How to Solve The Araumi Puzzles in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact has many puzzles and the Araumi area has some tough ones to deal with, so bring your best electricity character for a bumpy ride.

Genshin Impact has many puzzles throughout the game, and the Araumi puzzles are some of the more difficult ones. However, some simple solutions can alleviate a lot of pain and time by recognizing the patterns. A big key to success with the puzzles is having players bringing a character with electricity attacks with them.

Getting to the Araumi puzzles in Genshin Impact has a barrier to access that must get completed first. Getting the Memento Lens is a must because the Lens unlocks switches the player has to access to continue. Getting the Memento Lens requires the completion of the Sacrificial Offering questline as well. The quest is part of the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual, which also gets touched on during the Araumi puzzles. More importantly, doing the Araumi puzzles gains access to the Tutelage: A Thousand Gates dungeon.

How To Unlock The Araumi Seal In Genshin Impact

The Araumi puzzle in Genshin Impact is a long and tough one, and getting it started begins by following the trail going north from the Grand Narukami Shrine on the west side of it, leading to Araumi. While going North, there will be a large staircase going down to a lower level surrounded by Cherry Blossoms. There, players will find a cube surrounded by red symbols circling it. The goal is to release the four Electro seals unlocking the entrance to the ruins below where the real puzzles lie.

From the cube, while facing it, to its left has a pillar that needs to get a charge to activate. Once activated, move past it and look for five cubes with a picture engraved on them with three lit and two that are not. To solve this puzzle, players have to shoot the non-lit cubes with a charge to turn the cubes to the side that has light facing the front. To solve this puzzle, shoot the top left cube, the top middle, and the top left again.

After they are all lit, hit a charged blast to the pillar in the middle to finish the second seal. From here, head North and find the stone path where, along the right side, will have the third pillar. After defeating the enemy guarding the pillar, shoot it to release the third seal. The fourth seal is on the right side of the staircase from the beginning of the area.

How To Clear The Second Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual In Genshin Impact

After the final seal is released in Genshin Impact, go back to the first cube, activate it, and climb the tree to get into a secret area with three Earth Kitsunes. Use the Memento Lens on all three to reveal three more cubes. Activate the cubes to open the floor to a new location. After landing, the new area is a relatively small one, but it has a purple gate with a giant fox statue on the other side to charge up. In front of the entrance is a small Kitsune that will activate after using the Memento Lens. After examining the Kitsune, behind it is a tree-like entity that will give an Electrogranum to travel through the purple gate.

Go through the gate and use Electricity to power up the fox and get a Scroll-Shaped Ward. Next, head back to the Torii gate, where five purple lanterns have to get activated, but in a particular order to trigger the next event. Facing the Torii gate, the first lantern is to the left of it, the second is to the right of it, both needing a Memento Lens to get activated. The third lantern is to the right of the second in an opening. The fourth is directly in front of the Torii gate, and the fifth lantern is to the left of the fourth lantern.

Use the Ward to activate the fourth lantern. The lanterns have symbols above them, each representing numbers. The numbers needed on the top of each lantern from one to five are two, two, three, one, three. Pray at the fourth lantern, and a fight against Ochimusha begins. Killing Ochimucha completes the second of three Sacred Sakura Cleansing Rituals.

How To Get To Tutelage: A Thousand Gates In Genshin Impact

After Ochimusha's defeat in Genshin Impact, another Araumi puzzle is to the left of the Torii gate in an opening through the wall. Here are five cubes, similar to the one needed for the seals to get into the ruins. Shoot the cubes from the starting default position. The front left one twice, then the back right twice. The goal is to put the lit sides to the wall, drain the water to the right of the puzzle, and access a new area.

Drop into the water and swim down the long hallway. Turn right into the opening past the purple gate. There is a set of stairs to climb up with another five cube puzzle on the upper level on the back wall in this area. Shoot the middle one twice to complete the puzzle. Go back to the bottom floor where the stairs are and go through the entrance to the left of them. There is another staircase but don't climb up. Instead, look to the right of the stairs where a cube can get activated, opening a new area. Continue past the enemies to find a Teleport Waypoint and an entrance on the ground floor that brings players to a Perpetual Mechanical Array. After destroying it, climb up the vines at the back of the room and follow the path to another cube with red symbols circling it.

Stepping on a tile near the cube will activate a puzzle solved by stepping on all the tiles, turning them blue. To solve it, stay on the outside tiles and follow the floor toward the middle until all tiles get lit. Activate the cube and move to the next section, where following the same strategy will bring success again on a bigger board. After completing this final puzzle, a monument will rise from the ground accessing the Tutelage: A Thousand Gates dungeon.
