10 WWE Wrestlers Who Were Fired For Stupid Reasons
WWE is quite picky about the types of wrestlers they sign. New talents join WWE from time to time but most of them don't retain their job for long. Apart from holding certain in-ring skills, wrestlers have to keep the management happy in order to maintain their spot in WWE.

One of the sure-fire ways a wrestler can lose their job is to break one of the WWE's enormous set of rules. Although some wrestlers were rightfully fired, WWE also made several firings that didn't make much sense. Sometimes Vince McMahon releases his employees for reasons that are downright stupid!
17 Daniel Bryan
In 2010, Nexus laid out a vicious attack on John Cena, which eventually led to their downfall. One of the Nexus rising stars was Daniel Bryan. The night of the Nexus invasion, Bryan did two things that cost him his job: he choked former WWE announcer Justin Roberts with a tie and spat on Cena.

Apparently, choking someone on PG TV was an act of extreme violence and it was enough to get Daniel fired from WWE. However, he was hired the following month due to public pressure. Bryan made his return in the main event of SummerSlam.
16 Dawn Marie

Dawn Marie announced her pregnancy in 2005. While she was on maternity leave, WWE decided to terminate her contract. Marie's contract was up in six months, but the company didn't want to wait further. This put a lot of stress on the former WWE Diva and she filed a lawsuit against the company.
Her contract was up in a few months but WWE didn't want to wait any longer. Marie was given a reason that the creative team didn't have any plans for her and she wasn't needed. Later, when Dawn filed a lawsuit against WWE with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for wrongfully firing her, the case was settled for an undisclosed amount in 2007.
14 Enzo Amore
Once in NXT, Dusty Rhodes tried to help Baron Corbin brush up his promo skills. When Enzo Amore raised his hand, almost everyone looked at him, and then, he broke wind.
He also revealed that because of this incident, WWE fined him $250 and also fired him. However, Amore was hired the very next day he came to work. WWE hasn't made a statement one way or another about Enzo's claim. However, considering that WWE has never denied this claim, it's safe to assume that Enzo is speaking the truth.
13 Paul London

The night Vince McMahon faked his explosion in a limo, WWE superstars watched him leave the building. Most wrestlers were expressionless but Paul London was seen laughing at Vince.
McMahon noticed it and although he didn't fire London straightway, his importance on the roster gradually diminished to the point of becoming a jobber which eventually led to his release in November 2018. That infamous smile was one of the reasons for Paul's downfall and eventual release in WWE. Although the smile didn't lead to his immediate release, it led London on a downward spiral that would lead to his departure from the company.
11 Emma

Emma was fired for shoplifting an iPad case at Walmart. The security cameras showed that she hadn't paid $20 for the case, and when WWE got to know about this, they issued a statement that Emma was liable for her actions.
After Emma lost her job over this, some people asked WWE to reconsider the decision. One of those persons was Jim Ross who made a point that there were wrestlers in WWE who committed serious crimes than Emma that were still employed. On Emma's defense, her lawyer said that the wrestler had simply forgotten to checkout her case and paid for the rest of the items she also purchased.
9 Frankie Kazarian

Frankie Kazarian got himself into hot water with WWE when he refused to cut his hair. Kazarian refused to give in to the situation and later said that he asked for his release from WWE. But reports later confirmed that he lost his job because Vince McMahon fired him due to his refusal to cooperate with the management. The creatives had also pitched a new gimmick to Kazarian, which he rejected.
7 Muhammad Hassan
Muhammad Hassan had one of the controversial characters WWE fans legitimately hated. In 2005, WWE taped an episode of SmackDown where Hassan brought five masked goons to attack The Undertaker after his manager failed to beat The Phenom.
The London bombing had happened on the same day WWE aired the segment on television and instead of the management, it was Hassan who paid the price. This segment was seen as a disrespect to those who suffered during the bombings. WWE quickly wrote Hassan off the television and he was fired less than two months later.
6 Mr. Kennedy

Randy Orton never had a high opinion of Mr. Kennedy during his run with WWE. In a 10-man tag team match on Raw, Kennedy dropped a back-suplex on Orton, which seemed very dangerous to The Viper who later complained about it to higher-ups in WWE.

Vince McMahon wasn't in the mood that day and, when Orton brought up the issue, he made a decision that booted Kennedy out of WWE.
4 Brad Maddox

Brad Maddox fought his final WWE match against R-Truth. It was a dark match before SmackDown and Maddox addressed the fans as "pricks" which was a banned word by WWE. Instead of putting a fine on him, Vince decided to fire the wrestler.
Ironically, a few months later, McMahon dropped an F-bomb on Monday Night Raw and the fans called out WWE for their hypocrisy.
2 Robbie McAllister
1 ![robbie-mcallister]()
One half of The Highlanders, Robbie McAllister, made a mistake by showing up as a spectator for a TNA event in March 2008. Robbie's face was shown on TNA television and it didn't take long for WWE to notice that one of their Superstars attended a rival company's show.
His appearance also cost Rory McAllister (the other half of The Highlanders) his job in WWE. WWE management was highly offended by Robbie appearing on TNA television, leading to his release from the company in August.
