10 Wrestlers You Didn't Realize Wrestled For WWE In 2007
2007 was not a good year for WWE, to say the least, as several unfortunate events occurred and the product as such was average at best. Still there were some great moments featuring John Cena, Edge, Batista, Randy Orton, The Undertaker, among others.

But beyond the top superstars, in 2007 there were several wrestlers who wrestled for WWE, and maybe you forgot, or just didn't realize it. We are talking about wrestlers that one would assume were already retired at that time appeared in WWE, or some current stars that were already in the company in 2007.
10 Drew McIntyre
Believe it or not, Drew McIntyre worked for WWE in 2007. He made his debut on the October 12, 2007, episode of Friday Night SmackDown defeating Brett Major in a singles match.
McIntyre had two more televised singles matches that year, and won both of them. It was a great start to his WWE career. No one imagined what would follow in McIntyre's career, the highs and lows, the good times and the bad, as he has had an unpredictable career, to say the least.
9 Ted DiBiase
Ted DiBiase is a WWE legend, he left his mark on the company in the 1980s and 1990s, being one of the most iconic heels of all time. DiBiase's last WWE match had been in 1993, and most fans thought they would never see him in a wrestling ring again.

However, DiBiase returned to the ring in 2007 for a 15th Anniversary Battle Royal on an episode of Monday Night Raw. "The Million Dollar Man outlasted 16 men and was the winner of the match.
8 Bob Backlund
In that same Battle Royal won by Ted DiBiase, also participated the two-time former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Bob Backlund.
You probably don't remember or just didn't know, but yes, Backlund wrestled for WWE in 2007, 19 years after he won his first WWE World Title, a reign that lasted 2135 days. That Battle Royal was Bob Backlund's last WWE match.
7 Shawn Spears
Current AEW wrestler Shawn Spears, and formerly known in WWE as Tye Dillinger, wrestled for WWE in 2007. The young Shawn Spears faced off against Super Crazy on an episode of Heat.
Spears filled the role of a jobber and that was it, that was his only WWE match that year. Spears continued to work hard in independent promotions until he returned to WWE in 2013 and began wrestling in NXT.
6 The Nasty Boys
The Nasty Boys were a great tag team in the 1990s, in fact, they were three-time WCW World Tag Team Champions and won the WWE World Tag Team Titles as well. They left WWE in 1993 and fell off the radar in 1997, but in 2007 they returned for a WWE match.
It's no wonder you didn't realize this, as it was a dark match against Dave Taylor and Drew McIntyre before an episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The Nasty Boys were victorious, by the way.
5 Marty Jannetty
Marty Jannetty worked for WWE between 1987 and 1996. He was never a top superstar, but he was good at his job and fulfilled his role as a mid-card wrestler to perfection. He was Intercontinental Champion once and delivered several good matches over the years.
With that said, it is surprising that he wrestled for WWE in 2007. On the special 15th anniversary edition of Monday Night Raw, Jannetty faced off against Mr. Kennedy in a singles match, although he lost.
4 Jon Moxley
Believe it or not, Jon Moxley wrestled in WWE in 2007, and he did so under the name Jon Moxley. That's right, Moxley had already made his WWE debut long before he became Dean Ambrose and a member of The Shield.

Moxley appeared on the January 19, 2007, episode of Heat, when he lost a singles match to Val Venis. That was Moxley's only WWE match that year, so it's no wonder you didn’t realize it happened.
3 Jimmy Snuka
Jimmy Snuka began his wrestling career in 1971, and he came to WWE in 1982. He had several great moments in his career, including good matches with innovative moves.
What fans don't remember is that he returned to WWE in 2007 and even had a PPV match. That's right, at Vengeance 2007, Snuka teamed up with Sgt. Slaughter to face WWE Tag Team Champions Deuce and Domino, although that ended up being one of the worst matches of the year.
2 Dean Malenko
Dean Malenko, remembered as an exceptional technical wrestler, had very good moments in ECW, WCW and WWE, although perhaps in WWE he did not shine as much as in other promotions.
He came to WWE in 2000, but by the last quarter of 2001 he had left the company. He was inactive since then, but came out of retirement for one more match in WWE, although very few fans know it. On February 27, 2007, Malenko faced Mistico in a dark match on Friday Night SmackDown.
1 Kofi Kingston
Kofi Kingston has had an extraordinary career, as he is a WWE Grand Slam Champion and has won 22 titles in total. Obviously, he has many years working for WWE, but surely you didn't realize that he was already in the company in 2007.
Kofi didn't appear on TV that year, but he had 14 dark matches, of which he won 11. So, technically, Kingston wrestled for WWE in 2007, but that's okay if you didn't realize that.
