Backstage Details On WWE Creating Bayley's New Stable Revealed [Report]
One of the top moments from WWE SummerSlam 2022 saw Bayley make her long-awaited return after more than a year away, with two new friends at her side.
Bayley appeared alongside Io Shirai (now going by the ring name "Iyo Sky") and Dakota Kai, who made a surprise return just three months after the company released her. The new heel trio met Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair in the ring, but Becky Lynch (whom Belair defeated moments earlier), stood by The EST of WWE which prevented any potential physical confrontation.
As previously noted, former WWE chairman Vince McMahon reportedly rejected the pitch of a Bayley-led faction. But McMahon announced his retirement after four decades at the helm two weeks ago, and that opened the door for new WWE creative team leader Triple H to change things up in time for SummerSlam.
According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, the new Bayley-led stable was put together at the last minute. Johnson wrote that though she was "expected to be at" the event, there were inititally "no concrete plans for" Bayley to actually appear on the SummerSlam show. Johnson also heard that Kai's agreement to come back to WWE "was put together quickly but at the last minute." WWE kept her return a a surprise backstage by having Kai hide inside a bus that was backstage.

Bayley spent more than a year away from television as she recovered from a torn ACL that she suffered in July of last year. At this time, it looks like her stable will be involved in the Raw Women's Championship scene going forward.
The Stable Made A Statement On Raw This Week
Bayley, Sky and Kai attacked Lynch backstage on this week's episode of WWE Raw. The former Raw Women's Champion will be out several months as she recovers from a separated shoulder. The trio also went after Asuka and Alexa Bliss during their singles match on the show, but Belair rushed out to help them which halted the attack.
