Dr. Abernathy was born and raised in Inman, Kansas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Fort Hays State University. Prior to medical school, she earned her master’s degree in biology where she investigated the expression of obesity-associated genes in channel catfish. She earned her medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. After her internal medicine residency, she is interested in hospital medicine and will continue to practice in Kansas. She is passionate about providing care to underserved and underrepresented patient populations. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, dancing, painting and spending time with her family, which includes her three miniature schnauzers.

Dr. Adnan was born in Lahore, Pakistan, and spent his childhood in endless football matches in the scorching Saudi Arabian desert. It was an adventurous upbringing that fueled Dr. Adnan’s love for exploration. His journey in medicine began on the beaches of Karachi, Pakistan, where he attended medical school. With the serene ocean as his backdrop, he felt a constant reminder of the boundless horizons awaiting him in the field of internal medicine. As Dr. Adnan ventured into research at a cancer center in Santa Monica, he delved into the intricate workings of tumors at a molecular level, discovering an indescribable passion for oncology. Dr. Adnan also had the incredible opportunity to be the first author on a clinical trial. These studies, published in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, solidified Dr. Adnan’s commitment to making meaningful contributions to the medical community. When Dr. Adnan is not absorbed in the world of medicine, you will probably find him in the kitchen experimenting with different cuisines. In fact, his enthusiasm for cooking led him to publish a book dedicated to sharing his fusion recipes.

Dr. Akkawi is a native of Beirut, Lebanon, where he was born and raised. He pursued his academic journey at the American University of Beirut, obtaining a bachelor's degree in chemistry and subsequently completing his medical degree. With a strong interest in cardiology medicine, Dr. Akkawi embarked on a postdoctoral year in cardiology research at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where he had the privilege of gaining firsthand experience in top-notch research. Dr. Akkawi is eager to explore the opportunities that lie ahead in his career. Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. Akkawi finds enjoyment in leisure activities such as playing chess and soccer, which provide him with a well-rounded perspective and moments of relaxation.

Dr. Al Souky was born and raised in Tyre, Lebanon, he pursued his passion for health care by completing his bachelor's degree in chemistry and medical degree at the American University of Beirut. After graduating, he embarked on an enriching journey in research, collaborating with various departments such as gastroenterology, cardiology, emergency medicine and endocrinology. His expertise expanded further as he became an ILMA research fellow, undertaking a remarkable yearlong gastroenterology clinical research program at KU School of Medicine-Wichita. Alongside his professional achievements, Dr. Al Souky cherishes his personal interests. An avid sports enthusiast, he finds joy in both watching and playing soccer and basketball. Furthermore, he values the time spent with his loved ones, cherishing moments with family and friends.

Dr. Alqam was born and raised in Amman, Jordan. He obtained his medical degree at The Hashemite University Faculty of Medicine in Jordan after which he gained clinical experience working as a house physician for two years in his home country. When he first visited Wichita in 2020, he instantly felt a sense of belonging by the friendliness of the people and was curious about the amazing things this city has to offer. He is extremely excited to begin training in Internal Medicine at KU School of Medicine-Wichita and plans to pursue a fellowship after exploring different subspecialties in medicine. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends, hiking, dancing, playing his guitar, and working out at the gym.


Craig Beavers portraitCraig Beavers, D.O., PGY-2

Dr. Beavers was born and raised in Oklahoma City. He earned his undergraduate degree in health and exercise science from the University of Oklahoma. He obtained his medical degree from Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Prior to joining KU Wichita Internal Medicine, he completed an intern year at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. Dr. Beavers is excited about training in Wichita and serving the community, as well as joining his significant other who is an OB/GYN resident in Wichita. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors through rock climbing and backpacking, as well as exploring local restaurants. Dr. Beavers plans to pursue a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine following his Internal Medicine residency.


