Arman Tsarukyan explained why he confronted Bobby Green before his sensational win at UFC Austin. While Tsarukyan's remarkable knockout victory against Beneil Dariush is a significant step toward title contention, much of the pre-Saturday show buzz revolved around Tsarukyan's altercation with Bobby Green at the fighter hotel earlier in the week.
Green took to social media, alleging that Tsarukyan and his associates had confronted him at the hotel. Subsequent footage of the incident surfaced, depicting Tsarukyan grabbing at Green's throat, and Green engaging in a brawl with members of his entourage. On fight night, the fates of the two fighters diverged significantly, with Tsarukyan securing a victory over Dariush, while Green endured a brutal knockout loss at the hands of Jalin Turner.

The UFC Star Explained Why He Confronted Bobby Green
In the UFC post-fight press conference, Tsarukyan addressed the Green drama, acknowledging that he enjoyed witnessing Green's knockout.
"He was talking s*** about me," Tsarukyan explained. "I just came and asked him, 'Bro, don't talk s*** about me.' Because where I'm from, you can't just talk; you've got to answer for your words. So that's why I just wanted to tell him not to talk s*** about me, because if you're going to talk s***, we've got to meet and talk. So he pushed me, I pushed him, and that's it. Done. Hopefully, I'm not going to see him again in my life,” he said continuing: "I was super, super happy when his head was bouncing on the canvas."
Originally, Green was set to take on Dan Hooker, but the New Zealand fighter had to withdraw due to a broken arm. Turner stepped in to replace Hooker and scored a sensational victory on short notice.
Tsarukyan's hotel confrontation may have been motivated by Green’s previous comments about him. Green garnered attention earlier in the month when he declined a fight with Tsarukyan, whom he referred to as "a terrible f***ing fighter" and deemed "boring."

Tsarukyan Lost A Decision To Makhachev Early In His Career
Tsarukyan has expressed his desire to face either lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in a rematch or ‘BMF’ champion Justin Gaethje. While it's unlikely for Tsarukyan to secure a title shot in the near future, his callout of Makhachev is rooted in their history.
Tsarukyan, who made his UFC debut against Makhachev in April 2019 at the age of 22, suffered a decision loss. However, he remains confident that a rematch would yield a different outcome, envisioning a first-round knockout.
