Roman Reigns Reacts To Last Night's Attack On Jey Uso

Roman Reigns cut another strong and convincing promo during last night's episode of SmackDown Live as he prepares to defend the Universal Championship against Jey Uso this Sunday at Clash of Champions.

In storyline, Uso has been trying to play nice with his cousin, rather than let the upcoming championship match get in the way. The duo even beat King Corbin and Sheamus in a street fight during last week's episode of SmackDown.

But during yesterday's segment with promo, Reigns insulted Uso and said he's not capable of being a champion.

He told Uso that he "wouldn't even know what to do with" the Universal title, and that he doesn't understand the responsibilities and pressure of being the top face of WWE.

Uso then vowed to become the new Universal Champion amid roaring cheers from the ThunderDome Crowd. Just as he was preparing to leave backstage, however, Uso was attacked by Reigns, who confidently stated that Uso will not take the title away from him.

After the show, Reigns took to Twitter and reacted to the attack on his cousin:

It was only a matter of time until Reigns finally snapped and attacked Uso ahead of Clash of Champions. And it came just two days before the highly-anticipated showdown.

Following his return at SummerSlam, Reigns made the quick transition to bad guy. He aligned himself with longtime heel manager Paul Heyman, which has gone a long way in cementing Reigns' villainous turn.

This Should Be A Great Match

Of course, it's widely expected that Reigns will win the match. He's an overwhelming betting favorite to defeat Uso, and it wouldn't make sense for WWE to take the Universal title off of him this early. But this could very well be one of the top matches of 2020, when you factor in the family relations, the buildup and the strong in-ring work these two display.
