms to build a fan base, but not everyone enjoys it.

An extremely toxic culture exists on most outlets with hate comments or fans trying to force debates on almost every noteworthy performer’s social media posts. Quite a few established wrestlers have made it clear they don’t enjoy this aspect of the job. The following names have started to avoid social media like the plague with good reason.
10 The Undertaker
WWE started to make sure social media was a big part of the job in the late 2000s with new platforms like Twitter and Instagram taking off. The Undertaker was a rare name exempt from having to do things on social media since he usually wanted to protect his character.

Future years saw Undertaker developing a social media presence, but he only posts when promoting his events every so often. Undertaker spent some time on social media before realizing that maybe it is best to not use it outside of business.
9 Jon Moxley
One of the rare wrestlers in their prime to get away with not using social media is Jon Moxley. Both WWE and AEW have seen Moxley preferring to keep his time away from the internet and avoiding the pointless pitfalls of social media.
Moxley has a couple of pages, but he has someone else doing his posts which rarely happens. Few wrestlers are as private as Moxley, which makes it funnier that his wife Renee Paquette is among the most social and popular personalities online.
8 Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens used to be considered the best at social media before the toxic sides started to grow stronger. An argument can be made that Owens was among the greatest wrestlers in terms of building his name value before WWE thanks to fans connecting with him on a personal level.
Even the WWE run started off with KO having great tweets and sharing moments with fans. That has changed immensely as Owens revealed he hates using social media these days. Owens does still have a Twitter account, but he rarely uses it after once being among the most active.
7 Bobby Lashley
Most names on this list have talked about why they don’t like social media, but he shows it by example. Lashley remains a top WWE star and has many followers on his platforms due to that name value. However, he is very selective about what he posts online these days.
Lashley’s Twitter account only retweets WWE things he does or comments/shares something promoting the shows. Instagram is a bit more active for Lashley, but once again only shares workout videos or things promoting WWE like how a social media handler page is run.
6 Eddie Kingston
AEW signed a lot of names that saw their careers taking off beforehand thanks to social media on the independent circuit. Eddie Kingston is the opposite as someone that has admitted social media could only hurt him rather than help him.
Twitter used to be a common platform for Eddie to sell his matches by throwing shade at opponents, but he deleted it due to disliking the changes in social media. Kingston no longer has to be forced into using social media now that he’s signed to a big company in an upper-card role.
5 Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch recently made news when talking about how exactly she uses social media, or more appropriately how little she uses it. Wrestling fans love Becky’s tweets and view her as one of the better representatives for the industry online.

However, a recent interview saw Lynch revealing that she doesn’t have social media apps on her phone to avoid having to see it. Becky did admit she does text someone when she wants a tweet or photo out there to still have a presence while avoiding it.
4 Shane McMahon
The McMahon family has tried to make social media a part of their careers. Vince and Stephanie used it in the most corporate way possible when trying to use it to market WWE more. Linda had mostly negative blowback for her political Twitter presence, but she was active as well.
Shane was the least active on social media, despite getting on multiple platforms in his WWE return. However, the way Shane used it was extremely selective and shows that he doesn’t like having his life out there. Shane has tried to remain private any time he is not in the WWE world.
3 Roman Reigns
There is no bigger star in the wrestling world today than Roman Reigns due to his legendary world title reign still going strong. WWE completely rebuilt the promotion to become the hottest they’ve been in decades with Roman as the top overall star.
Reigns has shared that certain things have changed along the way, including how he views social media. A recent quote circulated from Roman claiming that he was only posting character things for promotion. Reigns is another top star that sees the negatives of paying too much attention to social media.
2 Brock Lesnar
WWE signed Brock Lesnar to return as a much bigger star than when he left due to his massive drawing appeal as a UFC attraction. Brock did have some official social media pages since WWE basically required it, but everyone knew a handler was making character tweets for him.
Few wrestlers are as anti-social as Lesnar who left in 2004 because he couldn’t handle being around people with all the traveling. Brock had enough leverage to not have to use social media as he hates everything about it.
1 Bryan Danielson
The greatest instance of a recluse being a great performer in wrestling is Bryan Danielson. Everyone loves the money, leverage, and respect from being a big star, but Danielson hates the fame. Social media as a whole represents things Bryan feels are wrong with society. Danielson has social media pages, but he rarely posts on Instagram and has a handler for Twitter.
A recent funny story saw Bryan taking Blackpool Combat Club teammate Wheeler Yuta on a hike in the hot sun and making him work out as a punishment for losing a match. Danielson was so bad at social media that he couldn’t figure out how to post it the day of the PPV and shared it later in the week when having someone else post for him.
