Britt Baker Debuts A New Women's Title At AEW Revolution

Britt Baker faced the biggest challenge of her 280-day reign as AEW Women's Champion at Revolution. A rematch against Thunder Rosa. It had actually been so long since the famous lights-out match between the two that there was nothing on the line that night as Baker was yet to win the Women's Title. Even though Rosa won that night, Baker was the one who got a title shot and became champ less than three months later.

Rosa had a chance to right that and pick up a second win against Baker on Sunday night, but she failed to do so. That was largely in part to the interference from Rebel and Jamie Hayter, Baker's lackeys. Although they didn't get involved enough to warrant a disqualification, there was a point where Baker was tapping and the referee was too distracted to see it happen and crown a new champion.

Baker would eventually turn the tide in her favor and win the match herself. It was at that point, once she was able to celebrate, that Baker was able to flaunt her all-new title. A much bigger, chunkier, and overall more substantial championship than the one that has been the richest prize in AEW's women's division up until this point. You can take a closer look at it below.

An All-New Title

The new title will have its detractors, of course. You can't please all the people all the time, especially when it comes to wrestling fans. It's hard to argue that the original design was a better one, though. This new title feels far more fitting of the job at hand, and also looks more like a World Championship than the now-retired belt. An important distinction now there's a TBS Title in the women's division too.

As for who the first person to challenge Baker for the new title will be, that remains unclear. Since Rosa made Baker tap and technically should be champion right now, it only seems fair that she gets another shot at the championship. That might not happen right away though, and a new challenger could well emerge in the coming weeks.
