Jey Uso Falls Behind Roman Reigns As He Qualifies For Survivor Series
Raw and SmackDown have been assembling their respective teams as Survivor Series grows closer.
The build to Survivor Series officially began on Raw this week, just 24 hours after Hell in a Cell. WWE announced all the champion versus champion matches, and announcements regarding who will compete in elimination matches began. Sheamus, AJ Styles, and Keith Lee qualified for Team Raw, and the five women to will compete for Team Red were revealed to be Nia Jax, Lana, Shayna Baszler, Mandy Rose, and Dana Brooke.
The announcements regarding who will stand opposite them for Team SmackDown also began this week. It seems as if Team Blue will be making all ten of its selections win a place on their teams rather than merely hand them out, though. Kevin Owens was the first to do so, beating Dolph Ziggler in a hard-fought match at the start of the show.

Next, it was the women's turn. Three Superstars who could have all qualified competed in a triple threat match with just one spot up for grabs. Bianca Belair, Natalya, and Billie Kay. It was Belair who emerged victorious which makes sense as WWE appears to be very much behind her right now. Following her performance at this year's Royal Rumble, we wouldn't be surprised to see Belair become the sole survivor in the women's match.
The third and final spot filled before the end of the night was the most surprising of all. The assumption was that Jey Uso would quietly fall behind Roman Reigns after their second clash at Hell in a Cell. However, a still emotional Uso competed against Daniel Bryan in SmackDown's main event, a spot at Survivor Series up for grabs. Not only did Uso compete in that match, he won, with Reigns watching on from ringside for part of the match.
Reigns made his way into the ring after the match, at which point Uso made a surprising declaration. The multi-time Tag Team Champion submitted to his cousin, telling him he's the head of the table and saying "I'm with you" numerous times. He then continued to beat down a helpless Bryan, sporadically turning to Reigns to tell him he understands. Watch out SmackDown roster, and also the five men who will stand opposite of Uso at Survivor Series.