BharwadAastha Bharwad, M.D., PGY-3

Dr. Bharward was born and raised in Ahmedabad, a city in the state of Gujarat, India. She completed her medical school graduation from Smt. N.H.L. Municipal Medical College with a high-ranking, university-recognized academic profile throughout the course. Dr. Bharward sees herself as a compassionate, empathetic and trustworthy individual who likes to take initiative to spread awareness about different health and social issues and wants to bring a better change, however big or small, in the lives of people. Internal medicine always appealed to Dr. Bharward and the fulfillment that comes from the ongoing relationships with the patients, getting the opportunity to know them as a whole and not merely a diagnosis while contributing to promoting health in the best way she can is something that she looks forward to. After residency, Dr. Bharward wishes to pursue a fellowship in gastroenterology. She is open to new experiences which can be seen through her love for traveling and adventurous activities. She has gone skiing in the Himalayas, camping in the Thar Desert, cliff jumping in Rishikesh and skydiving in Kansas. She does not shy away from a challenge and she is always more than willing to embrace new things and novel experiences. Dr. Bharward is an outgoing fun-loving person who likes socializing with everyone and loves spending time with her family and friends.


Shiv Dalla portraitShiv Dalla, M.D., Preliminary

Dr. Dalla was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, and raised in Wichita, Kansas. He earned both a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and master’s degree in robotics from the University of Pennsylvania. He recently completed medical school at the University of Kansas. After completing his preliminary internal medicine year in Wichita, Dr. Dalla will begin his interventional radiology residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends including his two dogs, music/DJing, BBQing, 3D printing and brewing/drinking coffee.


Ernesto Diaz-Villalpando portraitErnesto Diaz-Villalpando, M.D., PGY-2

Dr. Diaz-Villalpando was born in California but transplanted to Wichita in his teens. In his free time, Dr. Diaz-Villalpando enjoys grilling and cooking with his girlfriend, playing disc golf and hiking with his mini-Aussie, Oreo. Dr. Diaz-Villalpando has been a Jayhawk his entire academic career and is looking forward to completing his residency in Wichita.


El-SwaisAmeen El-Swais, M.D., PGY-3

Dr. El-Swais is from Amman, Jordan. He moved to Beirut, Lebanon, after high school and received his bachelor's degree in biology and his medical degree from the American University of Beirut. Before coming to Wichita, he worked as a research scholar in the Vascular Medicine Institute at the University of Pittsburgh. Outside the realms of medicine, he's an avid tennis fan and player, music lover, cosplayer, concert goer, guitarist and longtime anime enthusiast. Dr. El-Swais looks forward to exploring all aspects of internal medicine and is very curious where his residency journey will take him.


EmbersonJulia Emberson, M.D., PGY-3

Dr. Emberson was born in Wichita, Kansas, and raised in Andale, Kansas. She earned her Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory science from Wichita State University and worked for three years at Wesley Medical Center prior to attending medical school at the University of Kansas. She is excited to stay in Wichita and serve the community during her internal medicine residency. Dr. Emberson hopes to pursue fellowship in hematology/oncology. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, cooking and running in her free time.

Dr. Englert is from Wichita, Kansas. She completed her undergraduate degree from Wichita State University and her medical degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. She looks forward to her advanced training in diagnostic radiology at UMASS after her prelim year in Wichita. In her free time, she loves mountain biking, snowboarding, rock climbing and anything outdoors with her two dogs and cats.

Dr. Fancher was born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas. He earned his undergraduate in chemical biosciences at the University of Oklahoma. He completed his medical education in both Kansas City and Wichita through the University of Kansas School of Medicine's “2 & 2” program. Dr. Fancher is excited to continue his training in Wichita and explore his career interests in cardiology and critical care. In his free time, Dr. Fancher enjoys cooking, watching sports and spending time with friends.

Dr. Feghali was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his Bachelor of Science in biology with high distinction at Lebanese American University, where he served as the president of the student council. He then completed his medical training at LAU with a merit scholarship. He couples-matched into KU Wichita with his partner, Aimee, who is in the pediatrics program. Dr. Feghali wishes to pursue a fellowship in pulmonary critical care. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants and bars, walking outdoors, hiking and traveling.

