No Mention Of Nia Jax On Raw, Remains In WWE's Alumni Section

The number 30 spot in a Royal Rumble is coveted for a number of reasons. Not only because in a world where wrestling isn't pre-determined it gives you the best odds of winning the match, but also because it's one of the entries in a Rumble where fans are expecting to see someone significant. Cue the return of Nia Jax at number 30 in the women's Rumble on Saturday, something that didn't go down too well with fans.

Nia Jax Is Still WWE Alumni

The good news for those not happy to see Jax back was since Cody Rhodes had won from number 30 earlier in the show, it was unlikely Jax would do the same thing. Especially since before Saturday, only one person had ever won from the 30 spot. Even better news was everyone in the ring at the time was just as disappointed to see Jax back and all of them paused to team up and dump her back over the top rope.

Jax's Rumble return was quickly followed up with the reveal the previously released star has got new merch on WWE.com. A strong suggestion she wasn't just back for a one-off appearance. However, more evidence on the same website suggests Jax isn't back for good. The former Women's Champion's profile hasn't been moved yet, and she remains part of the site's alumni section.

No Mention On Raw

There was also no mention of Jax on Raw, somewhat surprising as other returning stars who will be sticking around made appearances. Rhodes, of course, and also Rick Boogs. WWE also confirmed a women's Elimination Chamber match, something you would think a returning Jax might be a part of. Three Superstars have already been announced for the match with a qualifier confirmed for next week.

The profile pages on WWE.com are a good indicator of what the company has in mind for its wrestlers, but not something that tends to be set in stone. Sasha Banks remained an active Superstar right up until she debuted in New Japan, and Kevin Owens' profile has been moved around quite a bit during angles where he has pretended to leave the company. It might well be a case of someone simply not getting around to updating Jax's profile, or perhaps we really won't be seeing her again on a regular basis.
