15 Wrestlers That Kept The Same Relationship Their Entire Career

Maintaining the same relationship working a normal 9-5 job is hard enough, but imagine being a wrestler and doing so. Make no mistake, even the greasiest and most detestable wrestlers have plenty of opportunities to cheat on the road, albeit perhaps not to the same extent as movie stars and professional athletes in the four major North American sports - still, the temptation is always there given their celebrity status. Listen to stories told by Ric Flair or, on the other side, former Divas like Sunny, and you'll understand the challenges that exist with keeping a steady relationship while working in the industry. Hell, John Cena and Nikki Bella recently announced they were calling off their engagement and Cena only works a part-time schedule; yet, both are extremely busy with other endeavors.

Despite their failure, that type of relationship might actually work when both people are busy - look at Naomi and Jimmy Uso or The Miz and Maryse. It's hard when one person is home two days a week at most, but that hasn't stopped these 15 Superstars from making it work. In fact, the majority of these WWE stars have been with the same woman since either high school or college, while others have been together throughout the duration of their wrestling careers.

15 Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens might be one of the bigger names on this list in regard to popularity and merchandise sales, but he has to come first as the most obvious inclusion. Since his rise from NXT led him to become the second-ever WWE Universal Champion, KO has been the subject of several WWE documentaries in which he speaks passionately about his love for his wife and two children. He also doesn't hide his affection for his family on social media platforms.

Owens married his longtime girlfriend Karina in 2007, when he first started competing in Ring of Honor. He often attributes her as one of his biggest supporters during his time on the independent circuit and one of the main reasons he continued to work toward achieving his dream of reaching the WWE.

14 Chris Jericho

For someone as busy as Chris Jericho has been throughout his career - he's been a full-time/part-time wrestler, lead singer of the rock group Fozzy, gameshow host, and host of a popular podcast - it's amazing that he can find time to spend with his wife, let alone maintain a successful marriage for over 18 years. Jericho married his wife Jessica Lockhart in 2000 and, while she hasn't been by his side for his entire career (his early stints in Canada and Japan), the couple were dating while Jericho was in WCW establishing himself as a mainstream star.

They were actually introduced to each other by Glenn Gilbertti, better known as Disco Inferno, because of course they were. He was introduced to her at a Japanese restaurant and, after getting her number, they spoke daily before going on intimate dates. As he wrote in his book A Lion's Tale, "We got to know each other well before anything physical happened. It was the exact opposite of the way most relationships begin and showed us that we had something special."

13 Maryse

We can't include The Miz on this list as he was already a somewhat-established Superstar in the WWE when he first met his now wife, but Maryse has only been linked to The Miz since joining the company. They actually first met in 2006 as Miz was host of the 2006 Diva Search competition and, while they didn't begin dating immediately, Miz has since stated that he was attracted to Maryse after she cut a vicious promo on him in her native language of French. Naturally, he didn't understand a word of it, but the passion excited him.

They began dating about one year later and finally tied the knot in 2014. As you probably know, Maryse recently gave birth to the couple's first child, Monroe Sky and, in addition to starring together in Total Divas, they're set to appear in a USA Network spinoff Miz & Mrs.

12 Kevin Nash

With aliases like Big Sexy and Big Daddy Cool, you might expect Kevin Nash to have had his pick of the litter throughout his career in regard to women. He's a giant and a good-looking dude to boot, so it wouldn't be shocking to hear some of his wild stories involving women during the heyday of The Kliq. While it's highly possible those stories exist, they haven't been made public by this point, which is likely a sign that Nash has remained faithful to his wife of 30 years. Hell, even if he hasn't, keeping a healthy marriage for that amount of time is a major accomplishment.

He married his wife, Tamara, a licensed realtor, in 1988 and, while Nash is active on social media platforms, his wife seems to live a very private life. We're sure there have been some issues as both Nash and his son Tristen were arrested on Christmas Eve 2014 in a domestic dispute, but the couple are still married to this day.