Dr. Gandhi has her roots in Baroda, a quiet, green city filled with Banyan trees in the heart of Gujarat, India. She did her medical training at the prestigious Medical College, Baroda, and later joined the Gastroenterology research team at KU School of Medicine. Her hobbies include traveling (exploring different places, people and cuisines), watching movies (from the Hitchcock classics to the adrenaline-fueled Marvel sagas), reading mystery fiction novels, exercising and yoga. She is a Potterhead and believes in Dumbledore’s words, "It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." She is an ambitious and optimistic individual. Dr. Gandhi looks forward to honing her skills as a diagnostician while working on research to keep evolving and bettering the care we provide to our patients during her Internal Medicine residency at KU School of Medicine-Wichita.


GundersonWilliam Gunderson, M.D., PGY-3

Dr. Gunderson was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. He earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Kansas and his medical degree from KU School of Medicine-Wichita. He is excited to be in Wichita for his internal medicine residency and hopes to stay in the area after training to serve the community that raised him. He is interested in hematology/oncology and plans to pursue fellowship in this field following residency. During his free time, Dr. Gunderson can be found spending time with family, playing golf or fishing.


Sana Imran portraitSana Imran, M.D., PGY-2

Dr. Imran was born in Pakistan and grew up in both Ireland and United Arab Emirates. She completed her medical education from RMC, Pakistan. After getting married and coming to the U.S in 2018, Dr. Imran moved to Michigan initially, then to Oklahoma in 2020. During this time, she gained U.S. observational and clinical extern experience, took part in a few research programs, and learned the American way of life. Dr. Imran sees herself as an extremely flexible, compassionate and a very adaptable person. She is excited to move to Wichita and start her internal medicine residency at KU Wichita. Dr. Imran loves traveling, exploring different cultures, enjoying roller-coaster rides, jet skiing, watching movies, and spending time with her family and husband, who is currently doing a Pulmonology/Critical Care fellowship at University of Oklahoma. Dr. Imran wishes to pursue a fellowship in either hematology-oncology or gastroenterology, and she hopes residency helps her in choosing between the two.

Dr. Jaber was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology with honors from the Lebanese American University, then joined the School of Medicine at the same institution where he served as the vice class representative of his class and director of external affairs at the Medical Students' Association. After that, he completed an internship year in internal medicine at LAU Medical Center. Dr. Jaber is excited to join the internal medicine program at KU School of Medicine-Wichita and aspires to become a gastroenterologist. In his free time, Dr. Jaber practices and enjoys his singing skills, with his special interest in Middle Eastern music.


KadadoKevin Kadado, D.O., PGY-3

Dr. Kadado was born in San Antonio, Texas, but was raised in Beirut, Lebanon, for 15 years before moving back to Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science in neuroscience at the University of Texas at Dallas and earned his medical degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. He couples-matched into KU Wichita with his fiancée, who will be an OB-GYN resident. Dr. Kadado enjoys golfing, cycling and playing basketball. He loves being outdoors and spending time with his fiancée and dog, Luna Mae. Dr. Kadado hopes to pursue a fellowship in gastroenterology.

Dr. Karam was born and raised in Lebanon. He developed an interest in medicine and was determined to become a physician from a young age. He attended the University of Balamand, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in biology and then his M.D. After graduating, he completed two years of Internal Medicine at the University of Balamand before moving to Wichita. Dr. Karam is excited to be training at KU School of Medicine-Wichita's Internal Medicine program and exploring all Wichita has to offer. In his free time, Dr. Karam likes exercising, hiking and swimming. He also enjoys video games, table tennis and is a lifelong soccer fan.


KayaliMajd Kayali, M.D., PGY-3

Dr. Kayali was born and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he completed high school. He then attended the American University of Beirut where he received a bachelor's degree in biology and later, his M.D. After medical school, he pursued clinical research for two years in the department of radiation oncology at his alma mater. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, working out at the gym and playing video games. Dr Kayali is looking forward to exploring Wichita to enjoy what it has to offer.


