MJF References WWE's Triple H And Cody Rhodes In AEW Dynamite Return Promo
MJF is BACK on AEW programming and, as expected, he's already caused quite the stir. The comeback kid cut a fiery return promo at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York during the opening segment of the September 7 edition of AEW Dynamite of TBS.The show kicked off with AEW boss Tony Khan announcing that both the AEW World Championship and the AEW Trios Championship has been vacated due to the backstage altercation between CM Punk and The Elite following Sunday's All Out pay-per-view ... but when Khan's announcement was over, MJF's music rang out around the arena, and the show began in earnest.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman -- who returned to AEW during the closing moments of All Out -- emerged from the back and sauntered down the ramp wearing a Buffalo Bills jersey, and appeared to be relishing the adulation of the crowd. In the ring, the 26-year-old AEW pillar cut a babyface promo in which he complimented the fans and apologized for calling them stupid marks. MJF continued to talk until he was interrupted by former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, who confronted Maxwell and told him he was "full of crap."

Mox was right, of course. MJF removed the Bills jersey and revealed that his good guy shtick was nothing more than a spot of trolling from the devil himself. During his verbal joust with Moxley, MJF -- who won the Casino Ladder Match at All Out and has a guaranteed title shot as a result -- threatened to reunite with his "friend and hero" Cody Rhodes and take the AEW title to a "real wrestling company with real fans," in an obvious reference to WWE.
"To quote the greatest wrestler of all time, and my personal hero The Game: 'that's what's best for business,'" MJF added, referring to Triple H.
Before tonight, MJF hadn't appeared on an AEW TV show since June 1 when he cut an incredible worked-shoot promo in the wake of some real-life drama between himself and Khan.
