5 WWE Wrestlers The Undertaker Should Face If He Ever Came Back (& 5 He Shouldn't)
Following his retirement and Hall of Fame induction, The Undertaker took wrestling fans on a nostalgic trip down memory lane when he returned to WWE at the Raw 30 celebration in his iconic American Badass gimmick.

The Deadman's return to Raw has naturally sparked the curiosity of wrestling fans across the globe if he would return for one last match. He did make a comeback after he seemingly announced his retirement after losing his match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33, and the fans are wondering if we'll see a repeat of that in the coming days. There's a locker room full of potential opponents for The Undertaker if he does choose to have one last match, and with that said, let's take a look at five wrestlers he should face and five he shouldn't.
10 Shouldn't - Goldberg
Hardcore wrestling fans still get nightmares of that disastrous match between The Undertaker and WCW legend Goldberg at the 2019 Super ShowDown event. Since the two wrestlers couldn't compete against each other in their prime years, WWE chose to give the fans a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
The match became a catastrophic botch fest after Goldberg got himself concussed after running headfirst onto the ring post. He nearly dropped The Undertaker awkwardly on his neck while executing the Jackhammer. After that disastrous outing, the fans have zero interest in seeing another match between the two legends, and The Undertaker should stay far away from Goldberg if he does make a comeback.
9 Should - Seth Rollins
While The Undertaker has competed against Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in singles competitions in the past, Seth Rollins is the only remaining Shield member to get that opportunity.
Rollins is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars on the current WWE roster, and the former 4-time world champion would be an excellent choice to face The Undertaker. Rollins might be slowly making a face turn at present, but he can always go back to being a snarky villain, and the fans would love to see a match between The Visionary and The Deadman.
8 Shouldn't - Brock Lesnar
The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar have taken each other to their limits on multiple occasions over the years, and the latter holds the distinction of ending The Deadman's iconic undefeated streak at WrestleMania 30.

The Beast Incarnate had the last laugh in their feud as he defeated The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match at the titular event in 2015. While age has taken a toll on the Deadman's body and limited his in-ring abilities to a great extent, Lesnar can still go all guns blazing. It would be awkward to see Lesnar trying to have a safe match against The Undertaker, and it's better if the latter finds another opponent for a potential return match.
7 Should - Kevin Owens
As mentioned earlier, The Undertaker's in-ring abilities gradually started going downhill as he advanced in age during his final days as a wrestler, and if he chooses to put on his boots once again, he would need an opponent who could help him have a decent match.
Kevin Owens will be the perfect wrestler to fill in for that role as he already proved his worth by having a good match with another retired legend, Stone Cold Steve Austin, at WrestleMania 38. Owens can replicate the same success he had in his match against Austin and have a great showdown with The Undertaker.
6 Shouldn't - Karrion Kross
WWE introduced multiple dark characters over the years, and only a few lived up to the standard set by the Master of Darkness, The Undertaker. Current SmackDown superstar and former NXT Champion Karrion Kross have a similar mystical character, and it's natural for WWE to consider him as a candidate for a potential Undertaker comeback match.
However, apart from having a great entrance sequence, Karrion Kross hasn't done much to establish himself as a legitimate superstar on the main roster. Hence, it would be smart for WWE to start working on his character development rather than considering him as a candidate for The Undertaker's return match.
5 Should - Edge
A Legend Vs. Legend match can be a great way to book a potential return match for The Undertaker, and with the obvious options like Triple H and Randy Orton out of the equation, Edge can be the right person to take on The Deadman.
The Rated R Superstar's history with The Undertaker dates back to the year 2000, and since then, the two have competed against each other in tag team and singles competitions. Edge and The Undertaker have also worked together in the world title pictures, and The Rated R Superstar is also one of The Deadman's WrestleMania victims. If WWE and The Undertaker do reach an agreement over a return match for the latter, Edge can be the perfect opponent for a legendary showdown.
4 Shouldn't - John Cena
One of WWE's biggest missed opportunities over the years is not booking a major rivalry between The Undertaker and John Cena during their prime years as in-ring competitors. The WWE Universe always wanted to see a dream match between the two legends at WrestleMania, and it finally took place at WrestleMania 34. While the build-up towards that match had great storytelling, the actual bout turned into a squash match as The Undertaker made quick work of John Cena.

Cena's last match in WWE on the December 30, 2022, episode of SmackDown saw him take extreme caution and not take any major bumps. With both Cena and Undertaker not being able to take heavy impacts during the contest, there's no reason to make the two work together.
3 Should - Demon Finn Balor
Similar to Kevin Owens, Finn Balor is also one of the safest in-ring workers on the current WWE roster, and the added advantage of booking a potential match between him and The Undertaker is the fans can witness a showdown between The Deadman and The Demon King.
Finn Balor's alter-ego has a dedicated fanbase, and the WWE Universe would love to see a match between the two mystical characters. Balor might be in the middle of a heel run as the leader of The Judgment Day faction, which also gives him the liberty to introduce a more ruthless version of The Demon King, and he will be a perfect candidate to be The Undertaker's next opponent.
2 Shouldn't - Roman Reigns
There's no denying the fact that Roman Reigns is the biggest attraction on the current WWE product, as The Tribal Chief has been dominating the company's program for a long time as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Reigns is the second wrestler after Brock Lesnar to defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania, and it's natural for WWE to consider booking a rematch between the two superstars.
However, Reigns' current run has duly run its course, and WWE has to start thinking of making a smooth transition of power by having a suitable candidate dethrone Reigns for the titles. Reigns already have wins against legends like John Cena, Edge, and Brock Lesnar during his historic run, and the fans would not want to see him add The Undertaker to that list, and neither would it be believable to see The Deadman triumphing over this dominant version of Roman Reigns.
1 Should - Bray Wyatt
Wrestling fans witnessed what looked like a passing of the torch moment between The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt on the Raw 30 celebration episode. It seemed like The Deadman officially acknowledged Wyatt as his successor in WWE in the segment, but it did have a twist as he murmured something in Wyatt's ears before leaving the ring.
WWE could use that as an opportunity to book a match between the two superstars if The Undertaker chooses to return for one last ride. The addition of the new Uncle Howdy character could also play a significant role in the storyline, and WWE can treat the fans with a better storyline than The Undertaker and Wyatt's WrestleMania 31 rivalry.
