10 Unpopular Opinions About Rhea Ripley (According To Reddit)
Most WWE fans enjoy Rhea Ripley, but there are some people out there who have unpopular opinions about her.

While Ripley has been heavily focused on her character development this year, she hasn't let that take away from her focus on delivering fantastic matches. Ripley has brought some excellent in-ring outings throughout the year at the biggest events when the pressure has been on.

8 A Moment Of Domination

Vs. Natalya - Night Of Champions (Women's World Championship Match)

  • Ripley Defended Her Title
  • Dominik Mysterio Distracted Natalya
  • The Match Lasted: 1:10

While Natalya is a very talented in-ring performer who could have put on an entertaining match against Rhea Ripley, that wasn't what WWE's creative team wanted from this scenario. Ripley essentially squashed the veteran, retaining her title in just over one minute.

It was a dominant display from Ripley, who utilized a distraction from Dominik Mysterio to beat Nattie up outside the ring before hitting her finisher to end things. While it was her weakest PLE match of the year, it did serve its purpose in making her look as dominant as possible.

7 Fighting The Numbers Game

Vs. Zoey Stark Vs. Shayna Baszler Vs. Nia Jax Vs. Raquel Rodriguez - Crown Jewel (Women's World Championship Match)

  • Ripley Won The Match
  • She Pinned Shayna Baszler
  • The Match Lasted: 11:05

Rhea Ripley managed to walk in and out of Saudi Arabia with her Women's World Championship, despite the fact the numbers were against her. She faced four other women in this match, all of whom boasted different skills and styles - adding a little excitement.

WWE Crown Jewel 2023: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best
WWE Crown Jewel 2023 had some enthralling encounters with every wrestler looking to steal the show, but some matches were more memorable than others!

However, while there was something consistently happening there were also plenty of moments where certain women were just sitting on the sidelines. A match with this many moving parts is never going to provide the focus that a singles encounter can as everyone needs to get their stuff in, and that did hold this one back slightly.

6 All Thriller, No Filler

Vs. Zoey Stark - Survivor Series: WarGames (Women's World Championship Match)

  • She Won The Match
  • There Was No Outside Judgment Day Interference Here
  • This Match Lasted: 9:15

The final PLE match of the year for Rhea Ripley saw her once again successfully defend the Women's World Championship. This time it was Zoey Stark who she beat in what was a fast-paced match with the two women holding nothing back throughout this one.

Survivor Series 2023 is in the history books, and it was an event WWE fans will remember for a while!

The fans were massively behind Ripley from the start, so Stark had to work hard as the babyface to get them onside. They achieved this by having Stark just take the fight to Ripley with a series of big strikes, allowing fans to see Ripley's selling skills until she shut it all down.

5 A Hard-Hitting Encounter

Vs. Raquel Rodriguez - Payback (Women's World Championship Match)

  • Ripley Won This Match
  • It Was Rodriguez's First Singles Match At A PLE
  • The Match Lasted: 17:22

This was a true powerhouse battle, which created a unique dynamic for Rhea Ripley. There aren't many women who can match her for strength and power, so having someone that could in Raquel Rodriguez made for a match that felt like a geniune fight.

They pushed each other to their limits with big moves, hard-hitting brawls, and a fight outside of the ring as well. The only issue here was that audiences weren't fully behind Rodriguez, which stopped the atmosphere building to match their efforts.

4 Shutting Down The Emotions

Vs. Zelina Vega - Backlash (WWE SmackDown Women's Championship Match)

  • Ripley Won This Match
  • Vega Was Visibly Emotional Due To The Crowd Reaction
  • The Match Lasted: 7:11

This was one of the more predictable PLE matches in terms of who would pick up the victory, but that didn't stop Rhea Ripley and Zelina Vega from having a memorable encounter. With this happening in Puerto Rico there was an incredible atmosphere from the jump, and they were all behind Vega.

She fed off that by being genuinely emotional, and audiences were able to latch onto it. Ripley gave the LWO star a lot of offense here so people ended up buying into her as a threat and they told a unique David vs. Goliath story that people loved.

3 Outlasting 29 Others

Women's Royal Rumble Match - Royal Rumble

  • Ripley Won The Royal Rumble Match
  • Ripley Entered At #1
  • She Lasted: 61:08

Royal Rumble matches are always a lot of fun, with the surprise factor, the inner-match storylines, and the feuds being settled inside the encounter all coming together perfectly. This particular Rumble wasn't the strongest in history, but when it comes to Rhea Ripley's performance it was certainly memorable.

She entered the match first and obviously put on an incredible effort to outlast everyone else and win. Her endurance was tested, but she didn't just hang by the sides either, making seven eliminations as well.

2 Giving Fans A Dream Encounter

W/ Finn Balor Vs. Edge & Beth Phoenix - Elimination Chamber

  • Edge & Phoenix Won This Match
  • Balor Was Pinned
  • The Match Lasted: 13:48

Rhea Ripley mixing it up with Beth Phoenix had been a dream match for people over the years due to their similar styles and appearances. While WWE didn't provide the singles match between them, the company decided to throw them into a mixed tag team match with Finn Balor and Edge working as their respective partners.

Dave Meltzer has been far too generous when it comes down to rating some of Edge's matches, but in other instances, he's been too harsh.

It was an encounter jam-packed with star power and the storyline that had been built in between them all allowed this to be an excellent encounter. This brought some big moves, great physicality, and some clever storytelling as they worked at a breakneck pace to get in as much as possible.

1 Battling The Queen

Vs. Charlotte Flair - WrestleMania 39 Night One (SmackDown Women's Championship Match)

  • Ripley Defeated Flair
  • They Competed On Saturday Night
  • The Match Lasted: 23:45

The strongest PLE match of the year for Rhea Ripley was reserved for arguably the most important night as she and Charlotte Flair put on a clinic at WrestleMania 39. This was a rematch from WrestleMania 36, and this time they had the fans behind them and they showed everyone what they were capable of.

It was one of the strongest matches of the entire weekend as they went back and forth in an extremely physical encounter. They held nothing back with hard-hitting blows and some fantastic nearfalls that built up the drama to Ripley dethroning the champion in a match few will forget.
