John Cena, the sixteen-time WWE Champion and arguably the biggest Superstar in recent years, fought many top-notch Superstars when he was a full-time employee. Randy Orton was certainly his arch-rival, having faced each other several times.

10 No Way Out (2008)

Cena was out of action for a while and abruptly came back to be part of the 2008 Royal Rumble match. Cena won the match to punch tickets for WrestleMania 24.

Instead of waiting for the Grandest Stage of Them All, Cena challenged then WWE Champion Randy Orton at No Way out, where the latter put the title on the line. Although it was a decent match, Cena squandered the opportunity of winning the title. Cena won by disqualification, but Orton retained the title.

9 Unforgiven (2007)

The WWE Championship feud from RAW was between John Cena and Randy Orton. The build-up of the match was incredible, as Orton showed his vile side kicking Cena's real-life father.

Even after a great storyline, the match didn't live up to the hype at Unforgiven. It ended up in disqualification when Cena showed his aggressive side and kept punching Orton. Cena lost, but the belt didn't change hands.

8 Royal Rumble (2014)

Randy Orton crossed paths with his old foe at the 2014 Royal Rumble, where Orton defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena. With a number of previous encounters, they were acquainted with each other from head to toe, and it was visible during the bout.

6 SummerSlam (2007)

Before fighting at Unforgiven in 2007, Randy Orton and John Cena met each other at SummerSlam for the WWE Championship. The highly-anticipated match between the two biggest active stars of the company mainevented SummerSlam.

It was a lengthy match lasting over twenty minutes. Cena kicked out a vicious RKO from Orton and retained the WWE Championship after connecting an FU.

5 Breaking Point (2009)

After the dismal ending of the WWE Championship match at the 2009 SummerSlam, John Cena was rewarded a deserving rematch against Orton, who used dirty tricks to retain the belt. Vince McMahon played a masterstroke by making it an 'I Quit' match.

The match had everything the fans would have liked to see. Cena showed the resilient side of his character, even though he was tortured by Orton with handcuffs. 4 Hell In A Cell (2014)

John Cena and Randy Orton collided at the 2014 Hell in a Cell, which was their final singles match in WWE. The two behemoths wrestled to receive a WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot in the future.

3 Hell In A Cell (2009)

When Cena and Orton wrestled in the 2009 Hell in a Cell, it was their first Hell in a Cell bout inside a steel cage. After dropping the WWE Championship in an 'I Quit' match, Orton was eager to get a rematch, and he received it at Hell in a Cell.

Taking redemption of his last defeat, Orton reclaimed the WWE Championship at Hell in a Cell.

2 SummerSlam (2009)

While the match infused with controversy, John Cena and Randy Orton still managed to produce one of their best matches. Being a heel, Orton tried every trick in his book to win the match, and he was successful at the end.

First, Orton was disqualified, but the match was restarted. The Viper tried to retain the belt by count-out again. Vince McMahon, however, didn't allow it, and they continued to fight. Lastly, a person from the crowd interfered with the match, giving Orton the chance to secure the win with an RKO.

1 Bragging Rights (2009)

Arguably the greatest match between Randy Orton and John Cena happened at the 2009 Bragging Rights, where they fought in a sixty-minute Iron Man match. Having lost the WWE Championship at Hell in a Cell, Cena challenged and got his rematch at Bragging Rights.

Interferences from Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase didn't help Orton. It was an extremely close fight, as Cena won by 6-5 margin, and Orton tapped out to Cena's STF in the very last minute of the match.
