5 WCW Wrestlers With Eye-Catching Physiques (& 5 That Look Completely Average)

WCW was one of the greatest wrestling promotions of all time, the only one that really competed with WWE, although it eventually lost the war. WCW had a very talented roster, full of superstars and some wrestling legends.

Most of the wrestlers on the WCW roster had tremendous physiques, which is not surprising, because at that time most wrestlers were muscular. However, there were also some wrestlers who looked completely average and wouldn't stand out in a crowd. Let's take a look at five WCW wrestlers with eye-catching physiques, and five that looked completely average.

10 Eye-Catching Physique: Rick Rude

Rick Rude International Champion

Rick Rude had one of the most impressive physiques of his generation. We're talking about a practically perfect physique, big, well-defined biceps, an impressive chest, muscular back, and amazing abs. Rude had a true eye-catching physique, and, in fact, is one of the best physiques in the history of sports entertainment. In addition to his physique, he was very talented, a good in-ring performer and a phenomenal heel.

9 Looked Completely Average: Kidman

Billy Kidman looked like any guy in his 20s who goes to the gym on a regular basis, but nothing outstanding. He was 5'10" and weighed about 190 pounds, so he was below average for the time. Despite his physique, Kidman had a good WCW career, being a three-time Cruiserweight Champion and three-time Tag Team Champion.

8 Eye-Catching Physique: Lex Luger

Lex Luger As WCW Champion

Lex Luger could not be missing on this list, as he had an amazing physique and was always among the most muscular wrestlers of the time. He had the looks of a world champion and was very charismatic, so it's no wonder he had success in WCW.

Luger was a two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, two-time United States Heavyweight Champion and two-time World Television Champion as well, being one of the icons of the company. Curiously, he never had the same success in WWE.

7 Looked Completely Average: Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio WCW

Rey Mysterio doesn't even look like an average man, as he is much shorter. Mysterio is 5' 4" and weighs just 160 pounds, which makes it hard to believe that he is a wrestling legend.

In his first few months in WCW fans didn't take him seriously, but he proved them wrong with his amazing performances and natural charisma. In an era full of muscles and big men, Rey Mysterio proved that size doesn't matter in wrestling and had some great moments in WCW.

6 Eye-Catching Physique: Goldberg

Goldberg United States Champion

Goldberg was one of the greatest wrestlers in WCW history. He wasn't the best in-ring performer, but he didn't need to be, because the fans loved his explosiveness and intensity, the fans loved to see him squash his opponents. Goldberg obviously had an eye-catching physique, otherwise, his dominance would not have been believable, and his gimmick would make no sense. He was very muscular and looked like his body was as solid as a rock.

5 Looked Completely Average: Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho in WCW

Chris Jericho has never been in outstanding physical shape, much less in the early years of his career. In WCW, Jericho looked like an average young man, lean, in good physical shape, but no big muscles, no outstanding abs. Therefore, Jericho was never a powerful wrestler, but he never needed to be, because he had impeccable technique, outstanding storytelling ability, and always knew how to be an entertaining wrestler. Despite being very young, Jericho was successful in WCW and won the World Cruiserweight Title five times.

4 Eye-Catching Physique: Sid Vicious

Sid WCW

Sid Vicious looked like a true monster and looked like he could destroy his opponents with his bare hands. We're talking about a guy who was 6' 9" and weighed over 300 pounds. His physique was really eye-catching. That's why, when he was a heel, he was one of the most terrifying wrestlers of the era, and it's because of his looks that he had such a great career despite having lackluster in-ring skills, and even worse mic skills.

3 Looked Completely Average: Ric Flair

Ric Flair is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, a true wrestling legend and an eternal idol. However, admittedly, his looks were not great. Certainly, Flair looked good, and he had style, but his physique was average, or perhaps below average for the world champions of the 1980s and 1990s. But the Nature Boy didn't need big muscles to become a megastar and build an unforgettable legacy, as his in-ring skills and charisma were more than enough.

2 Eye-Catching Physique: Scott Steiner

Scott Steiner WCW World Champion

At the time of his singles run, Scott Steiner had an absolutely stunning physique, one of the best physiques in WCW history. He had huge muscles and looked like he could win a bodybuilding competition. "Big Poppa Pump" looked so good that it was impossible for him not to get over. Steiner had memorable moments in WCW and his eye-catching physique is still iconic today.

1 Looked Completely Average: Cactus Jack

Mick Foley inWCW

Truth be told, Cactus Jack (also known as Mick Foley or Mankind) always looked like a 50-year-old man who hated working out, even when he was young. Jack had a below average physique, as he seemed to be out of shape for wrestling, but looks can be deceiving, and he was always an amazing in-ring performer who was willing to put his life on the line just to entertain the fans.
