Is This Why Courtney Hope Left The Bold And The Beautiful?

As Soaps.com noted, while reporting on Courtney Hope's departure from "The Bold and the Beautiful," her exit came on the heels of intense fan backlash to Sally's storyline. 

The fashion designer was revealed to be faking her terminal illness, and, after torturing everybody for months, Sally began begging the likes of Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and Flo (Katrina Bowden) for forgiveness. 

During her final appearance on the show, Wyatt suggested Sally should leave town for a while or at the very least give him and Flo some space to recover from everything that had happened. Sadly, Sally never got to enjoy any kind of redemption arc.

CheatSheet points out that, when Sally originally debuted in 2017, she was characterized by her ambition, which made her easy to root for. However, her career soon fell by the wayside as Sally became more invested in her romantic pursuits, particularly with Wyatt, which rubbed longtime fans the wrong way. 

As fans became more vocal about their displeasure over where the character was headed, it seems bosses at "The Bold and the Beautiful" took their criticisms to heart and decided to axe Sally entirely instead. However, this is a soap opera, so it's highly likely we haven't seen the last of her on the show. 

For now, though, fans can continue to follow Sally's trajectory on sister show "The Young and the Restless."
