10 WWE Wrestlers Who Should Worry With Vince McMahon Back In Charge

If reports from the likes of Fightful Select and other sources are to be believed, then Vince McMahon is back in charge of WWE, much like he was before his brief “retirement”. Although it is claimed that Triple H is still the head of creative, McMahon oversaw a lot of the Raw after WrestleMania 39, with many rewrites and changed plans.

If this is the status quo going forwards, then there are some wrestlers who should be worried. Prior to stepping down, McMahon had a tendency of not only burying certain wrestlers, but also releasing them too. Unfortunately for several on the roster, a return from McMahon won’t be a good thing.

10 Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt and Vince McMahon didn’t quite see eye to eye, and much of that is what led to Wyatt’s release from WWE back in 2021. If reports are to be believed, McMahon wasn’t the kindest when it came to Wyatt.

Even though Wyatt’s WWE comeback hasn’t been all that people hoped, it would probably get worse under McMahon, or he would cut his losses once again and release Wyatt due to creative differences and a clash of personality.

9 Damage CTRL

The Damage CTRL faction have certainly been botched under Triple H, but with how the women’s division was faring under Vince McMahon prior to the change, things don’t bode well even more so for this group.

Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai in particular will likely suffer, with less focus on their talents in the ring and potential to have strong character work. Bayley may be okay, but even her future could be up in the air given the change in creative climate.

8 Butch

Butch Xavier Woods

Fans were alarmed when “Butch” made his debut instead of “Pete Dunne”, but it has been a success, especially since Triple H came in charge and made the Brawling Brutes more serious. Signs have been pointing to a potential gimmick change, but that will get thrown out the window with McMahon back.

He is the one who created the Butch gimmick, and it is hard to see him willing to shed it for the return of the much loved Pete Dunne character, which is far from McMahon’s idea of what a star should be.

7 LA Knight

LA Knight Cropped

LA Knight has been delivering on all cylinders recently, however it is hard to forget what he was when McMahon was in power. He debuted on the main roster as “Max Dupri”, the leader of the Maximum Male Models.

Since he got rid of this gimmick it showed just how braindead the decision was to have him stripped of everything that makes him so good. Even with his growing popularity, he should be worried about the return of McMahon, who clearly saw something he didn’t like in the “LA Knight” character.

6 Emma

Emma WWE

McMahon is likely to make the call to reduce the roster, especially since the recent sale. Emma isn’t doing much on the main roster right now, and she has been released in the past, so there could be a chance that she is one of the first to go once again.

She hasn’t been given much opportunity under Triple H, and this could well lead to a bad direction for her under new creative direction.

5 Latino World Order

Zelina Vega Legado del Fantasma Cropped

Vince McMahon has made it abundantly clear over the years that anything related to WCW hasn’t got much of a place in WWE. There is no coincidence that War Games only made its main roster debut last year when Triple H came into power.

Rey Mysterio recently reformed the Latino World Order - an old WCW faction which was inspired by the nWo. However, if Raw after WrestleMania was any indication, the members of Legado Del Fantasma could already be shunned from plans, and the lWo may not even be a thing going forwards. McMahon hasn’t been too big on factions in general in recent years, so there isn’t much hope for a throwback WCW gimmick.

4 Johnny Gargano

Johnny Gargano NXT

Unfortunately for Johnny Gargano, he is someone who simply does not fit the mold of Vince McMahon’s idea of a “superstar”. Despite an incredible workrate and always delivering in the ring, he is too small for McMahon to consider pushing. Only on the odd occasion has anything of Gargano’s ilk managed to get a significant push.

Even under Triple H, Gargano hasn’t had too much luck despite being one of the faces of the boom period of NXT. He feels like an afterthought right now anyway, and that likely won’t change going forwards, especially now.

3 Bronson Reed

Bronson Reed was initially released under Vince McMahon, and that alone doesn’t bode well for him. Reed has impressed upon his WWE return, but he was impressive before that anyway, so it doesn’t necessarily look good for him.

There is every chance that McMahon looks at Reed now and has changed his opinion, but at one point at least he saw Reed as someone who was surplus to requirements, and there is a high chance that happens again.

2 Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens have been at the forefront of one of the best WWE storylines in recent memory. However, Vince McMahon in recent years has notoriously not booked with a long-term goal or mindset, and avoids small details and nuances.

Zayn and Owens have benefitted in a huge way from Triple H’s style, but could suffer a great deal of lost momentum if they are now treated like just another tag team on the roster without any further character development.

1 Gunther

There were rumors last year that Vince McMahon was set to bury Gunther before he stepped down from power. Since then, Gunther has been the MVP of WWE, developing a legendary IC Title reign, going unbeaten in singles competition, and setting a Royal Rumble record.

With McMahon, expect him to get pinned in non-title matches, lose the IC Title, and become a dancing dinosaur, a USA-hating heel, or something else ridiculous and silly.
