Every WWE PPV Of 2022, Ranked Worst To Best
With WWE no longer hosting a PPV in December, it allows fans to look upon the entire 2022 PPV calendar to decide which event was the best of the year. Throughout 2022, WWE hosted 13 different PPVs.

The year offered up some truly horrific PPVs all the way to all-time great events, with some of this coming down to the change in era, with Vince McMahon stepping down from power and Triple H taking over as the Head of Creative. The latter stages of the year have seen a rise in overall consistency when it comes to WWE PPVs, which has been welcomed by fans in a big way.
13 Royal Rumble
The Royal Rumble is often the most anticipated event of the year, but in 2022, WWE put on one of the absolute worst Rumble PPVs ever. Both Rumble matches were uncoordinated, disjointed, and boring, and each featured non-full-time winners in Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar.
The only highlight of the show was the opener between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, though that ended in a frustrating DQ. Other matches on the undercard failed to save this show from being a disgrace.
12 Elimination Chamber
WWE went to Saudi Arabia to put on the Elimination Chamber PPV, though a change in concept with regard to entrance times led to rushed Chamber matches which lacked any sort of structure or excitement.
Roman Reigns vs Goldberg was fine but a little messy, and Ronda Rousey & Naomi vs Charlotte & Sonya Deville also did its job, but the only real highlight came in the form of Becky Lynch taking on a returning Lita.
11 Money In The Bank
The Usos vs Street Profits stole the show here, but aside from that, this show was poor. Both Money in the Bank ladder matches lacked any magic, with Theory’s main event win garnering criticism.
WWE also rushed Liv Morgan’s cash-in, with her winning the SmackDown Women’s Title on the very same night.
10 Day 1
WWE’s first PPV of 2022 came on the first day of the year with a brand new PPV. It was solid yet unspectacular. New Day vs Usos, RK-Bro vs Street Profits, and Becky Lynch vs Liv Morgan were all fine, but nothing special.
The main event five-way was a blast, but Brock Lesnar pinning and defeating Big E to win the WWE Title was a poor decision, and it irreversibly damaged Big E’s momentum.
9 WrestleMania Backlash
There was a good focus on in-ring action at Backlash, with a solid card all throughout, aside from Omos vs Bobby Lashley. The likes of Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair, Edge vs AJ Styles, and Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins were all arguably a step up from their WrestleMania matches.
The main event between The Bloodline and Drew McIntyre & RK-Bro was a very fun and chaotic main event, though the lack of stakes did hurt it, and it felt more like a glorified TV closing bout.
8 WrestleMania 38 - Sunday
In the ring, WrestleMania Sunday wasn’t overly impressive aside from the opening three-way Tag Match, and the wonderfully entertaining Johnny Knoxville vs Sami Zayn, but the atmosphere of WrestleMania kept its head above water.

The Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar main event was a bit of a letdown, and Edge vs AJ Styles wasn’t as good as expected. However, big moments such as Mr. McMahon’s return to the ring made for a bizarre and fun night overall.
7 Survivor Series
WWE introduced War Games to try and inject some life into Survivor Series, and it achieved just that. Although two War Games matches in one night was a lot, both Women’s and Men’s matches offered up something unique and exciting.
The undercard was a mixed bag, with Ronda Rousey vs Shotzi being terrible, whilst the US Title triple threat was a lot of fun, as Austin Theory gained back his momentum with a win.
6 Hell In A Cell
Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins put on a Dave Meltzer-rated five-star classic (per cagematch.net), and it made this show a must-see.
The rest of the show was pretty good too, with a fantastic opener between Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, and Asuka, and other decent showings such as Theory vs Mustafa Ali and Judgment Day vs AJ Styles, Finn Balor, and Liv Morgan.
5 Crown Jewel
WWE’s Saudi Arabia shows have received a lot of criticism in the past, but recently they’ve been given strong focus and good cards. A great crowd elevated matches like Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley, The Usos vs Brawling Brutes, Judgement Day vs OC, and Drew McIntyre vs Karrion Kross.
The show was headlined by two terrific World Title matches in Bianca Belair vs Bayley and Roman Reigns vs Logan Paul, with the latter exceeding all expectations.
4 SummerSlam
WWE’s first PPV in which Vince McMahon stepped down from power did feel like a changing of the guard. The opener between Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch was great, followed up by three shocking returns of Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky, who would become Damage CTRL. Logan Paul silenced critics with a great match against The Miz too.
Roman Reigns & Brock Lesnar main evented with one of their best-ever matches against one another.
3 Extreme Rules
Brawling Brutes vs Imperium was a violent and electric opener, Bianca Belair and Bayley put on an entertaining ladder match, Finn Balor vs Edge attempted a 30-minute epic which was mostly a success, and the show was capped off with Bray Wyatt’s stunning return.
From top to bottom, this card had a lot of variety, living up to the PPVs name of Extreme Rules with an array of stipulations, with others including a Fight Pit, Strap Match, and more.
2 WrestleMania 38 - Saturday
Night one of WrestleMania 38 was an all-timer. Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch put on a classic, Logan Paul shocked the world with his performance, Cody Rhodes made a stunning return, and Steve Austin wrestled for the first time in 19 years.

This was a special night, though some non-Mania-worthy matches such as The Usos vs Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura, and Drew McIntyre vs Happy Corbin made it a few steps away from being absolutely perfect.
1 Clash At The Castle
WWE’s best PPV of the year came on an overseas trip to the United Kingdom. The Clash at the Castle crowd was deafening throughout. Bayley made her return to the ring after a year, Dominik Mysterio turned heel, and Tyson Fury made a cameo, making for some fun moments.
In the ring, everyone brought their A-game. Matt Riddle vs Seth Rollins was a blast, Gunther and Sheamus had one of the best Intercontinental Title matches of all time, and Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre was a main event for the ages, with the crowd on fire throughout.
