Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.'s Cameo Appearances In WWE, Explained

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. is one of the biggest stars in modern day professional wrestling. She was the first woman signed to AEW in 2019 and has been one of the biggest stars to ever come out of the promotion. She is a former AEW Women’s World Champion, was the winner of the inaugural Women’s Owen Hart Cup, and has a number of classic matches under her belt. With a plethora of charisma and character, she is a massive fan favorite, but fans might not remember that Baker has been seen on WWE a couple of times over the years.

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. Appears As An Enhancement Talent In WWE

Baker competed in a total of three matches in WWE, although she was never officially signed to the company. Her first appearance came on the July 25, 2016, episode of Monday Night RAW. Baker, who had only made her debut less than a year before, was enhancement talent for Nia Jax. Not even having her name mentioned in introductions, Jax dominated the entirety of the match. It was Baker’s first and only match on main roster television for WWE.

Baker would return to compete in WWE in 2018, this time wrestling two matches for the promotion. First, Baker competed at the Mae Young Classic 2018 on the first episode. While not competing in the tournament itself, she faced Tesha Price, now Fallon Henley in NXT, in a dark match. Baker was successful, winning the match. A little over a month later, on the October 17, 2018, episode of NXT, Baker was back. She received an entrance and sported her now signature logo on her jacket. Her opponent on this night was Shayna Baszler, who was a dominant force on the NXT roster. Many fans cheered on Baker during this match. However, Baszler won the match after injuring Baker’s arm. It was Baker’s final appearance wrestling in WWE, but not the last time she was seen on WWE programming.

NXT Cameras Show Baker At WarGames Supporting Adam Cole

At NXT WarGames 2019, Adam Cole, the real life boyfriend of Baker, was competing in the WarGames match alongside the rest of his Undisputed Era faction against Tommasso Ciampa’s team. During the match, WWE cameras had caught Baker’s reaction in the crowd to a bump that Cole had taken. On the Talk Is Jericho Podcast, Baker said that the situation was “a happy accident”, as she was the most searched portion of the NXT show. She also said that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon apologized for the incident. Her appearance has since been removed from the show on streaming.

WWE Shows Interest, But Britt Baker Is Loyal To AEW

There was a time when Baker had done a WWE tryout, but was ultimately not signed by the company due to conflicts with her schooling. The company has shown interest in her at a number of points, still Baker has expressed on a number of occasions that she does not have any interest in joining, citing a number of different reasons. On Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, when asked about her and Cole, who was in NXT at the time, said, “I’m probably never leaving AEW cause that’s my home.” Cole eventually ended up leaving NXT and signing with AEW.

In the years since her couple appearances wrestling in WWE, Baker reinvented herself as one of the major players of AEW. Frequently referring to herself as “The Pillar”, Baker was a day one AEW signing. Initially a babyface, Baker truly began to take off when she turned heel. Fans have seen the evolution of Baker before their very eyes on television. Her work on the mic is some of the best in the company, as she is able to trade insults with the best of the best and remind fans of why she is one of the biggest names in the company.

In addition to her 290-day reign as AEW Women’s World Champion, she has had great matches with the likes of Thunder Rosa, Ruby Soho, Kris Statlander, and Saraya. Her alliance with Reba, Not Rebel, has created numerous entertaining moments. In addition, her partnership with Jamie Hayter has produced a powerful force in the tag teams of the women’s division and helped build up both. Not to mention her classic exchanges with Tony Schiavone. And she has done all this while being a dentist.

With Baker most likely not leaving AEW any time in the future, fans will see what comes next in the future. Whether it be another run with the AEW Women’s World Championship or more classic rivalries and matches, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. has a solidified place in history.
