How Well Do You Know The New York Yankees?

From the Iron Horse to A-Rod, Lefty 'Goofy' Gomez and his bag of tricks to Clint Fraizer's luscious locks, and 27 World Series rings in between, the New York Yankees are the pinnacle of success in the sports world. We know all of the basics: their colors are blue and white, they wear pinstripes, and Derek Jeter once was their shortstop.

But, how much do you really know about the Yankees? Take away the basic questions like what borough they play in (the Bronx, but with cleats instead of Timberlands) and who their last captain was (Derek Jeter, though his son will replace him in about 20 years) and really ask yourself what you truly know about the most successful franchise in sports history. Who has the most hits? Who was the most recent ex-Yankee to make the Hall of Fame?

Opening Day is less than three weeks away, meaning your Facebook timelines, Twitter feeds, and favorite radio stations are going to be talking baseball. Why not? Unfortunately, you're going to hear the same old stats and trivia facts, so why not try to pull something new out of the woodwork? With over 100 years of history since becoming the New York Yankees in 1913 (originally, they were the Highlanders. Hey, there's a trivia nugget that you can use!), there's plenty of Yankees facts to go around.

Today, we're going to give you 50 of them, ranging from the times of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig to today's Baby Bombers core of Gary Sanchez, Aaron Judge, and Greg Bird. With that warning out of the way, I feel pretty comfortable in asking: how well do you really know the New York Yankees?
