Every Stable & Tag Team R-Truth Has Been A Part Of, Ranked Worst To Best

R-Truth is someone who has been in the professional wrestling business for quite some time at this point, debuting all the way back in 1999 before quickly signing with WWE in 2000, becoming K-Kwik during the late Attitude Era.

He would go on to compete in TNA as Ron Killings, even becoming the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, before finding his way back to WWE as R-Truth. From there, he has cemented himself as a household name despite being mostly in the undercard. Throughout that time, he has been in an array of tag teams and stables, some of which were better than others.

10 Team Pacman

Team PacMan

Having a tag team alongside someone who was unable to contractually wrestle was always going to be a recipe for disaster, and it was made worse when R-Truth and Adam “Pacman” Jones became TNA Tag Team Champions.

They had little chemistry, looked as though they both didn’t want to be there, and are definitely among the worst Tag Team Champions in TNA history.

9 Xavier Woods

R Truth and Xavier Woods

The team of R-Truth and Xavier Woods is likely a forgotten one for many fans. They teamed up together upon Woods’ main roster debut, but they were instantly made to look like jobbers. They lost in a handicap match to Rusev for instance.

This was a case of WWE throwing together two wrestlers that had nothing better to do, but it didn’t end up working at all. They had no memorable matches in over six months of teaming up on WWE programming.

8 Golden Truth

The Golden Truth

The path to R-Truth and Goldust becoming a tag team featured fun segments, but the whole “unlikely allies” thing had been done so many times, and it had even been done before with the wacky Goldust character, that it didn’t work as well as it maybe should’ve.

When they finally became a tag team, Golden Truth fell down the card pretty quickly as a jobber tag team, wasting what would have been an entertaining partnership.

7 La Legion Extranjera

Konnan’s La Legion Extranjera faction probably has more members and special guest members than the nWo and Bullet Club combined. R-Truth was one of them, though his involvement was fairly understated.

Due to his previous affiliation with Konnan, Truth showed up now and again in AAA as a part of this faction, mostly teaming up with the likes of X-Pac, Rikishi, and other foreign wrestlers. The faction simply had too many members even though most people were highly talented and major names.

6 Road Dogg

K Kwik Road Dogg

The alliance between Road Dogg and R-Truth was a short yet memorable one, with the two being most known for performing the song Get Rowdy. It was an entertaining duo, with Truth very nearly becoming a member of D-Generation X on the back of it.

What lets this down is that it was very short-lived, and abruptly ended due to Road Dogg leaving WWE. Truth then became a forgotten entity during the Invasion angle.

5 Kofi Kingston

Kofi Kingston R-Truth WWE Tag Team Champions

Kofi Kingston and R-Truth may have been WWE Tag Team Champions, but that doesn't mean that everything worked with this tag team. Kingston and Truth were just two babyface singles stars thrown together in a tag team that didn’t have a load of chemistry or even personality for that matter.

They did have some good matches, and in what was a very dark time for the WWE tag team division, they provided a solid foundation even if they were given very little to work with. The creative ideas for this team were almost non-existent, though they did manage to have some good matches against the likes of Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger, Prime Time Players, and Team Hell No.

4 John Morrison

Much like with Kofi Kingston, this was a case of WWE putting two singles wrestlers together in a thrown-together tag team. Despite not winning any tag team gold, the pair had more chemistry than Truth did with say Kingston, and they developed well over time as allies.

What elevates this is that WWE made the most of their break-up too, as it elevated Truth briefly to the main event scene. Truth’s jealousy towards Morrison built a good story.

3 Carmella

R-Truth and Carmella

R-Truth and Carmella came together for the Mixed Match Challenge and further as companions during Truth’s various 24/7 Championship reigns, and their chemistry was always apparent.

Carmella as the more straight-faced member of their duo worked well with Truth’s absurdity and silliness. The pair would notably win the Mixed Match Challenge and help each other in the 24/7 division in WWE. It wasn’t too high profile, but it was fun.

2 3 Live Kru

KOnnan3LiveKru

The 3 Live Kru was quite a longstanding one in TNA, lasting between the years 2003 and 2005. It consisted of R-Truth, Road Dogg, and Konnan. It was nice to see Truth and Road Dogg rekindle their alliance from WWE.

During the tenure of this group, the 3 Live Kru became two-time NWA World Tag Team Champions, with Truth also winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship for a second time. The faction had some ups and downs, but it is one of the more memorable of Truth’s career.

1 Awesome Truth

John Cena & The Rock vs. Awesome Truth Survivor Series Cropped

R-Truth’s best tag team arguably came when he and The Miz teamed up due to their respective conspiracy theories against Triple H and those in the upper brass of WWE. They became The Awesome Truth and had a surprising amount of chemistry.

Their act was a top one on Raw, and they managed to have matches against the likes of CM Punk, Triple H, John Cena, and The Rock. They felt like a main heel act in WWE at the time, which just goes to show how effective this tandem was.
