10 Wrestlers Who Competed In Multiple Matches In The Same Night At WrestleMania

Wrestling multiple times in one night is not an uncommon feat but to do it at WrestleMania is extra special. Nevertheless, only 10 men in history have participated on numerous occasions in one single night at WrestleMania.

Pulling double duty is a special thing to do as many top talents get to showcase their skills and further progress in a tournament. Moreover, on some occasions, some wrestlers are punished to compete in multiple matches that mean they are weakened when it comes to their match later on in the event. WrestleMania is The Showcase of Immortals, and to see some of the big names compete more than once is a treat.

Furthermore, at WrestleMania IV, there was a one-night tournament to crown a new WWE Champion. Therefore, the majority of entries competed multiple times at WrestleMania IV, which was a unique experience. Some of the biggest moments in WrestleMania history have come from Superstars wrestling more than once, which adds to the prestige of WrestleMania.

10 Ted DiBiase

DiBiase

Ted DiBiase is one of the main reasons why the WWE Championship was vacated, and the WrestleMania IV tournament was born. Andre The Giant controversially defeated Hulk Hogan for the WWE Title, and Andre immediately handed the championship over to The Million Dollar Man.

At WrestleMania IV, DiBiase kickstarted the tournament by defeating Jim Duggan who prevailed in the 1988 Royal Rumble match. DiBiase continued his progression into the tournament by defeating Don Muraco in the quarterfinals. Nonetheless, DiBiase received a bye in the semifinals and went straight to the final as Hogan and Andre's clash ended in a double disqualification. Unfortunately for DiBiase, he was unable to capture the WWE Championship as he lost to Randy Savage in the final.

9 Greg Valentine

Valentine

One of the greatest Intercontinental Champions of all time is Greg "The Hammer" Valentine. Valentine was managed by "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart, and he got off to a strong start by defeating fellow former Intercontinental Champion Ricky Steamboat to book his place in the last eight.

Valentine came up against eventual champion "Macho Man" Randy Savage in the quarterfinals, and they had a decent encounter which only lasted six minutes. The Hammer failed to progress any further with Savage prevailing and going on to win the WWE Championship.

8 Don Muraco

Magnificent Don Muraco

"Magnificent" Don Muraco had the credentials to be WWE Champion as he captured the Intercontinental Championship twice in the early 1980s. Muraco began his campaign against Dino Bravo, and Muraco was accompanied to ringside by former WWE Champion "Superstar" Billy Graham.

Muraco was victorious by disqualification after Bravo put the referee in harm's way, and he took a formidable forearm from Muraco. Unfortunately, Muraco's momentum was soon halted because The Million Dollar Man ended Muraco's quest to become WWE Champion.

7 Yokozuna

Yokozuna

As of 2021, Yokozuna is the only man to compete in two matches at multiple WrestleManias. Yokozuna won the 1993 Royal Rumble match, and thus he became the first Royal Rumble winner to compete for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania when he faced off with Bret Hart at WrestleMania IX.

Yokozuna defeated Bret to become the youngest WWE Champion at the time. However, his reign was short-lived as Hulk Hogan defeated him in an impromptu match, which marked the only time that the WWE Championship change hands twice in one night at WrestleMania. A year later, at WrestleMania X, Yokozuna had to pull double duty but this time he was prepared. He retained the WWE Championship against Lex Luger as Luger pushed Mr. Perfect, and he disqualified him. In the main event, The Hitman reversed the outcome from WrestleMania IX, and he ended Yokozuna's outstanding 280-day reign as WWE Champion.

6 One Man Gang

One Man Gang

One Man Gang had WWE Championship title aspirations under the tutelage of Slick, heading into WrestleMania IV. One Man Gang had plenty in the tank to go deep in this tournament as he defeated Bam Bam Bigelow within three minutes by count-out.

One Man Gang would have been delighted to see Jake Roberts and Rick Rude's 15-minute clash go to a time-limit draw, which eliminated both men from the tournament. Moreover, a well-rested One Man Gang received a bye into the last four, where he collided with Randy Savage. Slick got involved by handing his charge a cane, but the referee disqualified him for using it. It would have been a disappointing way for Gang to bow out of the tournament, as he was in touching distance to reaching the final.

5 Randy Savage

Savage

From start to finish, "Macho Man" Randy Savage was the MVP of the WWE Championship tournament at WrestleMania IV. A year prior, Savage lost the Intercontinental Championship to Ricky Steamboat in one of the greatest matches in WWE history.

Savage began his quest for his maiden WWE Championship by overcoming Butch Reed in the first round, and Greg "The Hammer" Valentine in the quarterfinals. Savage benefitted from One Man Gang getting disqualified which saw Macho Man book his place in the tournament final. Lying in wait was Ted DiBiase, who was well-rested after seeing the only two former WWE Champions in the draw, Andre The Giant and Hogan draw. It was Savage's crowning moment as he defeated DiBiase with his patented Elbow drop, and he celebrated with Miss. Elizabeth on his shoulders.

4  Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan

Fans could not get enough of Daniel Bryan and the leader of the Yes Movement was a pivotal part of the success of WrestleMania XXX. In one of the best opening matches in WrestleMania history, Daniel Bryan defeated Triple H, booking his place in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match with Randy Orton and Batista in the main event.

The American Dragon sold his injuries to perfection in the titular bout, and his never-say-die attitude saw him overcome the odds. Bryan executed his Yes Lock which forced The Animal to tap out which saw Bryan get his WrestleMania moment as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. It was a long time coming, and Bryan no doubt deserved to have this moment after numerous setbacks.

3 Hulk Hogan

Hogan

WrestleMania IX is arguably the worst WrestleMania in WWE history and you can see why when there were questionable decisions throughout the show. Hulk Hogan teamed up with his good friend Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, and they unsuccessfully challenged Ted DiBiase and IRS in their WWE Tag Team Championship match.

However, Hogan revealed that he would challenge the WWE Champion in a future title match, and that came in the main event. Yokozuna dethroned Bret Hart, and Hogan being Hogan, took the spotlight away from Yokozuna. He squashed Yokozuna with ease, and he was once again the WWE Champion in one of the most controversial title changes in WrestleMania history. This title change was done as The Hulkster had a farewell tour before he headed to WCW.

2 Bret Hart

As the co-winner of the 1994 Royal Rumble, Bret Hart had a chance to regain the WWE Championship he had not held since WrestleMania IX. Before he could think about the WWE Title, he had his hands full against his brother Owen in the opening match at WrestleMania X. The two tore the house down in a match that epitomized technical wrestling.

The Excellence of Execution suffered a surprising loss to Owen but he had no time to dwell on his loss, as he had to prepare for his upcoming WWE Title match with Yokozuna. It ended up being a successful night for Hart, as he recaptured the WWE Championship much to the delight of the fans.

1 Seth Rollins

Rollins

Seth Rollins rocked up to WrestleMania 31 as Mr. Money in the Bank, and he was on a collision course with his former ally from The Authority, Randy Orton. The Architect lost a competitive match, with Orton executing one of the best RKO's when he superbly countered Rollins' Curb Stomp in mid-air.

However, Rollins' night was about to get better as there was no indication that Rollins would cash in his Money in the Bank contract. Rollins raced down to ringside and interfered in Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns' WWE Championship match. One of the most unpredictable endings in WrestleMania history happened when Rollins pinned Reigns and captured his first WWE Championship.
