Chris Gittens Stats & Scouting Report — College Baseball, MLB Draft, Prospects

Gittens, who plays both ways for Grayson (Texas) JC, draws interest on the mound and as a hitter, but most observers would rather have him at the plate since he has the type of thunder in his bat that's become harder and harder to find. Gittens has easy raw power, capable of just flicking balls out of the park from pole to pole. There's some natural hitting ability there too. He weighed in at nearly 300 pounds when he came out of high school and, although he has slimmed down, his size limits him to first base. As a pitcher, Gittens throws 89-93 mph with a 12-to-6 curveball as his main secondary pitch. He's an Arkansas-Little Rock signee.
