5 Best Tag Team Partners Of Vince McMahon's Career (& 5 Worst)

In his younger days, Vince McMahon always wanted to step inside the squared circle. Unfortunately for McMahon, his father would never approve of his wrestling. When McMahon bought WWE from his father, he fought off the urge to jump in the ring for quite a while. Eventually, though, Vince would finally step in the ring and get physical.

Throughout his limited in-ring career, McMahon had the luxury of only working with handpicked performers as opponents and partners. From a partner standpoint, McMahon never truly had a terrible partner, just some that he didn't fit in well. He also had some partners that were perfect for him.

10 Best: Umaga

In 2007, Vince McMahon entered a feud with Donald Trump and Bobby Lashley. This ultimately led to McMahon getting his head shaved at WrestleMania 23. After the show, McMahon would continue to target Lashley to get the ECW Championship off of him.

At Backlash 2007, Vince McMahon would team up with his son, Shane, and Umaga to face Lashley in a Handicap Match for his ECW Championship. Umaga would do most of the heavy lifting but it would be Vince who picked up the win and became ECW Champion.

9 Worst: Trish Stratus

In hindsight, Vince McMahon booking Trish Stratus to be his mistress and sugar baby of sorts is pretty cringe-worthy. That's exactly what happened in 2001 though. At the time, McMahon was riding high as he was demolishing his only competition, WCW. This likely prompted McMahon to push the creative envelope even more.

Regardless, thanks to that cringey angle, McMahon and Stratus ended up teaming up for one match together. It took place on the 2/26/2001 Monday Night Raw. McMahon and Stratus would defeat Stephanie McMahon and William Regal that night to earn the win. Luckily for Trish, it would be the first and last time she teamed with Vince.

8 Best: The Rock

In the late 90s, The Rock became an undeniable megastar. When The Rock first reached the top of the mountain in WWE it was as Vince McMahon's "Corporate Champion." Eventually, Rock would blaze his own trail and break away from McMahon. Despite that, The Rock and McMahon would team together down the line.

McMahon and The Rock were on the same team on two separate occasions. First on the 5/10/1999 Raw, as part of a Six-Man Tag Team with Steve Austin. Then, on the 5/27/2000 Raw against Shane McMahon and The Big Show. The Rock and Vince would emerge victoriously on both occasions.

7 Worst: Mark Henry

Today, Mark Henry is a bonafide legend in the wrestling business, in the late 90s and early 2000s though, the jury was still out on just how successful Henry would be. It took Henry quite a bit to finally find his footing in WWE. He eventually would, and become one of the company's best, most intimidating heel performers.

Vince McMahon put Henry's strength to use when he was part of McMahon's Gauntlet Tag Team against John Cena on the 3/8/2010 Monday Night Raw. Henry wasn't a bad partner by any stretch. However, he got lost in the shuffle with the four other heels that made up McMahon's team.

6 Best: Triple H

Vince McMahon and Triple H's relationship has been complicated, to say the least. Hunter went from being punished for The Curtain Call to being a top heel in WWE to being Vince's real-life son-in-law. Now, Triple H is at the creative helm of the very company McMahon built.

On-screen, McMahon and Triple H had incredible chemistry as both opponents and partners. They first teamed together in 2000 as part of the McMahon‐Helmsley Faction. They would only team together a couple more times but when they joined forces in 2009 as babyfaces to combat The Legacy, most fans really enjoyed it.

5 Worst: Carlito

Carlito is a classic case of a pro wrestler who had every tool necessary to be a main event star except his mindset. As the son of Carlos Colon, Carlito seemed destined for superstardom in the wrestling business. Unfortunately, his run in WWE proved to be more disappointing than fruitful.

In 2007, Vince McMahon tried to sprinkle some of his magic on Carlito. The two would even team up on the 9/24/2007 Monday Night Raw. Carlito and McMahon would face Triple H in a Handicap Steel Cage Match. Despite coming out on top that night, McMahon and Carlito would never team again and Carlito's WWE career would stall.

4 Best: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin

In 1998, the heated rivalry between Vince McMahon and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin helped propel WWE back into the number one spot in the wrestling business. McMahon and Austin had unmatched chemistry as adversaries and somehow even pulled off being partners.

Austin and McMahon would team together on three occasions. The first two were reluctantly and to be honest, those pairings worked the best. When they teamed together in 2001 after Austin's heel turn, it didn't work as well. Still, anytime McMahon and Austin teamed up, it was must watch.

3 Worst: Jack Swagger

In early 2009, Jack Swagger was a fast-rising star in WWE. The former collegiate wrestler had the body and look of a main event star. As a result, Vince McMahon gave Swagger a very strong push right out of the gates. Swagger would win the ECW Championship just months into his WWE career.

In 2010, Swagger would win the World Heavyweight Championship. Before that though, he would team with Vince McMahon on the 3/8/2010 episode of Raw as part of a Gauntlet Match against John Cena. Swagger would turn out not to be a huge star for WWE and unsurprisingly he and McMahon never teamed again.

2 Best: Shane McMahon

Vince McMahon always wanted his children to be involved in his promotion if they wished to be. In the mid-90s, the WWE audience was introduced to Vince's son, Shane McMahon. Before long, Shane was just as big of an antagonist as his father. The McMahons would spend most of The Attitude Era fighting and making up.

In all honesty, Vince and Shane seemed to work better as rivals. Although, their partnerships weren't all bad. From 1999 to 2007, Vince and Shane would team up on 13 occasions, winning 8 of them. That winning percentage is decent considering neither McMahon was a full-time wrestler.

1 Worst: Vladimir Kozlov

For as much of a genius as Vince McMahon was, he never evolved his antiquated way of booking foreign performers. McMahon always reverted to the evil foreign heel gimmick. Vladimir Kozlov's WWE run was no different. In 2008, Kozlov debuted with a strong push.

That push would fizzle out by 2009. By 2010, Kozlov was just another face in the mid-card heel crowd. In 2010 however, Kozlov did get the opportunity to be part of Vince McMahon's team during a Gauntlet Match against John Cena. Understandably, the boss would never deem it necessary to team with Kozlov again.
