How To Get Shiny Arcanine In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
A Shiny Arcanine is being given out for free in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Here is how to obtain it before the distribution event ends.
Players have an exclusive chance of obtaining a Shiny Arcanine in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet without having to actively hunt it down. The rare version of the creature is being given out for free, but the Shiny Arcanine distribution event is time-limited, so players may also need to know how they can obtain the Generation 1 Pokémon in the game. Shiny Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet became more likely to appear for players due to how outbreaks work, and now players have better chances of encountering at least one of these during their adventures.
The Shiny odds in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are still very low, however, so these alternative-colored versions of creatures are considered quite rare in-game – and a free Shiny Arcanine should not be overlooked. Depending on how difficult it is to obtain a certain Pokémon, their Shiny versions can easily be a trading token for a Legendary. Some Shiny Paradox Pokémon, for instance, are so hard to obtain due to the lack of outbreaks in Area Zero, that they are extremely coveted among Trainers – finding them for a fair trade in Pokémon HOME is no easy task.
Shiny Arcanine Distribution Code For Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
For a limited time, Nintendo is sharing a Shiny Arcanine distribution code for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, so that all players that use the code can obtain a copy of the rare Pokémon. This creature is based on player Paul Chua’s Arcanine from his EUIC team, according to Serebii on Twitter. The distribution event also commemorates the North America International Championships. Players who want to grab this Shiny Arcanine will be able to do so from June 30 to July 3. After this, the distribution event will end and players will no longer be able to obtain it.
To get the Shiny Arcanine in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, players will have to use the related distribution code in the Mystery Gift in-game feature. As was shared by Serebii in another post on Twitter, the code is PAULEU1CW1N. To use it, players will have to execute the following steps:
- Boot up Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
- Connect the game to the Internet.
- Open the Poké Portal in the Main Menu.
- Open the Mystery Gift feature (the last option in the Poké Portal).
- Select “Get with Code/Password.”
- Type in PAULEU1CW1N.
- Choose the “Paul’s Arcanine Gift.”
After concluding the steps, the exclusive and free Shiny Arcanine in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be sent to the player’s boxes. Only one copy of the rare Pokémon can be obtained per game – if players have both Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet on their Nintendo Switch console, then one Shiny Arcanine can be obtained from each game.
Do not forget to save the game after obtaining the Mystery Gift.
Catch Shiny Arcanine In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
If players miss the distribution event and the free Shiny Arcanine in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they can try to obtain it using the traditional methods. Players can either try their luck catching wild Arcanine in South Province: Area Four, North Province: Area Two, or in Tera Raid encounters (though the odds of a shiny are extremely low), or they can try to use the mass outbreak shiny hunting in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to catch a Shiny Growlithe, and then evolve it into a Shiny Arcanine.
Although it is still a rare shiny, Shiny Arcanine can be fairly easy to obtain. Nevertheless, the one gifted through the distribution code is unique, and based on a Pokémon champion’s build – it even comes with an exclusive mark to give to the Pokémon. Distribution events of players’ Pokémon used in competitions are quite common in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but this is the first time that a shiny is in the spotlight.
