Purpose (ICP Database Recovery function) - Documentation for IMAGE COPY PLUS 5.1
The ICP Database Recovery function reads an image copy data set and an optional change accumulation data set, performs the forward recovery function, and generates the recovered data set group.
It can also simultaneously generate one to ten image copy data sets. The function automatically expands the input image copy data set if it was previously compressed by the BMC Image Copy utility. Unlike the BMC Recovery utility or the IMS Database Recovery utility, this function does not support log data sets or roll-forward recovery operations. This function also does not support Instant Snapshot copies.
The following figure shows the processing flow of the ICP Database Recovery function.
The BMC Recovery utility, which is available with BMC AMI Backup and Recovery for IMS and RECOVERY PLUS for IMS, provides more features and functionality than the ICP Database Recovery function, including recognition and automatic handling of Instant Snapshot copies. For more information, see RECOVERY PLUS for IMS documentation .