11 Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio is a legend in his home country of Mexico due to his impressive in-ring talent and wealth of success in both WCW and WWE but, before all that, he was an aspiring young wrestler dating a young woman named Angie. They married in 1996, the same year that Mysterio moved on from ECW and joined WCW and have been together ever since. Their first son, Dominic, was born in 1997 and was later involved in a major WWE storyline involving the late Eddie Guerrero in which Eddie claimed to be the real father of Dominic. They also have a daughter, Aalyah, who was born in 2001.

His two kids and his wife Angie were later brought in the ring during an angle involving CM Punk. Today, Dominic is training to follow in his father's footsteps, while his daughter is training in martial arts.

10 AJ Styles

The name AJ Styles doesn't exactly scream family-oriented loving father, but Allen Neal Jones does. In fact, if you didn't know any better, you might expect Allen Neal Jones to be the least popular person at an insurance office. Instead, the 40 year old Superstar is one of the best in-ring talents in the world and, outside of the ring, is a loving father of three and husband to Wendy Jones, who he married in 2000, when he was just 22 years old and working on the independent circuit.

They met each other at Johnson High School in Gainesville, Georgia and actually began dating on Valentine's Day in 1996, as Styles once revealed on his Twitter account. She attended college while he carved his path in wrestling and even attributed joining TNA instead of WWE to the fact the former offered him more money: "I was the sole provider. My wife was in college. It’s God first and family second. And I wasn’t going to have my wife move back in with her family."

9 Bobby Roode

Wrestling fans who only follow WWE might have only caught on to Bobby Roode when "The Glorious One" joined NXT, but before that the Canadian was an established star in TNA for more than a decade. In fact, the 40 year old has been wrestling full-time since 1998, having trained with Val Venis in his hometown of Peterborough, Ontario.

As part of the WWE's Mixed Match Challenge, there was some hints of a potential romance angle between Roode and Charlotte Flair (both wore robes, so obviously they could be an item), but that stalled when Roode joined Raw. It likely wouldn't have worked in today's world as a lot of fans are probably Roode has been married to his wife, Tracy, since 1995. That's right, he was only 18 years old when he got married, but he apparently made the right choice as they are still together and have three children.

8 Natalya

The story of Natalya and Tyson Kidd has been well-documented on Total Divas and through social media platforms and even on other WWE programming - it was first acknowledged on-screen in 2014, when Natalya began managing Kidd and his tag team partner Cesaro. Both wrestlers grew up together in Calgary, Alberta, where they trained together with the shared goal of making it to the WWE one day. They have actually known each other for more than 27 years and, while Kidd had a fondness for Nattie at first sight, it took a little longer for the Queen of Hearts to fall for Kidd.

"For me, it wasn't love at first sight. It wasn't until I started learning how to wrestle that there was this connection with T.J. that changed everything," she told Yahoo! Lifestyle. "He always would catch me, he'd always put himself on the line to make sure that I was safe, and when you're in the ring and you're learning how to wrestle, it's all about trust with your partner."

7 Shane McMahon

Aside from Vince, Stephanie and Triple H, Shane McMahon is one of the most powerful voices in the WWE and, let's face it, he could have taken a more active role earlier in the company (at least on screen) if he had wanted to, but the minority owner enjoyed a seven-year absence from WWE until 2016, when he returned to interrupt Stephanie, who was receiving the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award.

Presumably, his absence from on-screen duties freed up time to spend with his family. His third son, Roger, was born in 2010 and, at that time, he had two young sons, Kenny and Declan. Shane has been married to Marissa Mazzola since 1996, which was before most casual WWE fans even knew of his existence. It wasn't until 1998 when he regularly appeared on-screen as a member of The Corporation.

6 Christian

The E&C Pod of Awesomeness is an excellent podcast for fans of WWE during the Attitude Era. Not surprisingly, Edge and Christian regularly rip on each other, but they also discuss each other's personal lives, including Edge's marriage to Beth Phoenix and their daughter as well as Christian's wife and daughter Isla.