KhanAmal Khan, M.D., PGY-3

Dr. Khan was born in Saudi Arabia and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her medical degree at Dow Medical College. Her first visit to the U.S. in 2017 convinced her to pursue a career in the U.S. health care system. She spent the following years gaining clinical and research experiences and is now excited to be a part of the KU School of Medicine-Wichita program. Along with her husband, she loves travelling, hiking, biking and is an avid Marvel fan! She plans to continue doing research with the goal of refining the medicine that is practiced today.


Miriam Lane portraitMiriam Lane, M.D., Preliminary

Dr. Lane was born in Southern California and has been living in Kansas since she was 14 years old. She completed her undergraduate degree in biological sciences at Wichita State University. She attended medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, completing her first two didactic years in Kansas City and then moving to Wichita for her last two clinical years. Following her preliminary year in internal medicine in Wichita, she will be moving to Los Angeles to complete a residency in radiation oncology at the University of California, Los Angeles. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband (who is currently in medical school), along with their three cats (Jack, Ashton and Ava). She also enjoys working out, watching documentaries, going on road trips and trying new recipes.


LiuJeffrey Liu, D.O., PGY-3

Dr. Liu was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology at Duke University and received his medical degree from Kansas City University. After residency, he plans on pursuing a career in hospital or critical care medicine and wants to be involved in medical education. He enjoys music, cooking, traveling and spending time with his family.


MahdiAhmad Mahdi, M.D., PGY-3

Dr. Mahdi was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. Growing up he witnessed numerous members of his family suffer from medical problems. So, he developed a profound interest in medical practice. Dr. Mahdi pursued a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry from the Lebanese American University in Lebanon. He continued and pursued an M.D. in general medicine from the Lebanese American University School of Medicine, thus becoming a first-generation physician in his family. Then, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in infectious diseases research with a focus on COVID-19 at the Lebanese American University Medical Center-Rizk Hospital in Lebanon. Dr. Mahdi is a very curious and motivated individual with a broad spectrum of interests including creative writing, pencil drawing, chess, sports, public service and civic engagement. He aims to lead of life of advocacy and medical care.


Mahmoud Mahdi photoMahmoud Mahdi, M.D., PGY-2

Dr. Mahdi was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. As an exchange student, he spent his junior year of high school in Anchorage, Alaska, at East High. He completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry with a focus on neuroscience at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, and graduated with double honors. After that, he went back to Lebanon to earn his M.D. from the Lebanese American University. Dr. Mahdi has conducted research at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUPUI) at the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute and the Herman B. Wells Research Institute, where he gained the bulk of his basic research skills. Internal medicine appeals to him, as he believes in personalizing management to fit each patient's need and the holistic approach that aims to care for and cure the patient at once. He is excited to be part of the internal medicine family alongside the supportive co-residents, seniors and attendings. He looks forward to making Wichita his home for the next three years. While he is open to all careers post-residency, he hopes to pursue a fellowship in gastroenterology. Dr. Mahdi enjoys playing football(soccer), cooking, hiking and catching up with friends in his free time.


MaldonadoGerson Maldonado, M.D., PGY-3

Dr. Maldonado was born in Clayton, New Mexico, but grew up in Wichita, Kansas. He completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry at Wichita State University and attended medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. He is excited to be staying in Wichita for residency. He plans to pursue a fellowship after residency and is interested in hematology-oncology or gastroenterology. His interests include traveling, movies, reading, working out and sports.

Dr. Mallick was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Wichita, Kansas. She attended Wichita State University for her bachelor's degree in biology and minor in chemistry. Dr. Mallick completed medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. Dr. Mallick’s interests include cooking, crafts, embroidery and enjoying nature while taking long walks. After internal medicine residency, Dr. Mallick plans to specialize and hopes residency training will help her decide between a few specialties.

