Bray Wyatt's 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Rivals Ever

Since entering the WWE, Bray Wyatt has not always found the success he had hoped for. Wyatt first appeared in WWE as a part of the faction, The Nexus, and he performed under the ring name Husky Harris. This bland gimmick was not enough to captivate the WWE Universe, leading Wyatt to be sent back down to FCW and NXT.

After returning to the main roster, he returned as a ruthless cult leader named Bray Wyatt. Since his return, Wyatt has taken the WWE by storm through his use of his alter ego, The Fiend. Wyatt has also been apart of some of the best WWE matches and had many iconic feuds along the way. However, not every feud helped advance Bray Wyatt to superstardom. And not all of Wyatt's rivals clicked with him in the ring.

10 Best: John Cena

Bray Wyatt's feud with John Cena culminated with a Firefly Fun House match during night two of WrestleMania 36. The feud however, played on the previous feuds and rivalries with Bray stating that his lose to John at WrestleMania XXX played an integral role in The Fiend's creation. The match itself was a fantastic cinematic match that alluded to the two's past as well as the history of professional wrestling as a whole. Bray Wyatt would eventually come out as the winner, avenging his previous loses to Cena.

9 Worst: Finn Balor

"The Fiend" Bray Wyatt

Finn Balor was the fall guy for the official debut of The Fiend, the alter-ego of Bray Wyatt. Expectations were high between Balor and The Fiend at SummerSlam 2019, but they didn't quite live up to their potential.

The match itself was boring and Bray Wyatt made quick work of the smaller Finn Balor. Wyatt put away Balor in just over three minutes. Fans felt let down after the match since the potential of a great rivalry was there, but poor execution led to this rivalry quickly fading into obscurity. Unfortunately, following his Universal Title win, Finn had been on a steady decline and this feud was simply used to add another layer of complexity to The Fiend and nothing else.

8 Best: Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns versus Bray Wyatt had all of the storylines fans would want to see in a rivalry. The two first began feuding in early 2014 as The Shield and The Wyatt Family were locked in a heated rivalry. Bray coined the term, "anyone but Roman", in an effort to prevent Roman from becoming the marquis star of WWE.

In 2015, the two leaders would be pitted against each other in various matches, but the feud came to a head with a brutal Hell In A Cell match. That Hell In A Cell match would go down as one of the better matches for both Bray and Roman's careers. Roman would go onto win the match, however fans would like to see this feud all over again.

7 Worst: Dean Ambrose

In 2014, Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt both were given massive pushes into the main event picture. In theory this was good idea, but poor execution led to this feud fizzling out before it even began. The rivalry began due to Bray distracting Dean and eventually costing Dean his match against Seth Rollins. The two met in the eventual main event of the TLC pay-per view in 2014. Unfortunately for fans, the two superstars put on quite possibly the dullest TLC match in company history. The feud ended up pushing the two superstars back rather than propel them forward.

6 Best: Kane

In Bray Wyatt's return to the main roster, his first major push came against "The Big Red Machine" Kane. The newly formed Wyatt Family set their sights on Kane to be the first target of their rampage on the main roster.

Kane and Bray would be eventually booked for a Ring of Fire match at SummerSlam 2013, pitting the two "monsters" against each other at the Biggest Party of the Summer. With Bray coming out victorious, another element was added to his already growing persona.

5 Worst: Seth Rollins

In a head scratching rivalry between Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt, WWE fans were treated to the worst pay-per view main event in recent memory. The two men were scheduled to face off in a Hell In A Cell match that got fans excited for the upcoming bout.

However, fans were met with a horrid red light that was on for the duration of that match which made viewing practically impossible. To add to the horror, the match ended in controversy and the follow-up match wasn't much better. This feud put Bray Wyatt back in the minds of fans and the matches will be remembered in infamy as being notoriously bad, especially their encounter inside the cell.

4 Best: Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt's feud was easily one of the more entertaining rivalries in recent memory. On the last Raw of 2013, Daniel Bryan joined The Wyatt Family before eventually double crossing the faction two weeks later and challenging the leader, Bray Wyatt. The feud reached the tipping point at the 2014 Royal Rumble in which Bray went on to defeat Daniel Bryan. The match is arguably the best of Bray Wyatt's career so far and left fans wanting more.

Fans ultimately got their wish when Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt reignited their feud. The two would produce amazing matches, their first battle featuring "The Fiend" being at Survivor Series 2019 and a "strap match" at the 2020 Royal Rumble. The WWE should use this rivalry as a model of how to properly use Bray Wyatt in a storyline.

3 Worst: Goldberg

Since Goldberg's return to WWE, his booking has been filled with questionable decisions. Bray Wyatt's alter ego, The Fiend, had been undefeated since debuting in WWE of that year. The Fiend was red hot with fans who were drawn into the persona Bray had created and no fans anticipated the results of his match with Goldberg. Goldberg would be slated to face off against Bray Wyatt for his Universal Title and the winner would most likely face off against Roman Reigns at that year's WrestleMania. However, the results were confusing as Goldberg went on to defeat Bray in a questionable decision that left fans furious.

2 Best: Randy Orton

Randy Orton is a fantastic superstar to feud with and his Viper persona was the perfect mesh for Bray Wyatt's Fiend. Randy Orton actually was a member of The Wyatt Family in 2016, but the rivalry took a turn when Randy Orton left the faction and challenged Bray Wyatt for his WWE Championship. The two squared off at WrestleMania 33 which saw Orton defeat Wyatt and end his championship reign. The two would face off in a less than interesting House of Horrors match at Payback 2017, but there is no denying their on-screen chemistry.

1 Worst: Undertaker

The Undertaker is a living legend in WWE and is known for his sadistic wrestling style. Bray Wyatt was the twisted leader of The Wyatt Family and everything was set up for a great feud. The icon that is The Undertaker was coming off a devastating loss to Brock Lesnar at the previous WrestleMania and Bray Wyatt was looking to put down the Deadman as well. However, the match itself was boring with a notable silence from the audience. Undertaker would win the match, and Wyatt would suffer a second straight loss on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
