Netflix Reportedly Scrapping Vince McMahon Project

In the aftermath of the most recent Vince McMahon expose, streaming giant Netflix has reportedly pulled the plug on its Vince McMahon documentary series, despite the project being deep in production. On Friday, July 8 The Wall Street Journal published a report which claimed McMahon paid off as many as four women going back 16 years. Those payments apparently total $12 million, with one of the four unnamed women included in the report being paid $7.5 million by McMahon. Last month, reports surfaced that McMahonpaid a former WWE paralegal $3 million in hush money after the two had an affairVince McMahon Mr McMahon SmackDownAccording to our former colleague Denise Salcedo, the Vince McMahon documentary project is no longer listed on Netflix's internal programming spreadsheet. Multiple sources within the company confirmed to Salcedo that the project was already in post-production, but had been pulled nonetheless, with one source reportedly saying "that s**t is outta here."

In October 2020, during his first financial earnings call as WWE's new President & Chief Revenue Officer, Nick Khan announced that a multipart documentary series about the life and times of Vincent Kennedy McMahon had recently gone into production at Netflix.

During an appearance on Roz & Mocha in March of last year, Vince's son-in-law Triple H noted that the now-former WWE Chairman had been hesitant to participate in the project.

"It’s a funny thing with Vince, he really doesn’t see himself…while Mr. McMahon is one of the most epic characters ever, he doesn’t see himself as part of the programming." Triple H said. "When you ask him about those things, he goes, ‘Nobody is interested in me, they want to know about the stars and performers.’"
