Indi Hartwell Says Candice LeRae Makes The Wrestling World A Better Place

Aussie Superstar Indi Hartwell has praised her fellow NXT Women's Tag Team Champion Candice LeRae following the pair's title win on Tuesday night's edition of NXT on USA Network.

Hartwell took to Twitter to express her gratitude to her friend and mentor.

"The wrestling world is a better place with [Candice LeRae] in it," Hartwell tweeted on Thursday. "She is so damn selfless. The amount of knowledge this woman has is mind blowing - she teaches me things even when she doesn’t realise. I’m so grateful to be by her side."

In case you missed it, LeRae and Hartwell -- representing The Way -- defeated defending champsEmber Moon and Shotzi Blackheart to capture the gold earlier this week.

"I don’t know what I did to deserve this, but I’m eternally thankful that she is in my life, as a friend/sister/mother (it’s complicated)," Hartwell continued. "Candice, you have busted your ass for almost two decades. No one deserves this more than you."

Working alongside a veteran like Candice LeRae has clearly been good for Hartwell's development. Hartwell was just 6-years-old when Candice started wrestling professionally back in 2002. After making a name for herself on the independent scene for more than a decade, LeRae signed with WWE in 2018. Hartwell started wrestling in 2016, and signed for WWE in 2019.

As a team, Hartwell and LeRae have shared some big moments. On the January 2nd edition of 205 Live, LeRae and Hartwell defeated newcomers Gigi Dolin and Cora Jade in the quarterfinals of the Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament, which was the first time that a women's match had ever taken place on that brand.

Both women now have their first championships in WWE. Their stable-mate Johnny Gargano is currently the NXT North American Champion, which means Austin Theory is the only member of The Way without a title to his name.
