Bowens has been one of the top stars on the AEW roster as of late, working alongside Max Caster as The Acclaimed. From the raps on the way to the ring about their opponents to the in-ring work they have put in, the duo have become a heavily featured part of the show.
Unfortunately for Bowens, he has been dealing with some injury issues as of late. He had been on the shelf since March due to a knee problem, which led to Caster having to work along for a few weeks, but Bowens had returned recently.
It was clear that Tony Khan liked the work that The Acclaimed were putting in, as the duo have been given plenty of opportunities both as a team, and in singles action. That is especially true for Bowens, who had the chance to work against Bryan Danielson. Originally, the two members of The Acclaimed were singles stars, but Tony opted to put them together, and they haven't looked back since.
Anthony Bowens Has Undergone Knee Surgery
Bowens revealed he suffered the injury on AEW Dark: Elevation in a post-match attack, which is where he had returned to working in a limited physical capacity.
He wrote, "Without getting into too much detail..bc of the attack after Elevation on Monday, I had to undergo a procedure this week to fix my knee. Story of my life..1 step forward, 2 steps back. #AEWRampage"
It is currently unknown how long it will take for Bowens to recover from this situation, but it appears this his partner, Max Caster, will be working with the Gunn Club in the meantime.