Dr. Mumtaz is originally from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where she developed a deep-rooted love for medicine and healing from an early age. Her medical education took her to Sharif Medical and Dental College in Lahore, Pakistan, where she honed her skills and gained a strong foundation in the field. Throughout her journey, she has had the privilege of working in various esteemed institutions across the United States, Pakistan and her home country of Saudi Arabia, broadening her perspectives and nurturing a truly global approach to health care. Beyond medicine, she believes in the importance of balance and self-care. During her free time, you'll find her on the basketball court, swimming laps in the pool, or indulging her taste buds with new culinary experiences. She loves capturing and sharing these moments on her Instagram blog page, where she loves posting about the intersection of food, travel and life. She is fueled by a determination to face challenges head-on and is always seeking new avenues for personal and professional growth.

Dr. Nguyen was born in Nha Trang, Vietnam. As an immigrant and first-generation college student, he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to starting medical school, Dr. Nguyen became an educator and taught math and science for incarcerated students in juvenile hall. He received his medical degree from the Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing residency, Dr. Nguyen hopes to either become a hospitalist or pursue a fellowship in allergy/immunology. In his spare time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys cycling, playing the guitar, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Reddy was born and raised in the vibrant city of Hyderabad, India. From a young age, she felt a strong calling to help others and make a meaningful impact in their lives, which led her to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Reddy earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from the prestigious institution Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Belgaum, India. Motivated by the belief that one size doesn't fit all when it comes to health care, she is committed to filling the gaps in patient care. Her patient-centric approach allows her to develop strong relationships with her patients, built on trust, empathy and open communication. Dr. Reddy is excited to serve the incredible community in Wichita and would like to further explore her interest in pursuing a fellowship in gastroenterology/rheumatology, during her internal medicine training. Outside of medicine, she enjoys an active lifestyle with gym, dance, pilates and adventure sports. Dr. Reddy believes life is meant to be lived to the fullest and cherishes spending quality time with friends and family while exploring new experiences and places.

Dr. Phox grew up in Wichita, Kansas. She completed her undergraduate degree in exercise science at Elon University in North Carolina. She then worked as an exercise coach for one year before attending medical school at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Dr. Richardson is thrilled to be back in Wichita serving a community she cares deeply for, as she completes her residency training. She hopes to pursue a fellowship in gastroenterology in the future. In her free time, Dr. Richardson enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, Pete. She loves walking, hiking, skiing, golfing, reading, baking, watching NFL games, trying out new restaurants or ice cream shops, and being with friends and family.

Dr. Rana was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan. She completed her medical school at Sharif Medical and Dental College Lahore, securing distinctions in microbiology and pathology. Dr. Rana has always been a keen advocate of women's health and has been an integral part of numerous campaigns promoting breast cancer awareness amongst the general population. In the future, Dr. Rana aims to pursue a fellowship in gastroenterology, which is one of the many reasons KU School of Medicine-Wichita was her top-ranked program. During her free time, Dr. Rana loves being around her family and friends. She likes her coffee blended, and puns intended. Her love for chess, travelling, watching movies on Netflix, and sharing snippets of her daily life on her blog keeps her entertained when she isn’t busy healing the world.


SeecheranRajeev Seecheran, M.D., PGY-3

Dr. Seecheran was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago. After being awarded a National Scholarship, he obtained his medical degree from the University of the West Indies - St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago. Before starting his residency training, he completed a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) at Louisiana State University Shreveport to develop the skills to one day become a physician leader and better understand the U.S. health care system, and ultimately be better equipped to bridge the gap between the clinical and administrative worlds. Dr. Seecheran has also been involved in several publications, all of which have been published in international and peer-reviewed journals. His career goals include pursuing a fellowship in cardiology and he is open to other medical pursuits, whether it be in applied clinical research, quality improvement, or health care system development. He intends to acquire a firm grasp of all aspects of medicine, which will improve his performance as a medical practitioner and ultimately focus on the most crucial element of medicine, the doctor-patient relationship. In addition, he enjoys exploring the expansive dining experience in Wichita, recreational weightlifting, soccer and vicariously seeking new adventures during his spare time.


