Booker had momentum from the fan support at the time, but the match ruined it. Triple H had the advantage for most of the 20-minute snore that featured little crowd investment. The finish of Triple H retaining the title after his horrible comments just left a sour taste in the mouths of viewers.

8 The Undertaker Vs Big Show & A-Train

The Undertaker Vs Big Show

WWE started to market The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania heading into WrestleMania 19. Unfortunately, there was no obvious program for Undertaker as he was originally scheduled to be in a tag match.

New signee Nathan Jones was to team with Undertaker against their mutual enemies of Big Show and A-Train. WWE removed Jones since he wasn’t ready for such a match and Undertaker won despite the 2 vs 1 disadvantage in a lackluster bout.

7 Trish Stratus Vs Jazz Vs Victoria

One huge positive for WWE around the time WrestleMania 19 came around was the improved women’s division. Trish Stratus was a legitimate top star for the women with rising heels like Victoria and Jazz presenting credible rivalries.

All three women were rewarded for their hard work in the time before WM season by having a triple threat. Stratus received a huge ovation and retained the Women’s Championship in an underrated match.

6 Team Angle Vs Los Guerreros Vs Chris Benoit & Rhyno

Team Angle

The tag team division of Smackdown following the brand split created outstanding matches. Kurt Angle adopted Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin as his proteges when they won the WWE Tag Team Championship as Team Angle.

The duos of Los Guerreros and Chris Benoit & Rhyno would challenge Team Angle at WrestleMania 19. Each team brought something different to the table, but they gelled for a great match that added strong depth to the legendary card.

5 Matt Hardy Vs Rey Mysterio

WWE made a tremendous signing when adding Rey Mysterio to the roster a few months into the brand split. Mysterio became a huge part of the Smackdown brand and eventually feuded with Matt Hardy for the Cruiserweight Championship.

Hardy found success with his heel concept of the Version 1.0 gimmick.WrestleMania 19 opened with the crowd loving every second of the sprint between Mysterio and Hardy. The cheap finish of Matt cheating to win even worked since it received the intended heat after a hot start to the show.

4 Brock Lesnar Vs Kurt Angle

The choice for the main event of WrestleMania 19 was tough with a handful of realistic choices. Brock Lesnar challenging Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship received the honor as WWE wanted to build the future around both men in top roles.

The match wasn’t the best on the card, but it was still quite compelling as Angle and Lesnar always had stellar chemistry. There was one major flaw when Brock botched a Shooting Star Press that almost ruined his career. Otherwise, it was another great match on a stacked card with Lesnar winning the WWE Championship.

3 Hulk Hogan Vs Vince McMahon

WWE went with the bold choice of having Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon wrestle in a bloody street fight at WrestleMania 19. The real-life issues between the two most powerful men of WWE’s early rise were referenced in the storyline.

Hogan and McMahon shocked the audience with a great outing on the biggest stage. The moments of McMahon doing a leg drop off a ladder on Hogan through the commentary table and slowly creeping up from the ring apron with a bloody smile are moments fans will never forget. Hogan “hulking up” to pull out the victory added the perfect ending to such a brawl.

2 The Rock Vs Steve Austin

The third match in the trilogy of WrestleMania matches came at WrestleMania 19 for Steve Austin and The Rock. WWE found success with Rock playing a new heel character tapping into his real career path into Hollywood.

The story of Rock wanting to finally get a win over Austin on the biggest stage added to the appeal. Austin’s various injuries would make this the final match of his career even though it wasn’t advertised. Rock and Austin had another great outing with Rock finally getting his win to end the iconic rivalry.
