How To Get Ebony Ingot Fast
Players looking for Ebony Ingots in Skyrim have a few options for finding or purchasing them, but some methods yield better results than others.
Ebony Ingots are one of the most valuable Smithing resources in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and players can mine ore or purchase ingots in order to use them. To buy Ebony Ingots, players will need to be at least level 25, otherwise vendors won't stock them. However, Ebony Ingots can be fairly expensive, so players looking to obtain a large quantity without spending gold will need to mine Ebony Ore and smelt it.
Players can use Ebony Ingots to craft high-quality armor and weapons. Ebony Ingots are used for Dragonbone, Ebony, and Daedric armor and weapons in Skyrim, so players will need to obtain a lot of them to complete a top-tier set. Although these items can be obtained by other means, crafting them is the easiest and most cost-effective way to get the best gear. Ebony Ingots are rare, but there are a few reliable sources players can utilize to gain ingots quickly.
If players choose to mine Ebony veins rather than purchase ingots, then they will need two Ebony Ores to produce one ingot. Once players have Ebony Ores, they will need to use a smelter to turn them into Ingots. In order to craft armor and weapons with the Ebony Ingots, players will need to upgrade their Smithing skill in Skyrim until the higher-tier gear is unlocked. The Ebony, Daedric, and Dragonbone gear are the last three Smithing perks players can obtain.
Ebony Ore Mining Locations in Skyrim
To mine Ebony Ore, players will need a pickaxe, but most mines have one available to steal inside or near the entrance. Players can stealthily steal a pickaxe from any location if they have their Pickpocket skill upgraded in Skyrim. Once players have a pickaxe, they can simply go up to an ore vein and the option to mine will be available. There are three mines players can visit that have the most Ebony Ore veins: Gloombound, Redbelly, and Raven Rock.
Gloombound Mine has the largest amount of Ebony Ore to collect out of the three. Players can find this mine southeast of Windhelm near Narzulbur. Upon entering, players will see Ebony Ore veins to their left and a few more further into the mine. Redbelly Mine can be found in Shor's Stone which is north of Riften. Redbelly isn't marked on the map, but players can find the entrance near the smelter in town. There will be spiders inside that players will need to deal with before mining.
Raven Rock Mine can be found in the southeastern part of Solstheim, and players will be able to find several Ebony Ore veins inside. Once players collect enough Ebony Ore, they can bring it to a smelter and make Ebony Ingots. Smelters are located in towns near almost any forge. If players are still short on Ebony Ingots, they can purchase them at most vendors when they reach a high enough level, but they will be expensive even if the player's Speech skill is upgraded in Skyrim. Ebony Ingots are essential for crafting Skyrim's highest quality armor and weapons.
