Backstage News On Current State Of The WWE Locker Room

It's no secret at this point that the WWE locker room is full of drama and uncertainty right now, with a handful of big-named and disgruntled superstars trying to get out of their contracts.

With long-time veterans in The Undertaker and John Cena rarely backstage anymore, WWE doesn't have those natural leaders to keep everything afloat. And now, things appear to be reaching a breaking point backtage.

According to a report from Felix Upton of Ringside News, it's currently "crazier backstage in WWE than anyone would ever believe right now," with a large number of superstars wanting to exit the company.

Upton added that some of the craziness backstage is also due to the frequent number of script changes, with wrestlers not having much time to prepare before they go out to perform.

This news shouldn't surprise too many people, because actions are speaking louder than words. Luke Harper requested his release, but WWE wouldn't grant it and added more time onto his contract.

Sasha Banks has been on hiatus since WrestleMania 35, having grown unhappy ever since her and Bayley dropped the Women's Tag Team Championships to The IIconics. The duo reportedly believed they were going to embark on a lengthy run with the titles together, but Bayley and Banks learned at the last minute that they would be dropping them.

But it isn't just the superstars' unhappiness that is leading to all the drama backstage. WWE parted ways with Dave Schilling, R.D. Evans, veterans Arn Anderson and Road Dogg - all prominent figures backstage. Anderson was fired for allowing Alicia Fox to wrestle in a show in which she was reportedly intoxicated, but the other three left on their own terms.

What This Means

It's been a brutal start to the WWE in 2019, as the company recently revealed losses in the first quarter of 2019. Now, they have to work with a tense situation backstage, in which writers are leaving and superstars are asking to be released. The McMahon family has a huge problem on their hands, to say the least.
