Former WWE Superstar Reveals Which Finisher Hurts The Most

Regardless of what non-fans who love nothing more than saying, "You know it's fake, right?" to those of us who love the business might think, most of us know that professional wrestling is staged. The reason the word fake irks us so much is because even though its results are pre-determined, pro wrestling is anything but fake. The men and women who do it risk their bodies and even their lives every time they step foot in the ring. Even when everything goes right, wrestling still hurts, and former WWE Superstar Maven has clued fans in on just how much it hurts.

What Finishers Hurt The Most?

Taking to his YouTube channel over the weekend, Maven posted a video detailing which finishers are the most painful. Having wrestled some of the biggest names in the business, Maven should know a thing or two about that. Using a scale that starts at "Barely feel it" and goes all the way up to "I hate this job", Maven kicks things off with the Powerbomb, putting the classic wrestling move right in the middle under "It hurts".

Continuing to heap praise on The Undertaker, a man Maven famously eliminated from a Royal Rumble match, he then moves onto the leg drop. Explaining that the brunt of the move goes on the person doing the move, the leg drop falls into the barely feel it category. The Figure Four gets one place higher since, even though it doesn't hurt when used in pro wrestling, Maven notes that's by design, and if you want it to hurt, you can make that happen.

Top Of The List

Let's move on to what we're all here for though - the moves that hurt the most. The first entry on the list that Maven admits was pretty painful is the chokeslam, and there's a simple reason for that: gravity. As careful and professional as your opponent might be, a chokeslam still involves being grabbed by the neck and slammed to the mat, so it's going to hurt. The first move that makes it into the most painful category is the Frog Splash. 200+ pounds of wrestler jumping on you from the top rope, it's going to hurt. Maven even notes he got a concussion taking a frog splash once as the impact made his head bounce off the mat.

The only other move Maven gives the honor - if that's the right word - of placing in the most painful category is the Batista Bomb, given that it combines gravity with the force of a very big man throwing you to the mat. Right below it in the hurts a lot category is the Walls of Jericho, and at the other end of the scale, so moves that barely hurt at all, are the likes of the RKO and the Stunner. That makes the way The Rock would sell for Stone Cold at the height of their rivalry even more impressive.
