Originally known as Rex Steiner, Bron Breakker recently spoke to Daily DDT and talked about his ring name and where it came from, as well as the reason behind it.

“We were just sitting around one day and I’m like, ‘Well when I used to block people in football, I used to try to break them in half,’” he said. “That was literally what I tried to do: snap them in half and break them. What if I’m the breaker? I break people, Breakker, and then it came to me. Bron is part of my first name and that’s what we went with.” (h/t wrestlinginc)

Hopefully this will to some way to quelling the rising disatifaction that many in the WWE Universe had towards Bron Breakker's new name not referencing his wrestling lineage, with many people frustrated that he couldn't just keep the name Rex Steiner, or at least the Steiner surname.