Early in his WWE career, Christian met German model Denise Hartmann and the pair have been inseparable ever since. They married in 2001, three years after Christian debuted in the WWE as a member of Gangrel's Brood. If you've seen any of Denise's modeling photos, you're well aware just how lucky Christian is - Edge himself even acknowledges it regularly on the podcast, showing confusion at how his lifelong best friend attracted such a beautiful woman. We guess there's a reason he was known as Captain Charisma.

5 Kane

Glenn Jacobs, better known as Kane, has been married to his wife, Crystal Jacobs (Goins), before he first portrayed the long-lasting character. In fact, he was even married to her before he worked as Dr. Isaac Yankem, DDS, which is a good thing, because if she had first saw that character before marrying him there's zero chance they would still be together today.

The couple have been married since 1995 and, presumably, met much earlier than that. Kane was first hired on a full-time basis by the WWE that same year, so it's likely his employment there helped secure a wedding deposit, but who could have known he would have went on to have such a long career. As he transitions into politics, it certainly helps that he has been married for more than 20 years and has two daughters.

4 Stephanie McMahon

Like with The Miz and Maryse earlier, we certainly can't include Triple H here as he has been wrestling since 1992 and presumably had other relationships earlier in his career, but his wife, Stephanie McMahon, has been linked to him both on- and off-screen since we were introduced to her in 1999, when she began appearing on-screen as the innocent daughter of Vince McMahon - oh how things have changed.

The following year, she began dating The Game, mirroring an on-screen angle that played out in which she was kayfabe intoxicated by Hunter, who had the couple married at a Vegas drive-thru. In real life, the married on October 25, 2003 after getting engaged on Valentine's Day of that year. They now have three daughters and effectively run the company.

3 Heath Slater

"I have kids" isn't just a charming line used by Heath Slater, it's a reality. The former Nexus member, longtime WWE star, and current enhancement talent has two beautiful daughters, Roslin and Remmy, with his longtime wife Stephanie. They didn't marry until 2011, when Slater was already an established Superstar an alumnus of Florida Championship Wrestling, but they had been together since high school.

Both he and Stephanie attended Wyoming East High School and maintained a relationship while Heath attended Potomac State University and later a local community college. Stephanie supported him in his pursuit of becoming a professional wrestler, but has admitted it hasn't been easy: "It's hard to share your best friend and the one you love most with the world. It's hard to miss the person you want to be with more than anyone for days and sometimes weeks at a time."

2 Trish Stratus

via bodyheightweight.com

Trish Stratus was every teenage boy's dream girl during the Attitude and continues to be to this day. The acclaimed yoga instructor and seven-time WWE Women's Champion is still in incredible shape and might even be in better shape than she was during the height of her career - and she showed as much when she returned for the women's Royal Rumble. Yet, while the entire wrestling industry and its fans drooled over her for the duration of her career, she was happily dating her high school sweetheart, Ron Frisco, who she eventually married in 2006.

Perhaps to keep male fans intrigued or maybe to protect her husband, but Trish has mostly kept her marriage separate from her public life. She occasionally posts photos of the couple on her Instagram account, but beyond that we don't really know much about him, other than the fact he's one of the luckiest men in the world.

1 Roman Reigns

via instagram.com

You can hate Roman Reigns all you want for being shoved down our throats as an unbelievable babyface, but you should really be hating him because his life is far better than yours. You also have to respect the hustle; while it's become a little tiresome at this point, he isn't wrong in stating he shows up every night and provides for the fans. The hustle extends beyond the ring as Reigns has been married to the incredibly beautiful Galina Becker since 2014.

They actually met each other well before Reigns even considered wrestling as Becker was a standout track and field athlete at Georgia Tech, while Reigns was a defensive lineman on the school's football team. Through all the hatred and boos, Becker has stood by Regins' side and they now have a daughter, Joelle and twin boys.
