Every Armageddon Event Ever, Ranked
Armageddon was a former annual PPV hosted by WWE from 1999 to 2008, except for 2001 where the event got replaced with Vengeance. It took place in December of every year, and WWE used the concept to close out the year and the holiday season.
There have been a total of nine events under the chronology and it has some of the greatest matches in the company's history. The final event took place in 2008 before WWE replaced it with Tables, Ladders & Chairs in 2009.

With that said, let's take a look at the rankings for every Armageddon event in WWE history.
9 Armageddon 2007
The 2007 PPV emanated live from the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The main event saw Batista defending the World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat match against Edge and The Undertaker.
The other major matches were Triple H Vs. Jeff Hardy to crown the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship at the 2008 Royal Rumble and Randy Orton Vs. Chris Jericho for the WWE Championship.
The PPV gained positive reviews from the fans, especially the main event World Heavyweight Championship match, which saw Edge win the World Title for the second time in his career.
8 Armageddon 2008
The 2008 Armageddon event took place on December 14 at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York. It featured superstars from the Raw, SmackDown, and ECW brands and the main event saw Edge defend the WWE Championship in a triple threat match against Jeff Hardy and Triple H.
The PPV also featured the finals of the Intercontinental Championship No.1 contender's tournament between CM Punk and Rey Mysterio, where the former came out victorious.
Another major match for the World Heavyweight Championship took place at the PPV with John Cena regaining it against Chris Jericho via submission. The main event saw Jeff Hardy defeat Edge and Triple H in an uphill task to win his first WWE Championship.
7 Armageddon 2004
The 2004 PPV emanated live from the Gwinnett Center in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 12. The PPV was exclusive to SmackDown, and it featured ten matches involving the superstars of the blue brand.
All four champions of the brand defended their titles, and the main event saw JBL defending the WWE Championship against Booker T, Eddie Guerrero, and The Undertaker in a fatal four-way match.
Rey Mysterio and Rob Van Dam retained the WWE Tag Team Championship against Kenzo Suzuki and René Duprée. John Cena defeated Jesús to retain the United States Championship, and Spike Dudley retained the Cruiserweight title over Funaki.

The four superstars in the main event WWE Title match caused a total melee around the ring, and the ending saw JBL pin Booker T.
6 Armageddon 2006
The 2006 Armageddon emanated live from the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. The event was exclusive to the SmackDown brand, but Raw's John Cena made a special appearance competing in the main event.
The main event of the PPV saw World Heavyweight Champion Batista team up with WWE Champion John Cena to take on King Booker and Finlay. Cena and Batista picked up the victory after Batista pinned Booker following a Batista Bomb.
The event also saw Chris Benoit retain the United States title against Chavo Guerrero and the Undertaker defeat Mr. Kennedy in a "last ride match."
5 Armageddon 1999
The first-ever Armageddon PPV took place on December 12, 1999, at the National Car Rental Center in Sunrise, Florida. The event featured a major twist in an intense rivalry between Triple H and Vince McMahon.
The main event saw them meet in a No Holds Barred match with the stipulation that if Vince won, Triple H’s wedding with Stephanie would be annulled, and if HHH won he would become the No.1 contender for the WWE Championship. Vince McMahon almost had the match won before Stephanie betrayed him and joined forces with Triple H.
Other major matches saw Big Show retaining the WWE Championship against the Big Boss Man and four other championship matches where all except the Tag Team Titles changed hands.
4 Armageddon 2003
The 2003 Armageddon PPV featured the emergence of Triple H's Evolution as the most dominant stable in WWE. The show took place on December 14, 2003, at the TD Waterhouse Centre in Orlando, Florida, and was a Raw brand-exclusive event.
The PPV saw all members of Evolution win all the men's championships on the brand. Randy Orton started the proceedings by winning the Intercontinental Championship from Rob Van Dam, followed by Batista & Ric Flair winning a Tag Team Turmoil match to lift the World Tag Team titles.

The main event saw Triple H closing the deal for Evolution by capturing the World Heavyweight Championship from Goldberg and ended the PPV by posing for the crowd on the stage.
3 Armageddon 2005
Randy Orton and The Undertaker looked to end their feud once and for all at the 2005 Armageddon PPV when they stepped inside Hell in a Cell. "The Deadman" scored the decisive victory over Orton. The event took place on December 18, 2005, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, and the card consisted of eight matches involving superstars of SmackDown.
The other major matches saw Batista and Rey Mysterio competing in a losing effort against Kane and The Big Show, as well as Chris Benoit defeating Booker T in the fourth match of a best of seven series for the vacant United States Championship.
2 Armageddon 2002
The 2002 PPV took place on December 15, 2002, at the Office Depot Center in Sunrise, Florida. The card featured matches from both Raw & SmackDown brands, with the main event being a 3-stages of hell match between Shawn Michaels and Triple H.
The Three Stages of Hell match between Triple H and Shawn Michaels proved to be one of the most brutal in WWE history. Triple H won the first fall in a street fight, and HBK got the second pin inside a steel cage. Triple H earned the final decision in a ladder match after he sent Michaels crashing through four stacked tables on the outside and retrieved the World Heavyweight Championship.
The other major match on the card was a WWE Championship match between The Big Show and Kurt Angle in which the latter won the title from the giant after Brock Lesnar interfered during the match.
1 Armageddon 2000
The 2000 Armageddon PPV featured the largest Hell in a Cell match in WWE history where six superstars stepped inside the "Devil’s Playground." The event took place on December 10, 2000, at the Birmingham–Jefferson Civic Center in Birmingham, Alabama, and had nine matches on the card.
The main event saw Kurt Angle defend the WWE Championship against Triple H, Rikishi, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Undertaker. Kurt Angle managed to hold on to the championship after he pinned the Rock to win the match.
Results included Chris Benoit winning the Intercontinental Championship from Billy Gunn and Edge and Christian winning the Tag Team titles in a fatal four-way match.