SharmaEshani Sharma, M.D., PGY-3

Dr. Sharma was born and raised in New Delhi, India. She attended Maulana Azad Medical College, where she completed her medical education. She was involved in research on genital tuberculosis and infertility at All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences, India. She has a true passion for women's health and outpatient internal medicine. She is very excited to work at the KU Wichita Internal Medicine program and is thankful for the opportunity to serve the wonderful community. She lives in Wichita with her husband and her puppy, Blue. In her free time, she likes to travel, go for bike trails, try out new restaurants, watch movies and hang out with friends.

Dr. Shah was born and raised in Vadodara, a city known for its rich culture in India. As a child, Dr. Shah was always immersed in a rich atmosphere of arts and books. After completing medical school at the renowned Government Medical College Surat, he joined the nutritional research team at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Dr. Shah's interest in lifestyle and nutritional disorders began there, sparking his desire to explore and work further in that field. Inspired by the profound book "When Breath Becomes Air," Dr. Shah is dedicated to going beyond the role of a health care provider, extending his support and care beyond the hospital walls for his patients. Currently, Dr. Shah’s family resides in Kansas, and he is captivated by the truly electrifying state’s sports culture. In addition to Dr. Shah’s professional pursuits, he has a deep passion for writing poems and stories. Dr. Shah finds joy in embarking on camping adventures and hikes which is rejuvenating to him.

Dr. Tanzeem was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan and earned his degree from Dow Medical College. Over the last couple years, he has been part of the critical care research team at the University of Cincinnati, contributing to clinical trials focused on testing novel therapies to improve outcomes for the critically ill. He is excited to be staying in Wichita for residency and plans to pursue a fellowship after. His interests include traveling, reading and spending time outdoors.


John ThesingJohn Thesing, M.D., PGY-1

Dr. Thesing was born and raised in Leawood, Kansas. He attended the University of Dayton, where he earned his undergraduate degree in exercise physiology with a minor in medical humanities. Prior to medical school, he spent time in Napa, California, learning the ins and outs of winemaking. He then attended the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. He and his wife, Elise, are excited to return to Kansas with their two kids and dog. Outside of medicine, Dr. Thesing enjoys spending time with his family, watching Notre Dame football, learning about wine and making pizza. He is interested in gastroenterology but is eager to explore all aspects of internal medicine.

Dr. Topham was raised in Peabody, Kansas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. Prior to medical school, he spent time working for Pfizer in McPherson, before returning to Southwestern College to coach track and field. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita and will be pursuing a career in radiology after his intern year. He enjoys watching and competing in a variety of sports, cooking and weightlifting.


Stephen Wanjala photoStephen Wanjala, M.D., PGY-2

Dr. Stephen Wanjala was born in Nairobi and raised in Eldoret, Kenya. He completed his medical school at The Moi University School of Medicine in Eldoret. After medical school, he worked in various clinical, research and public health roles in Kenya. Dr. Wanjala holds a master’s degree in health economics from the University of Nairobi and an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School. He has interests in infectious diseases, pulmonary medicine, clinical instruction and clinical research. Dr. Wanjala enjoys spending time with his family and friends, keeping fit, reading, photography, writing computer programs and watching interesting documentaries.


ZakhourJoud Zakhour, M.D., PGY-3

Dr. Zakhour was born in Syria and raised between Syria and Lebanon. After finishing high school in Syria, he moved to Beirut, Lebanon, where he did his undergraduate studies in biology at the American University of Beirut and medical school at the Lebanese American University. Last year, Dr. Zakhour moved to Cleveland where he did a postdoctoral research fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Zakhour's research involved adrenal tumors, adrenocortical carcinoma and pheochromocytoma. Dr. Zakhour has a strong passion for oncology but would love to rotate in multiple subspecialties during his internal medicine training before he decides on a fellowship. During his free time, Dr. Zakhour likes to be outdoors, meet friends, watch series and travel!
