Impact Wrestling made headlines Saturday night at Bound For Glory with the shocking announcement that they are going back to the TNA name starting in January. It wasn't the only news coming out of the weekend for the promotion, as a certain someone was at the Impact tapings on Sunday.

That certain someone would be CM Punk. With the ongoing speculation that Punk will end up in WWE, perhaps at Survivor Series in Chicago, there was actual confirmation that Punk was at Impact. While he was not there at Bound For Glory like some wondered, as it too was held in Chicago, Haus of Wrestling had the exclusive report that Punk was at the TV tapings the next night, which were also in his hometown. It's not a huge surprise, as Punk's close friend, and former co-worker in AEW, Ace Steel, just started as a producer on a tryout basis for Impact. Punk wasn't there for Bound For Glory, as he was seen at the Chicago Blackhawks home opener, but he was spotted backstage at the TV tapings to support his friend, though it's said he didn't get to spend much time with him.

Haus of Wrestling added, "We are told that The Second City Savior showed up just before the tapings began, around 6:30 pm CST, and was taken to the locker room area... While backstage, we are told Punk was talking with anyone who wanted to get some time with him, including 'key Impact talent' that he spoke to throughout the taping. Since he had attended a taping earlier this year, we are told his presence did not faze any of the talent, as they were more used to his presence."

CM Punk shocked many back in April when he randomly showed up at a WWE Raw show, and even made it backstage to talk to Triple H for a few minutes. He was then seen at an Impact Wrestling taping days later, before making his return to AEW.

Could We Actually See CM Punk In Impact Wrestling?

The talk about CM Punk in WWE won't end, as conflicting reports say it's almost a done deal, while others say it's not happening. While it would be exciting to see him back in WWE, with how well the company is doing in both ratings and live attendance, they don't need Punk like they might have a few years ago when they were struggling. With reports that Endeavor and WWE are even moving on from past stars like The Rock, they might not want to deal with the drama of Punk anymore either.

Could we actually see CM Punk in Impact Wrestling then? One of his best friends does work there, and if the once and future TNA wants to find a huge way to stand out, including moving into bigger venues, signing CM Punk would surely bring them a lot of attention. Despite his controversies, the man is still a draw. There was a report that Impact Wrestling made him an offer. The only question might be, would CM Punk want to join them?
