NXT's Grizzled Young Veterans Revealed To Be Joe Gacy's Dyad
Joe Gacy has been aided by mysterious hooded figures ever since he was battling with Bron Breakker for the NXT Title. They've not done him much good so far, but that might well change from here on in. Gacy finally revealed the identities of the duo he had been referring to as The Dyad on Tuesday. Under those hoods were Zack Gibson and James Drake, formerly known as the Grizzled Young Veterans.
Drake And Gibson Are Now Reid And Fowler
In fact, they won't even be called Gibson and Drake anymore. Moving forward, Drake will now be called Jagger Reid, and Gibson is Rip Fowler. The two of them look slightly different too. A lot more in keeping with their new gimmick. Both are clean shaven and appear tp be wearing one contact lens each, giving off some serious Marilyn Manson vibes.

Gacy informed the pair, and fans watching at home, that their past is now behind them. Fowler and Reid also chipped in, stating that they had found redemption and can finally be recognized. The two had some good matches as Grizzled Young Veterans, but it did feel a little like they had hit a glass ceiling. Always one rung from the top, never quite able to make that final step up and win the titles.
The Dyad And The Schism
While it's likely WWE started this angle with different people under the hoods, unaware of who would eventually be revealed, there is reason to believe this has been in the pipeline for a while. Reid and Fowler last appeared on NXT TV three months ago, losing to Legado Del Fantasma. After that match, the pair promised fans they would never see Gibson and Drake again. Now they have been renamed, that promise appears to have been kept.
In case you're confused as to what the group will be referred to as a collective moving forward, Reid and Fowler will be The Dyad. However, the two of them with Gacy are The Schism, presumably because they'll be a faction that gets more members in the future. No clear indicator yet on who they will target first, but the reveal segment happened right after Tuesday's NXT UK Tag Title match, and Gacy watched JD McDonagh versus Cameron Grimes diligently on the same show.
