5 Female Wrestlers Who Used Their Real Name (& 5 Who Didn't)
Throughout the history of professional wrestling, there have been several female wrestlers who have used their real names to make a name for themselves, but there are some who have used a fake name to get over and to keep their real-life names, private. However, in WWE, with female wrestlers using stage names, WWE have sometimes trademarked their names, as they can own their name should that wrestler leave WWE and want to use the name that they had in WWE outside of the company.

The likes of The Rock, The Undertaker, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels were among some of the biggest names in WWE history and they didn't use their real names to make a name for themselves. Nevertheless, the following competitors who competed under their real or kayfabe names have had a lot of success in WWE.
10 Used Their Real Name: Melina Perez
Melina was one of the biggest female names in the Ruthless Aggression Era, and she won the WWE Women's Championship three times and the Divas Championship twice. Unfortunately, injuries plagued Melina throughout her WWE career.
Although Melina Perez is Melina's full real name, she still used her birth name as her real name. Melina's most recent appearance with WWE was as a surprise entrant in the 2022 women's Royal Rumble match and she got things underway with Sasha Banks.
9 Didn't Use Their Real Name: Ivory (Lisa Moretti)
WWE Hall of Famer Ivory is one of the most underrated women's wrestlers in WWE history. She made the most of the opportunities presented to her, and she clinched the WWE Women's Championship three times, with her final run as Women's Champion by far her best reign as Women's Champion as she was embroiled in a feud with Chyna.
Ivory didn't use her real name in WWE, and her birth name was Lisa Moretti. It remains to be seen if Ivory would have had success using her real name, but Ivory suited her perfectly.
8 Used Their Real Name: Michelle McCool
Michelle McCool was originally introduced to WWE fans as a contestant on the 2004 Diva Search competition, and whilst she didn't win the show, she arguably had the most successful WWE career compared to her counterparts. McCool was blessed with a cool real-life name which she competed under.
McCool is married to The Undertaker, and Michelle Calaway is now her real name. Nonetheless, the four-time WWE Women's Champion still has a lot to offer inside the ring when she makes sporadic appearances as she is competitive, and she participated in the 2023 women's Royal Rumble match, where she had a superb outing.
7 Didn't Use Their Real Name: Bayley (Pamela Rose Martinez)
Bayley is one of the biggest female wrestlers on WWE's roster as she was a member of the Four Horsewomen. Bayley is also the first woman to become a Grand Slam Champion, and she is the longest-reigning SmackDown Women's Champion in history.

Although Bayley has had a lot of memorable moments in her WWE career, she didn't use her real name, Pamela Rose Martinez. Bayley's real surname may surprise some people, who may not know that she has a Mexican background.
6 Used Their Real Name: Mickie James
Before Mickie James became a mainstay on WWE's main roster in late 2005, she used the ring name Alexis Laree. That all changed when she began to use her real name, Mickie James. Moreover, when ring announcer Lilian Garcia would announce her name, it felt right.
Mickie deserves a lot of recognition for the successful wrestling career that she has carved out for herself. She won the WWE Women's Championship five times and the Divas Championship once. Mickie continued to use her real name as her ring name in TNA, and being a household name in the wrestling business, Mickie had some more success.
5 Didn't Use Their Real Name: Becky Lynch (Rebecca Quin)
Becky Lynch is one of the marquee names in the professional wrestling business, and she generates a lot of interest whenever she wrestles. The longest-reigning Raw Women's Champion is proud of her Irish roots, but she doesn't use her real name on-screen.
Rebecca Quinn is Lynch's real-life's name, but the Man using Becky Lynch has proven to be a wise decision. Lynch has had several nicknames in her WWE career, whether she's been a babyface or heel, but "The Man" is Lynch's current nickname which she first used in 2018.
4 Used Their Real Name: Shayna Baszler
"The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler is not one woman to mess around with, as she is one of the strongest women on the roster. Baszler partially translated her success from NXT to the main roster, where she is still to clinch a singles championship on Raw or SmackDown.

Baszler uses her real name which sounds perfect for professional wrestling. The two-time NXT Women's Champion doesn't need to use a stage name in WWE, and it's unlikely that it will change in the future.
3 Didn't Use Their Real Name: Charlotte Flair (Ashley Fliehr)
It didn't matter if Charlotte Flair was going to use a real name or a stage name, but being the daughter of two-time WWE Hall of Famer and 16-time World Champion Ric Flair, Charlotte had a lot of expectations to live up to, and she has done just that. The Queen's birth name is Ashley Fliehr, but she is known as Charlotte Flair around the world.
Charlotte happens to be the Queen's birth name, and Charlotte continues to make history as a 14-time WWE Women's Champion. Before it's all said and done, Charlotte will break several records, and she will continue to add to her tally of Women's Championship reigns, and having the Flair name comes with pressure, but Charlotte thrives on it and she has excelled on multiple occasions.
2 Used Their Real Name: Ronda Rousey
There's no way on Earth that "The Baddest Woman on the Planet" Ronda Rousey was going to be changing her ring name when she made her WWE debut at the 2018 Royal Rumble. Rousey has received mixed receptions from the WWE Universe but she thrives as a heel.
Rousey was a huge star in UFC, and she's had success in WWE as a two-time SmackDown Women's Champion and a former Raw Women's Champion. Despite the criticism that she's received, Rousey is still a huge name in the professional wrestling industry with the star power that she possesses.
1 Didn't Use Their Real Name: Rhea Ripley (Demi Bennett)
There's arguably no woman on the women's roster in WWE that is in a rich vein of form like Rhea Ripley. The Nightmare won the 2023 women's Royal Rumble match from the unenviable number one position and she did it in a record time of one hour one minute and eight seconds. Ripley was born in Adelaide in Australia, and whilst Ripley is her stage name, her real-life name is Demi Bennett.
Ripley's wrestling name suits her, and the Nightmare is unquestionably in the best stage in her WWE career. She's opted to challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 39, and you wouldn't put it past her to get the job done.
